Re: Product Spotlight: Baby Apparel
1. zippers on pjs are way more handy than buttons when you’re talking about night time diaper changes. But button pjs tend to have more room in the thighs for those that end up thick in that area!
2. These little buggers grow super fast, so try your best to not have too many clothes in the one small size. I swear for everything up until around the 6m clothes, we were lucky if we managed to get DD1 into each item once, forget about re-wearing! We then clued in and made sure we had some stuff on hand and then bought more once she was in it and we could better judge our needs.
3. In line with #2 - also be wary about what sizes you have on hand for certain seasons as they definitely don’t necessarily match your kid’s actual age. DD1 has always been big. She’s currently 15 months but wearing size 2T-3T clothes and 3T-4T pjs (she’s always been a size bigger for pjs, not sure if that’s specific to her). So a bunch of the cute fall/winter stuff that people bought us in size 18m never got worn.
1. ZIPPERS! Snaps or buttons in the middle of the night are the worst thing ever!
2. If you get a lot of clothes gifted to you in sizes that are larger (6, 9 12m), I'd suggest returning them or just not taking the tags off and washing them quite yet. Especially as babies grow, you never know when they'll finally reach that size and when they do, if it'll be the "right season" for it.
3. For NB clothes, only take off tags and wash a few items initially because you don't know how big your baby will be and if you'll need as much NB clothes as you receive. My kiddo was in NB for a few weeks while I've had a few friends with 9 lb+ babies that went right into 0-3M.
4. Socks are kind of useless. We had him in footed sleepers almost exclusively, so we didn't need any of the super cute NB socks we bought.
5. We had a few pair of mittens to prevent scratches but then we found footed sleepers with fold over mittens built into the sleeves (3-pack Cloud Island from Target) and those were so useful.
6. My kid was born with a full head of hair, so we never had him in hats either. His head was always so sweaty. lol.
