How are you feeling: heartburn and generally feeling very full all the time.

Rants/Raves:. Our virtual shower is this weekend. My sister came up with a secret gift that is not on the registry. There are like 16 boxes that were delivered with her name on them. I can't wait to see what is in them. Husband is in charge of opening and wrapping them all. It will be nice to "see" family this weekend and I am trying to just enjoy it. I am normally the party planner of the family, so this is a weird feeling to not know what is happening.

Questions:

GTKY: what's your favorite breakfast meal? I am not a breakfast person! I like brunch, because then I can get lunch food. I enjoy homemade pancakes, but there are more like crepes. My husband says that they do not count as actual pancakes.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: An acorn squash (very seasonally appropriate!)

Upcoming appointments: 30-week growth scan earlier today, regular OB on Thurs.

How are you feeling: Dizzy! Dizziness kicked in a couple weeks ago and is kicking my butt. No blood pressure issues, blood sugars also fine, so they think it's just one of those third tri things.

Rants/Raves: Both a rant and a rave--baby decided to throw a 4 AM uterus party. So I'm sleepy but happy that he's active.

Questions: Anybody measuring big or had big babies in the past? I am pretty small but my husband is quite tall and this little guy is measuring ahead... Me and all of my siblings were small and early, so I hadn't anticipated this!

GTKY: what's your favorite breakfast meal? Eggs benedict, which I can't wait to have again after pregnancy! And chilaquiles, but those I've still been able to eat

@peyts228. I was told he is measuring 1-2 weeks ahead and will probably be big. At 31 weeks, he is already 4 lbs. I am not sure what that means in terms of delivery and due dates though. I wanted to talk with the midwife about it, but I saw a nurse practitioner instead. Both my husband and I are pretty short, so I am a little nervous with a big baby.

@dobiemom11 I'm sorry you're nervous, too, but a bit relieved that others are encountering this! I am just shy of 30 weeks and he's measuring at 3lbs, 10 oz already!

I'm talking to my OB about my scan results this Thurs, and will let you know if she shares anything illuminating!

@peyts228 and @dobiemom11: Same! Little man has been measuring weeks ahead since the begging. I will say though that there tend to be lot of inaccuracies in estimating fetal size/weight this late in the game. DD was estimated to be over 8lbs and a day later she was born barely 7lbs!

Upcoming appointments: OB check-up on 11/5 - it seems weird to have appointments scheduled after the election.

How are you feeling: Pretty good - I have a bit of a cold right now (mostly sneezing) but going to bed early the past few nights has helped.

Rants/Raves: Kind of a silly rant - I don't know how I'm going to finish all the knitting projects I have in progress before the baby is born. Nothing except for her blanket has to be done, but I'd like to have some stuff wrapped up before I have my arms full of a baby most of the time.

GTKY: what's your favorite breakfast meal? French toast! But I'm pretty bad at making it, it always turns too scrambled-eggy so I like to order it when I'm out.

Upcoming appointments: just had one today, everything measuring fine, next one is 11/3, election day!

How are you feeling: ugh, so much heartburn, plus, I think he's dropped as there is suddenly no room on my lap for the bigs. Also, I'm having Braxton hicks basically every night. Oh, and it's getting hard to lift my 1 year old.

Rants/Raves: rave - of my local mom friend group of 21 women with kids my oldest's age there are 9 babies due in the next 6 month's, including a set of twins, and a surrogacy where both women are in this small group. It's been super fun being pregnant with these ladies AND chasing the same terrible 3 year olds. I can't imagine what this pandemic would be like without my local support. Rant - the bump. I can't even post on a thread until there are at least 2 responses. I have reported to support, re-installed the app, everything I can think of. My screen is just buggy and sometimes black until I can scroll up and down like 10 times and have to wait 15+ seconds. I know that's a first world problem, but 15 seconds for a page to load is aggravating.

Questions: nope!

GTKY: what's your favorite breakfast meal? All. Of. It. Eggs, bacon, cheesecake, leftover fried rice, French toast, steak and eggs, tomato soup, bagel with cream cheese. I'll eat anything as long as someone else makes it, and I'm not between 4 and 14 weeks pregnant.

Re: big babies - my first 2 babies were 9lb9oz at 41w2d 98% head, and 9lb13oz at 39w 97% head. This baby is maybe only going to be 70% head, 39w, but probably 8lb +. Big babies are resilient

. Also, they only estimated 8lbs+ for either of my other two, so take the estimates with a grain of salt.

— I just wanted to take a minute to say hello again: I was active on this forum at the beginning of my pregnancy but just got too busy to keep up and fell to the wayside. But lately I have been thinking about you ladies and your babies a lot and wondering how everyone is doing as we approach the end of our journey. My J18 group is still very Close-knit and active on FB and I loved the support of being able to turn to others with newborns experiencing the same things last time, and decided I wanted to be able to share in that again, so I needed to make time for this - to keep up and keep in touch. So I’m working on catching up and hope I nobody is offended by my falling off the wagon and then hopping back on at this stage of the game.

Okay that’s it I guess! ❤️

*editing to add I just noticed my Bump username finally updated even though I tried to change It back at the beginning of this pregnancy unsuccessfully! But I was posting under RookieAlert back when this group started.

@sejica I hear you, my bigs are falling off my lap and Braxton Hicks and heartburn off and on all day and until I fall asleep...need to figure out how to get my sleep and get all my work done and spend time with my family. So fun.

How are you feeling: tired, some heartburn and Braxton Hicks every day but that's normal for my pregnancies.

Rants/Raves: none really...love being in person with my students but getting more and more nervous and just want a day without people but with 2 other kiddos that doesn't happen.

@peyts228 birthing babies is about hip width not height, so unless your dr. Has said you have a small pelvis, or hip space then I wouldn't worry about it. Everybody is made differently, but babies are meant to come out that way. I was always told if you or babies father were big babies, you're more likely to have bigger babies, and if you were tiny babies you're more likely to have tiny babies. And your genetics know that and have adapted over generations. And that the 1st baby is usually the smallest.

I've had 3 -8# babies, and 2 - 9# babies (the last one was almost 10#s) and was okay. Talk to your mother and your MIL and find out how big you and DH were at birth and ask your mother how her labors went, those answers will probably be more helpful and realistic than the ultrasound estimated weight.
