@texas_t the weekly gif is my biggest struggle I'm already tired of this week, too. Pretty sure I'm going to end up working from home most of the week but for now I'm in the office.
@texas_t tell me about it. I'm contemplating starting a B*fest Monday. Ugh.
@gusgus14 I have a ridiculous collection of pregnancy memes, if you want I can PM you some.
I'm trying to figure out how to tell this story without giving out too many personal details, but I need to share. Also it's super long, so you can totally skip. My father owns a kosher poultry slaughterhouse. Their packaging have very distinctive colors, that are part of their trademark. A major national supermarket has started selling kosher turkeys in the bags that are those colors (not just the color, the exact same shade). DH had an article pop up in his feed about turkey prices at the top retailers, and the picture was the turkey aisle at this story, he said to me "did [company name] start selling at [grocery store]?" the picture was too far away to see details, you could only see the colors. We spoke to my dad, and it's definitely not theirs, so today DH is going to the store to take pictures, so we can see if we can get more details. I really wanted to go myself, but DH's schedule is more flexible.
Random rave: I was just on hold for almost an hour with the tolls company for NY State. I had a bill for tolls that should have been charged to my EZPass account, plus tolls from when my car was delivered to me by the dealership (which I didn't know about since I wasn't driving it). When I logged in to pay the tolls, there were $200 in late fees for about $16 in tolls - and those were on the tolls from before I even had the car in my possession!
In any event, the very nice man that helped me not only charged the tolls that happened after I set up my EZPass account to my tag, but he also charged the ones I didn't know about to my account and cleared up the late fees so I don't have to dispute them by mail. Man, I know our state is hard up for money but the city already has $35 from me for a wedding license they never wound up issuing (we had to go to another town to get one in time). I'm not giving 'em any more of my money until taxes are due!
@ec1212 EZPass and tolling is so outdated, they really need to overhaul the whole system. I'm glad you were able to find a helpful customer service rep.
I know everyone always says that each kid matures at their own rate, but it doesn't really settle in until you actually see it with your own kids. DH started talking about buying DS#2 a menorah, and I said he's too young. DH reminded me that this is the age that DS#1 started "lighting" his own (of course with a lot of help from DH.)
@mrosek91 that is alarming! seems like its going to be a huge hassle to get that rectified, but getting pics is a good first step. hopefully your dad is able to get the ball rolling on that because thats a huge issue!!!
So I found out my nurse is out because she tested positive for covid. Our numbers are up 2,500+ today. So I finally send my boss an email requesting to go back to working from home and doing only telehealth visits. He said they can accommodate that. So starting tomorrow I'm working from home.

I was craving french onion soup today despite never actually ever having french onion soup so I have no idea if I like it. I looked up recipes and sounds like the good stuff takes a while to make so we ordered takout from a local restaurant. DH went to pick everything up and the only thing he came home without was the soup 🤦🏼♀️ so back he goes...I wish he would learn to check the order before leaving the restaurant....
The kitten baby dreams and sex dreams sound great and all but has anyone else had food dreams yet? I dreamt last night that I was eating some kind of delicious pulled pork sandwich, and that was my whole dream, just enjoying every bite 😂
I woke up at 4:30 for no reason. My 4year old slept at granny’s last night because I was late getting home and setting up my home office. I guess I’m anxious about working from home, but I don’t really need to be.

I keep thinking of things to say when I don't have time to come to the board, and then I get on and their gone... so I'm going to do a bit of a dump
@yellingbanana a friend of mine just announced she's pregnant, and this will be her 6th c-section! it made me think of you. She's due in March.
Our semi-annual reviews were yesterday, and I did better than I expected, between corona and getting pregnant I have not been a star employee, but apparently they understand I am struggling, and are happy with the effort I'm making.
At the risk of jinxing it, our new bedtime routine is working fairly well, I mean kids are kids, so bedtime is still frustrating at times, but in general they're asleep faster.
The strange dreams continue... last night I dreamed that DH's grandparents (who've been together over 50 years) were going to have a trial separation, and they told us about it via Whatsapp.
@spartan4life I hope that french onion soup hit the spot. My mom always makes for holidays, and it's one of my families favorite dishes. I've done it a time or two, and it's actually pretty simple, just have to peel and cut a ton of onions. If your interested here's her recipe
French Onion Soup oil 6 Vidalia onions, peeled and sliced 2 tbsps. flour 4 cups water 6 cups onion soup (mixed powder with hot water) 6 cups consume (mixed powder with hot water) or can use a box of prepared soup 1 Tbsp. salt Freshly ground pepper Shredded cheese Croutons
Heat oil in bottom of soup pot. Sautee onions until soft and golden. Stir in flour and cook gently for 2 minutes. Gradually stir in water and then stock and salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 20 -30 minutes until onions are soft. Adjust seasoning.
When ready to serve pour hot soup into bowls and add shredded cheese and croutons. (if you put cheese in bowl first it will be difficult to clean the bowls.)
@mrosek91 it was ok, but wasn't as good as I think it would be if I made it myself. They put the bread in it so it was completely soggy by the time I got to it which was disappointing. Also, the broth was much sweeter than I expected and I was looking for more of a hearty beefy broth. Thank you for the recipe...I will have to try it out!!
OK, now I'm spamming, but I remembered something else I wanted to share. After a month or two, DH and I realized that we would not be able to share the home office long term, so we converted the guest room (what are guests?) in the basement into a second office for me. That was fine all summer, but now that winter is starting it's getting really cold (this is the coldest room in the house). Since I've moved down here DH has covered my desk upstairs with various computer components (he works in computers and often builds his own equipment.) I told him that I was too cold and needed to move back up, so he had to clean it off. Instead he bought me a space heater. I'm not even upset, I really didn't want to move back upstairs. But I'm so cold while I wait for it. Amazon has us spoiled, he ordered it yesterday, and it's supposed to arrive today, and I'm already impatient for it to get here.
@mrosek91 awww shucks ☺️ That certainly makes me feel a little less insane. Also, secret tip for space heater: place a fan on low speed in front of it to help circulate the heat. Otherwise your feet might still be freezing.
So I just took off my bra and it's torn. Apparently boobs are so heavy it broke my bra while I was wearing it. The cup separated from the band 😅 and it wasn't worn out.
Fun story related to that... my sister has big boobs, and when we had a soccer game together as teenagers, her bra broke on the way to the game. We literally taped her boobs down so she could play!
Well, SIL has COVID so that's great since we were at her wedding last weekend 😫. Ugh!!! I knew this was going to happen and I'm so pissed for letting my guard down and going even though I knew it was a terrible idea. I'm mad because people aren't taking this seriously and now we all have to get tested tomorrow. Thankfully her symptoms are mild and she only has a stuffy nose and scratchy throat so far. I hope it stays that way and that nobody else gets it! We saw them on Sunday and she started showing symptoms Wednesday so definitely within the window that we could have been exposed 🤦🏼♀️
@spartan4life omg! I know you had been so stressed about the whole situation. Fingers crossed that you & hubby are negative and that you SIL recovers quickly.
@spartan4life Agh! No! Dang it! I REALLY hope that you made it out of that wedding without catching it! 🤞🤞🤞 I don’t want to be a jerk, but she really should have postponed it.
@ec1212 and @yellingbanana thanks! And you're not being a jerk, she really should have. My MIL and her new MIL really pushed to have it and I think guilted her in to it. But either way, she knew the risks and should have stood up for herself and postponed. But she is really bad at standing up to her mom.
