TWW Weekend 11.14-11.15

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: TWW Weekend 11.14-11.15

  • Month/Cycle: 11/4 AL

    CD/DPO: 18/4

    Timing: -3, -2, O

    Typical LP length: 13 days

Testing: Next weekend at the earliest.

R/R: I ran my virtual 5k this morning! That put me at finished 49.4 km of my 100 km in November challenge. Feeling pretty accomplished.

CS/Q: I was initially skeptical of my CD15 temp, but now that I have more it seems to be real.

GTKY: what would you eat if you only had one meal left? Probably all carbs haha. Baked macaroni and cheese, cheesy bread, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I would have some very expensive Okanagan Valley ice wine to finish it off.

  • Loading the player...
  • Month/Cycle: 5/ 2 AL

    CD/DPO: 22/9

    Timing: O

    Typical LP length: 14

Testing: tried yesterday. BFN, but I know it was way early. Will try again in Tuesday.

R/R: was up from 12:30-2:30 last night. I'll probably nap today.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: what would you eat if you only had one meal left? Can I have a never ending meal? I would start with a huge salad topped with cheese and pine nuts. Then I would eat a perfectly cooked steak, mashed potatoes, a side of my mom's lasagna. For dessert... Cheesecake with a berry salad on the side.

  • @fitzfizz congrats on being half-way through your November challenge 1 day early! I'm with you on the ice wine.
@Kenneylynn3 I am sorry you didn't get a good night's sleep; hopefully you get that nap in today! Your chart is still looking good and Day 9 is too early for sure.

    Month/Cycle: 10/10

    CD/DPO: 21/10

    Timing: excellent

Typical LP length: not sure with the lower dose of progesterone

    Testing: Monday maybe... probably

R/R: Yesterday was such a lazy day and it was just perfect! It was raining so we couldn't take advantage of being in the mountains (although rain subsided by mid-afternoon and I managed to go on a short run... only 23 min, but my knee doesn't hurt today so I call it a success!). I also submitted a request for a quote to 3 companies for transporting my frozen oocytes from Canada to US, so I'm feeling particularly accomplished. One of those quotes already came back ($1700!!!) so I'm hoping the other 2 will be more reasonable.

CS/Q: Nope! I just have my RHR in FF today. FF is so angry with me because I'm not giving it any data it can use to chart my cycle. Hehehe.

GTKY: what would you eat if you only had one meal left? The best sashimi in the world! Paired with the best bottle of white Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma or Napa.

  • @fitzfizz nice job on the run! I don’t know anything about kilometers haha but it sounds impressive! Now I want cheesy bread

@Kenneylynn3 yes to mashed potatoes! The best. I’m sorry for the BFN, like you said it could definitely be too early though

@acleverusername when we went to SF everything we had to eat was amazing. No matter where we went it was like the best meal ever. You would have a lot of choices for a great last meal! Glad you are having a good time on your trip!

    Month/Cycle: 24/26

    CD/DPO: 22/7

    Timing: -3, -1, O

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: Not sure

R/R: We’re doing some organizing around the house today and then later going to target and Sam’s club to make sure we aren’t going to run out of anything in case the hoarders strike again with cases going up.

Tomorrow we are going to see DH’s family. We have seen DH’s parents a lot but not his sisters so it will be nice to see everyone.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What would you eat if you only had one meal left? I’ve never actually thought about this but here goes - grilled calamari from our favorite restaurant as an appetizer, then my grandma’s famous chicken casserole and my mom’s mashed potatoes and gravy as the main course. A McDonald’s Diet Coke to drink, and for dessert the richest piece of chocolate cake with chocolate icing that I can find!

  • @bows22 agreed that SF has really amazing food everywhere! Enjoy seeing your parents and siblings-in-law!

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 37/4 or 5

    Timing: O or O-1

    Typical LP length: ???

Testing: only if AF isn't here by 14dpo

R/R: busy weekend underway, worked 8 hours today and will be doing between 5 and 8 hours tomorrow. Exhausted because I stayed up stupid late to watch a live youtube event. Gotta get homework mostly done tonight that's due tomorrow night. I made the choice to go back to school but I'm pretty over this semester at this point, the break over turkey day will be nice, even though I'll be working 3 of the 4 days.

