Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Tuesday 11/17

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Tuesday 11/17

  • Month/Cycle: 24/26

    CD/DPO: 25/10

    Timing: -3, -1, O

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: Thursday

R/R: The client we were supposed to be at today and yesterday decided we should do the audit remotely. It’s easy for them to make that call because they have their records electronically anyway, but I hope some other clients follow. I got up and did yoga this morning and it felt amazing. I just don’t think I’m the type of person that can get up and do any type of cardio first thing so I may just have to accept that. In other news, it’s supposed to snow today and I’m not ready!

    CS/Q:

  • Loading the player...
  • I feel bad that I didn’t come back to respond yesterday, the day really got away from me and I ended up not finishing work until we’ll after 9pm, then passed out. I did come back and read all of the responses! To respond to some direct questions, I also am having trouble with headaches from wearing my distance vision glasses all day while staring at computers, so we decided to order some intentionally under powered glasses to wear at work. I’m interested to see how this works. I got both prescriptions on port though so I can go to Zenni and order more.

    Month/Cycle: 11/4 AL

    CD/DPO: 21/6

    Timing: Good I think

    Typical LP length: 13 days

    Testing: not until Sunday/11 DPO

R/R: The weather actually cooled down here a bit this week. It doesn’t look like it will last long, but I’ll take it while I can! I definitely broke out the boots and sweater for work today.

CS/Q: nothing new, temps still high

  • @bows22 I’m jealous of your snow! And your early AM yoga to be honest. I don’t typically get up and do cardio in the morning either, but I always feel better when I do. I hope it puts you in a good place!
  • @bows22 am yoga sounds v relaxing. I’m jealous you have any energy in the morning!
@fitzfizz I love sweater and boot weather! Enjoy it!

    Month/Cycle: 6/6

    CD/DPO: 17/2 or 3

    Timing: -2, O or -1, +1

    Typical LP length: 11 days

Testing: 11/25, so I don’t ruin thanksgiving with my negative. 🤣

R/R: I keep having super vivid dreams. Last night, I dreamt that I was dating my old middle school boyfriend, but we were adults and we were showing Donald trump around our home town. And then we had him over for dinner at my childhood home. Trump bitched about my moms cooking the whole time, too. It was v rude.

CS/Q: FF gave my CH today but when I changed the detector method, it took them away. I think my CD 14 temp is a bit artificially high as we DTD the night before and I usually have a temp spike the next day. But I also did my OPK kind of late on CD14 (4:30 pm) so idk if I surged earlier or not. Idk. I’m thinking CD15 is O day. Thoughts?

  • @bows22 hear you on the no cardio first thing. As much as I’d love to be that person, I’m just not.

@fitzfizz I hope the glasses work out for you! It’s been boots and sweater weather by me for a solid month, maybe a little more, and it’s amazing. Definitely my favorite season!!

@chindimples04 What a dream 🤣🤣 I regularly have super vivid dreams and it’s so funny trying to explain them!

    Month/Cycle: 2

    CD/DPO: 21/6

    Timing: -3,-1,0

    Typical LP length: 11 days

Testing: when af is late. 12+dpo

R/R: Since getting married I’ve really learned to cook and to love cooking. One of my favorite things to make, or rather one of the best things I can make, is chicken soup from scratch. So simple right? Idk. But not to toot my own horn, low key #humblebrag, my chicken soup is amazing. Haha. Just had to share. I made it for dinner last night and was just reminded how much we love it.

    CS/Q:

    TMI:

Had some pink spotting this morning, so not entirely sure what’s up with that. I usually have some spotting before af but I should be like 5 days out from af so it would be pretty crappy to have it for the next 5 days.

  • @fitzfizz I will gladly send some snow your way! Enjoy your cooler weather though! I hope you have an easier day at work today.

@c@chindimples04 your dream sounds annoying haha. Was that peak OPK on CD 15 with FMU? I think maybe you ovulated late CD 14 and had some built up LH left in the morning
  • @paytonpedro do you have a recipe for the chicken soup or just eyeball it? If there’s a crafting thread for this month you should post it! @kpearse99 asked me for a chicken soup recipe recently, apparently forgetting that I never cook 😆
  • @bows22 I don’t follow a recipe 🙈 but I could probably write one down even though I’m so bad at that haha
  • *lurking*
@paytonpedro ummmm no, pretty sure MY chicken soup recipe is the best :D Also from scratch! Pretty sure it has healing powers. It's the perfect soup when you're sick.

  • @bows22 it was FMU. But it honestly wasn’t much darker than my CD14 OPK. I very well could have missed my real surge this cycle and caught the tail end of it. I did I have some cramping on CD15 which I usually have on O day, if that makes a difference. I’ll put my OPKs in the spoiler, since I know this isn’t the OPK thread but I like knowing my O day. 🤣

@bows22 I'm not a cardio in the morning person either, but you sounds nice!
@fitzfizz hope the glasses help with your headaches.
@chindimples04 what a dream! I had a vivid dream the other night and I remember waking up thinking 'what was that about?!?' I can't remember what it even was now.
@paytonpedro No, pretty sure my chicken soup recipes are the best. I have two. I hate winter, but I'm so excited for soup season!

    Month/Cycle: 5/ 2 AL

    CD/DPO: 25/12

    Timing: O

    Typical LP length: 14

Testing: BFN. I think I'm out this cycle.

R/R: I left my sunglasses at the gym yesterday and didn't realize until I won't to leave the house again yesterday afternoon. Hoping they are still there. Pretty bummed about this cycle. I think I'm going to see if we can find a donor that's closer to home so we can try multiple times during the cycle.

CS/Q: none as my thermometer is broken. I need to buy a new one.

