My family makes me happy and I love them, but my favorite time of day is when I go to bed and DH goes downstairs to play video games. I get to lay in bed by myself and play on my phone and I don’t have to talk to anyone or do anything for anyone or be touched by anyone. I just wish I could stay awake longer to enjoy it. 😂
I love my partner and I'm so glad he's coming off nihjts and back to days. Buuutttt.... I'm going mlto miss my downtime each evening when my 10mo when to bed and I told the other two it was Mommy Alone Time.
@riff323 I’ve been there with my oldest. She is 7 now and is an amazing child, but age 3 nearly killed me. She is “spirited” and very strong willed. Not sure how old yours is but if she is younger, I can relate.
@bblair24@pelorunningmama thank you ladies! She's 4. It freaks me out because I feel like it's only going to get worse - isn't this the age where they're innocent and sweet? What about when she's a teenager? She is genuinely a hard person to get along with - sometimes even a hard person to like - and that's what makes me feel like a bad parent. What kind of miserable mom doesn't like her own kid? It's just a mess.
@riff323 age 4 was the hardest with DD1. Not even kidding when I say that I was sure one of us would kill the other before she turned 5. But then she turned 5 and leveled out considerably. Now she’s 6 and she’s a lovely little person! I always heard about the terrible two’s and when she was 2 I was like “huh, this isn’t that bad!” because evidently she was saving it for 4. 😬 Hang in there! It’s definitely a trying time. Just take comfort in the fact that it will get better.
(To be honest I try not to think about her teenage years. DH will joke about how she and I will probably be back to wanting to kill each other when she’s a teenager and I just tell him we’re not going to talk about that 😂😐)
@bblair24 thank you for the support and encouragement! By the way, if you haven't watched the move Ladybird, you should check it out. It's a good movie anyway, but it gave me a glimpse into what my relationship with teenage DD will probably be like!
