What does a positive pregnancy test really look like??

Re: What does a positive pregnancy test really look like??

  • Hey, Ladies! I need some help. My husband and I have been trying off and on for 6 years, and I've never had a test look like this before. I wish I could retest with an FRER, but we can't get those where we live. Husband thinks it's a maybe, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much yet. What do you guys think?
  • @alifeabroad looks legit if that’s taken within the time frame.  Walmart has some 88cent red dye tests that are pretty sensitive.  Even if you can’t get a frer try to find a red dye test.

  • Can anyone else see this very faint line on this pic?
  • @sy77 I see it but I can’t tell if there is color due to the quality of the picture. Test again in few days to confirm.
  • Anyone else have pink lines that are getting more faint but other cross and digital tests aren't?
  • Is DPO days past ovulation. I'm 6 days late on my period and my tests look like this. But aren't getting darker yet. Are you still pregnant and how long before it started darkening for you, how many weeks now are you?
  • @MsMagen I took FRERs while also getting beta HCG tests done... I freaked out and cried for an entire day bc my line was lighter and swore it meant lowering numbers. Well my HCG came back tripled in 48 hours! You really can’t go by the tests. Your kidneys filter your blood depending on your hydration etc so your urine can be dilute or concentrated which will affect your lines.

  • HCG is normally only present in your body if you are pregnant. Any positive line, no matter how faint, means your result is pregnant. Levels of hCG in your body will increase over the course of your pregnancy. If you test early, your hCG levels may still be low and you'll see a faint positive line.

Welp, I guess I'm officially a member of the 1st trimester board! Took 2 tests after missing my period this week (2 days apart) and I scoured this message board to make sure a super faint line was a BFP. It was!!!
  • Here are my tests from the day of my missed period and 2 days later. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/os/oo139tltzm7n.jpg" alt="" />

I found that the control line which is on the right is to make sure the test worked. The test line on the left is to show a positive result. If two lines show up even if the test line is barely visible then it means you're pregnant. If only the control line shows up, then the test is negative. That means you're either not pregnant or it's too early to test. Also I found that this e-book had good info when it comes to staying healthy during pregnancy. https://payhip.com/b/HFJ3
    Oh good. YOU are back...

Took generic grocery store test, clear and pronounced horizontal line in test window, but no full or clear control line. Is this test valid without the clear control line??

  • @Chrislyn89 I’d consult the instructions within the box, but my opinion is that the test is likely invalid due to the control line.

  • @chrislyn89 I am not sure what you are asking.  The control line is messed up, but the test looks like a very clear negative.   Fwiw, blue line tests are crap.  They generally require higher levels of hcg, and often look positive when they aren't
  • @holly321 my question was if the test was invalid due to the lack of control line. I’m sorry for any confusion. I just have never had a test not be valid, so I didn’t know what to look for.

I'm not sure if pic is uploading. But I used a clear blue plus and this thin blue line came up. I am unsure because it is thinner than the control line. But it definitely has blue color in it. I am not able to get the pic to upload right? Anya device on photo uploading too?

  • Thank you. Although that is what I am doing but for some reason it is just putting up the HTML for it instead. Ugh
  • I posted the pic. It's less clear in pic, but it has blue dye in the line that is thin for sure. So I just wanted opinions if this is just a faulty blue dye test or super early positive. Thanks for any help! I do plan to wait to retest.

@cheri357 I don't know that I would trust that line. Would definitely re-test with a pink dye.
  • Thanks for your input!

It's okay. I've experienced this too
  • Not sure if this is still an active discussion, but I’d love some input. Faint positive, or dreaded evap line?? I’m 7 dpo and used an equate test

  • @abbienormal_ when was the picture taken?  If it was during the time limit of the test, it looks positive to me.  I have had really good luck with those tests, and based on blood draws I have had, they are usually pretty sensitive.  BUT, in my experience,  if you look at them after the time window, they almost all look positive later.

I’m a day late for my period and took this test... is it evap? I thought maybe I ovulated later than I thought?
  • @blove24 it could be a line, however it also looks funky, so it could be invalid. Test again and let us know!

  • You bought the test, peed, waited three minutes and now it’s (finally!) the moment of truth… but, uh, is that really a positive? Results can be pretty tricky to read — especially when you’ve got a faded line or a kinda-there plus sign. See real women’s positive tests pictures. We've got the scoop on the most popular brands.

I advise you to read this book because it has everything you wish to inquire about

Ugh, isn’t that what these women are already looking at? Get out of here spammer!

It looks like a line but its a bit fuzzy, can you update us?
  • I'm flabbergasted. My period was late and I thought I might as well take a pregnancy test just in case. Turns out I'm pregnant! However I've been using my birth control perfectly and have never missed a day. I'm on the mini pill Heather (norethindrone). I would only be about 4w2d.

I have an appointment tomorrow. Not sure if she plans on checking if it's ectopic or not. But I can't get out of my head that this could be ectopic pregnancy. Stupid Google says that if you get pregnant on the birth control pill it's most likely ectopic. Especially if it is a mini pill.

We weren't planning on adding a third baby to our family for another couple years. But now that I'm pregnant I really hope it's not ectopic.

Has anyone else gotten pregnant while taking the pill and it turned out viable?

When you take it perfectly I guess the chances of getting pregnant are very low. Since you've got a Dr. appointment, well just see the results then.