Eta: @chindimples04 I think you missed your surge. I would put O on cd 15.

@bows22 I hope more of your clients file suit!

@fitzfizz I just got an email that Zenni is having a sale for 25% off with code BF2020 through the 29th.

@chindimples04 I'd guess late CD15 or early CD16 for O, based on temps and the OPK pics

@paytonpedro we started cooking a lot more this year by signing up for Hello Fresh, it's helped a LOT and we've learned so many great recipes.

@kenneylynn3 can you call the gym to see if they were turned in?

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 40/7

    Timing: O-1

    Typical LP length: ???

Testing: sometime beginning of next week

R/R: bah. migraine today. don't want to take my new med that works really well because it's brand new and no one knows if it's safe in pregnancy so better safe than sorry during TWW, so I took my other med that's good, just not as good (more info in spoiler to not take up allllll the space).

I have chronic migraine and am on daily preventatives, plus I have various rescue meds available. I have Fioricet, which is considered safe during pregnancy, and it works fine (I have the codeine one available as well, which is what I took today), but by nature it's a painkiller. I have a brand new med, Nurtec, which is part of a new emerging class of migraine drugs that actually target and halt the migraine itself, not just the pain. I've only taken it a few times, because my headaches are generally more many days of small headaches rather than occasional giant headaches, but every time I've taken it it's worked really well. Problem is it's so new that there are no studies on it in pregnancy and I am under orders from my neuro to not take it if I might be pregnant. So basically I can take it while WTO, but not in the TWW.

CS/Q: nothing super interesting. I'm going to try turning the thermostat down another degree at night and see if that evens out my sleeping warmth. ETA yesterday's temp isn't on the chart because I discarded it since I woke up hot from the comforter and it was like 97.94 lol

@Kenneylynn3 I’m sorry for the BFN. That’s a good idea about finding a closer donor, but I’m sure it’s a really hard decision. Is the donor you are using now the same that you have always used?
@fantasyflyte I get migraines too, although I can get by with OTC meds. I can’t even imagine being in your situation because it sounds like yours are pretty bad. I hope you are feeling better.
  • Hi y'all,  I'm new to this board and not entirely sure what all the questions are here (I assume the timing is when the deed was done? And not really sure what the CS//Q is..)

    Month/Cycle: 1

    CD/DPO: 20/6 I think

    Timing:

    Typical LP length: 14days

Testing: might be brave and use an frer on thursday!

R/R: ive got a lot on my plate this week with work, on top of Thanksgiving next week and just going generally crazy with waiting to test haha

    CS/Q:

  • @babyroma Welcome! timing just means when did you have sex compared to ovulation. -3 means 3 days prior to ovulation where +1 means 1 day after ovulation, CS/Q means chart stalk/question. It’s where we post our charts and ask each other questions if we have any! ☺️

  • @chindimples04 ahhh thanks for clearing that up! There are so many acronyms on this site it confused me my first go around here haha
  • @bows22 thanks! the fioricet mostly helped. most of the time mine are low-level, just very often, but I do occasionally get bad ones. fingers crossed that whenever I eventually get pregnant they'll get better.
  • @chindimples04 I rarely have dreams that I remember, and those are generally really mundane, so I’m always amused hearing about other people’s weird dreams.

@peytonpedro Haha, short of putting graphic pictures of your cervical mucus in plain view (it has happened!), not much related to TTC is TMI here. Mentions of spotting are generally copacetic.

@bows22 Send me your snow!! I miss it! I haven’t seen snow since I finished residency 3 years ago. Things never really look Christmasy here 😢

@kenneylynn3 I hope your sunglasses are still at the gym!

@fantasyflyte Thanks for the code! I got paper copies of my glasses prescription yesterday so I will have to try that out. Sorry about the migraines. I was just talking about Nurtec with a Neurologist friend. Very interesting, but that sucks about not being able to take it if/when pregnant.

@babyroma Welcome! The acronyms here throw many people at first. I think there is a list in one of the stickied threads that can help.
  • *lurking* @fantasyflyte one migraines and TTC: *tw preg*, also just long
I also am a migraine sufferer and am married to a neurologist (I hear SO MANY migraine telehealth visits now that we are both wfh, I feel like I could treat them myself!)

Just wanted to insert two things:

    (1) My migraines get waaaaay better when pregnant, but then are worse postartum/after loss, but only for a couple of cycles. I find this weird because before getting pregnant I never had menstrual migraines but now they are ALL menstrual. My husband says it's basically 1/3 of women's migraines get worse during pregnancy, 1/3 stay the same, and 1/3 get better, but anecdotally most of my friends have been in the "get better" camp.

    (2) There are some things you can definitely do during TTC that can help. One is the most effective and most boring, which is to *always* get enough sleep, stay hydrated, get moderate exercise every day, stay away from any triggers, etc. Boring but true. Second, you can take migrelief, which is magnesium and b vitamins. These are actually also recommended for fertility by many REs so it's like a double positive. It's OTC and quite safe-- my husband recommends it to everybody.  Third, especially if you get nausea, you can take reglan, which is generally considered safe in pregnancy (they give it to women with bad morning sickness), and for some reason is especially helpful with migraines. Fourth, my understanding (talk to your doc!) is that the triptans, or at least sumatriptan, is basically safe during pregnancy. It's not as vetted as the above things, but there is no evidence that it is harmful. You're right the new drugs (which by all accounts are fantastic) are total unknowns with respect to pregnancy. Another thing you can talk to your doc about is Botox, which I think is generally ok when TTC, and works well for some people.

[Are you in Canada? Some of the drug names may be different! But they exist everywhere]
