It makes me happy that our board is picking up, and apparently we are now one of the most active months. I'm probably over inflating my own importance, but I'm taking partial credit for my FFFC from last week.
@mrosek91 I'll add to that conversation. My last BMB was way more active. I don't feel like I have much to say and I don't. I did notice an uptick this week. I feel like there is maybe 10 active people here, and my last BMB moved to facebook and we have about 60 very active people there.

I am on a Reddit bump group ‘may2021preggers’, (don’t worry, you guys are the best!) and some people were talking about doing gender reveals at their Thanksgiving get togethers. At first I thought it was cute, then it hit me.... Wait, you guys are getting together with a large group of people to eat and socialize inside when the pandemic is at its worst? I think it’s a terrible idea. Am I being judgy? I’m just so tired of seeing our numbers go up and people still socializing like everything is normal.
@mkc3888 yeah, my last BMB had almost 40 when we moved over. I think in general everyone is just home all the time, so there's not much to talk about. I spend way too much time on here, and am happy to talk about anything, but sometimes it's hard to get going. @yellingbanana I am judging them for having gender reveals, is that bad? I think the question of gathering is so tricky, if they are taking no precautions, then yes I would judge away. But there are definitely safe ways to do it (Quarantine for 2 weeks leading up, get everyone tested, zoom, etc.) and people really need connection to stay sane.
Ok, a real FFFC confession this time. My department has a newish manager (I think he's been here around 6 months, time has no meaning any more), and I was just assigned my first job with him, this is only the second day, and he's already driving me bonkers. I've been at this company for 7 years, so even though he technically outranks me, I'm more familiar with our policies and procedures, and he's trying to overcomplicate everything. I want to tell him to just stop and let me handle everything.
@mrosek91 lol 😂 I started out rolling my eyes about the gender reveal too! Then my annoyance at their lack of safety took over! I’m also easily annoyed right now, so I could be exaggerating this whole thing. Mark my words though, two weeks after Thanksgiving are going to be hell for covid numbers.
@yellingbanana ugh yeah I am so not looking forward to the two weeks after Thanksgiving...I just hope people try to be safe! I say this as I'm getting ready to be in SILs wedding...but I am judging them hard for not postponing.
My confession...I had to go in to work this morning when I was supposed to WFH today so I went in for about 2 hours then came home and haven't done anything work related. I keep moving my mouse every few minutes so it looks like I'm still online

i was loling at this whole thread reading through bc i saw the leaderboard yesterday and was going to commend you all! even though i failed at getting on here more this week, i'm glad everyone else managed to! @mrosek91 i give you credit for setting motion to the may21 ocean!
i guess my semi-related FFFC is that i actually despise the whole premise of gender reveals, hate when people make gift-giving events/parties out of them, and will not be doing a "formal" one. once DH and i know gender (9 days and counting!!!!!), we will simply text our parents "it's a boy!" "its a girl!" or "it's a velociraptor!" without any fanfare of any sort because i don't have the time, patience or money to put into it! and since we havent formally announced our pregnancy yet, as we do we will just say "we are having a baby in May and it's a ____!" without making a second announcement with just gender.
I generally agree with you all on the gender reveals and don’t like when a whole party is based around them (although we are doing our color changing playdough gender reveal 🙋🏻♀️ for something fun for the cousins, but don’t plan to start any wildfires or anything) but I still don’t announce the sex on social media, and it’s kind of because I like to annoy people and keep them guessing. I secretly loved when people were so bummed that we weren’t finding out the sex in my last pregnancy, like I had deprived them of something so exciting 😂
DH hates gender reveals. I’m not sure why he cares so much, but we’re team green anyway so it doesn’t matter! I don’t love them as a whole separate event from a shower. Just seems like a lot. That said, I love baking and am bummed I don’t get to bake myself a gender reveal cake. Probably will do it anyway and just make it half pink half blue. Maybe a gender neutral reveal cake?? Revealing the pregnancy, revealing the color scheme in our nursery? Lol idk maybe I just want cake.
@asf0613 my thoughts exactly! And to be fair even though I want very specific Target brand appetizers I said he could just go to the grocery store down the street and find something similar. I’m such a nice wife.
@nbcarlson if you have an air fryer oe are not opposed to deep frying in your house I have found that the Mozzarella string cheese cut in half, wrapped in a store bought wonton wrapper is a delicious make at home mozzarella stick option.
@gusgus14 I love some od targets frozen apps but sadly my local store is going through some renos and no frozen or cold food at this time. Hope your snack were yummy
@nbcarlson I’ve been considering getting a deep fryer because of that. I miss restaurant food, mostly the stuff that I can’t make at home, like mozzarella sticks. The baked ones just aren’t the same. But purchasing a deep dryer would lead to some bad decisions on my end, it would be a slippery slope! Next thing you know we’d be eating mozzarella sticks, calamari, egg rolls, tempura, French fries! The danger is real! 😆
@gusgus14 - I totally made my husband pick up a boneless chicken wings order with celery and ranch from a local restaurant the other night and felt zero shame 😂😂
Hope you ladies are all having a great weekend! I'm a bit muted with my posting because my sis got married yesterday!!! Just a very small courthouse wedding with immediate parents/siblings. Not what they were hoping for, but ya know, it's COVID times. She had a friend make really cute masks for us to wear that had their initials and wedding date stitched in! They've delayed the real party until September 2021. Omg, it was so funny though.. . When we were waiting to get called into the magistrate's office, there were just true salt-of-the-earth type people coming in to talk about their upcoming court dates or make criminal complaints. One guy came in to complain about a traffic violation. He wanted to counter-sue the police because he said he was being wrongfully accused. The lady behind the glass told him that wasn't possible, that he simply needed to plead "not guilty" in his paperwork and show up for his court date. He was none to happy about that response. Then he asked if he could get some subpoenas for his witnesses... you know, maybe something that threatens they will lose their jobs if they don't show up to his court hearing. Again, the lady patiently explains that they do not do subpoenas for traffic violations and the guy goes, "Well how will I make sure my witnesses show up to defend me during my hearing?!" The lady says she's not sure but wishes him the best of luck. He proclaimed, "Well...I guess the law's NOT on my side!!" before storming out. Really cannot make this stuff up...my sister was dying. I told her she would have such special memories of her wedding day to carry forward 😂😂 my wedding day was a total blur, but I'll definitely remember my sister's!