CS/Q: I'm more confident that we had O day fairly accurate, given my temps the last few days.

GTKY: what would you eat if you only had one meal left? It would be something involving cheese for sure, and probably a tasty chicken with some kind of panko coating, deliciously savory. And a pan of brownies for dessert.

  • @fitzfizz awesome on the 5K!

@acleverusername fingers crossed on those other two quotes, that's a lot

@bows22 yeah, I'm glad we happened to restock our paper goods recently because I have a feeling it's going to be not great again soon in the stores.

@Kenneylynn3 So sorry about the negative result. I hope that you see different results in the next few days!

@acleverusername Gah, shipping eggs is so pricey! I’m so sorry that you have to deal with paying for all of the fertility things out of pocket as well. Health insurance in this country sucks.

@bows22 Ignore the km, basically I ran 30 miles in the last two week, which considering how lazy I have been this year makes me happy. I hope sams worked out for you. I went last week and they were already out of toilet paper, so I think we are screwed.

For me: Bear with me, I have a longish question. FF changed my ovulation date to CD16 this morning, which makes me irritated since that makes my timing much worse. On CD 15, I slept terribly and was awake for about 2 hours lying in bed before I temped, so I have been thinking that day was falsely high. If I discard CD15, it keeps the CH on CD 16, but if I make the CD15 temp low like I think it should be it moves them to CD 15.

Edit to add: I had the first positive OPK afternoon of CD14, and I usually ovulate within 12-24 hours. Also had EW on CD15, nothing on CD16.

For the record, I realize this isn’t that important and that I can’t change anything anyway, but I’m just curious what others would do for calling O. It will really only matter for when I test because I’m losing willpower to WFAF.

    Chart from yesterday:

Chart from today with all real numbers:

Chart from today with a CD15 temp that is a lie:

Finally coming back to do responses.

@fitzfizz we must have been typing at the same time. Good for you for being half done already!

@acleverusername I did get a 30 min nap in! My thermometer is now broken, so I guess I'm done charting this cycle. I hope your other quotes come in more reasonable.

@bows22 hope you enjoy seeing your family today! I love how you specified a McDonald's diet coke.

@fantasyflyte that sounds like a busy weekend. Hopefully you get some time to relax too.

  • @fantasyflyte I guess a pandemic is a good time to be doing schooling, but it sounds like you are pretty busy. Hope you get to catch up on some sleep!

@fitzfizz 30 miles is a lot! You have being Canadian and being a physician in your favor for the metric system haha. I did have to spend some time in a hospital and got really good at mL and kg for awhile. I felt very fancy at the doctors office after when they gave me pounds and I was like okay but what is that in kilograms? But I’ve forgotten it all now. As far as your chart, I wouldn’t stress. I def don’t think it’s CD16. If I had to bet, I would say CD14 but wouldn’t argue against CD15
  • @fitzfizz TBH, I'm no expert like some on here (paging @emeraldcity1214) but I think O on Day 14-15 makes most sense to me. Looks like you had a fall-back rise this cycle.

@fantasyflyte @fitzfizz & @kenneylynn - I ran the one quote I have with a friend who had some sperm shipped within the state of California as she was working on becoming a single mom by choice, and she told me she paid $1200 WITHIN THE STATE! So, I think maybe $1700 isn't too much considering it's international. I will hold off to see the other quotes.

  • @fitzfizz my personal non expert opinion would be CD 15 based on EWCM

Which detector do you all usually use? Adding today's temp gave me CH, but FAM and Reseach put them on CD 33 which jives with my personal assumption of O and puts our timing at a nice O-1, but Advanced gives me CD 35, which would put our timing at a less than ideal O-3.
  • @fitzfizz I would also say cd 14 based on temp, but 15 based off CM.

@acleverusername whoa! $1200 for sperm in the same state!?! I guess comparing it to that, $1700 isn't bad considering it's international. I am still hoping for lower quotes for you!
