*TW* - basically my whole life. Dead babies. Living babies. Callous asshats. Just another #BitterHagRant/Lament

Backstory - I'm a Fed and have been teleworking 100% since mid-March, as have my coworkers. Some of us have a non-work group chat. Anywho, one (twatwaffle) coworker has gone on and on since quarantine started about how difficult it would be for her to telework with a like 1+ year old at home and how she thinks she should be entitled to paid leave to play with her kid. Despite our agency both allowing people to telework WITH kids at home (usually a HUGE no-no) AND giving us maxi-flex (aka, you can telework ANY time of the day you want) to allow parents the upmost flexibility, she will NOT get off this "I should be getting weather and safety leave cause I pushed a baby out of my vagina." And then laments this to us ad nauseum (including coworker who had 2 MCs and now has her like 6 month old rainbow baby at home. and myself who's had 5 MCs). And we all are like "think of how privileged we really are in these times and how flexible they're trying to be... etc. etc." And then says she like "Well, YOU wouldn't understand." or (yesterday - "Stay in YOUR lane") or "YOU don't even know how difficult this is. It's SUCH a rotten deal." Like... BITCH... read the God-damned room. Also, you don't think I'd rather be at home with my kid(s), trying to figure out school and work and family bonding time and all of that... rather than having 5 dead babies? like... GTFO.

So twatwaffle coworker has me screaming "WTAF!?!?" today!!!

@chindimples04 Ironically... I HAVE said things like that to her. Multiple times. But apparently her "woe is me. My life is THE worst in the ENTIRE WORLD right now" complex is just too damned big for it to make an impact past 5 minutes.

@capnjackharkness F that coworker. What a witch. I’m sorry you have to deal with that in the non-work group chat. Yeah, everyone knows it’s hard to WFH w kids in tow. That’s why they’re now making commercials about it and everything—normalizing how hard it is. Personally, I think it’s a million times harder to want to complete your family and not be able to. She needs to check herself. “Stay in your lane”. Really?! Biotch, F off.

My WTAF goes out to New York State Taxation & Finance. These a**holes sent me a tax bill a couple years ago for a year that I never even lived there—for the year prior to when I moved there. They sent me this $10k+ tax bill after id already moved out of NY. It took me months & months to argue it, having to prove my lease from my previous address in another state to show I didn’t live in NY that year, my tax returns for that year in another state, etc. It took forever to deal with their red tape. About 9 months ago I got a letter saying it was resolved, to disregard the issue.🙄 Yesterday I got another letter in the mail saying I still owe them more than $10k and they have the right to refer this debt out to a collection agency. WTAF?!?!

@keikilove UGH! Dealing with situations like that are frustrating with even small amounts of money owed. I can't imagine being in that situation with that large of a sum! #Stressful AND people don't tend to keep records for that long! Isn't there some sort of time-frame expiration on how long they can collect that for (even if it were legit)?

@capnjackharkness Ugh, it seems like there should be a time limit! They’re claiming this is from 9 years ago? But I think with taxes they say you owe it till you die, no expiration. Except I don’t owe it.😩😩😩😩😩 Ok, end rant.

@keikilove UGH. That literally sounds like a nightmare!!! I’m sorry you have to deal with that. This might sound weird, but do any of your news stations do like a “solve it” segment, where they take a viewers problem and get to the bottom of it?? Might be worth it! I know I’ve seen our news stations figure out really confusing issues for viewers around here!

@keikilove Ugh! Super frustrating. I ran into a (much) smaller issue like that for jury duty where they were going to try and say I was in contempt of court for not showing up to the summons for selection. Meanwhile, I'd already called and said I didn't live in that jurisdiction, I filled out and mailed back the form, and then called to confirm. And then got the "we gonna send you to jail yo!" letter. *sigh* Ugh. I really like @daisy528 idea to call local news station!!!!

@capnjackharkness Eeeewwww! Yes, your situation sounds very similar to this one I’m dealing with. Like, come on! I did everything right and you’re still gonna threaten me with something super crazy like arrest, or bill collection? GTFOH and stop stressing me.

@keikilove I know you are just ranting but if there is a phone number on the notice I would definitely try to get someone on the phone. Sounds like something got crossed in their system.

@capnjackharkness Wow - that co-worker need to get her arse kicked thoroughly (though throat punch sounds like a good idea). You don't need that insensitive, self-entitled shit in your life. I actively distance myself from ppl like that. Good for you for speaking up re: rotten deals.

@keikilove that tax situation sounds like total bullcrap. I'm sorry you have to deal with it. Do you have proof from when this issues was "resolved" that you can send it to them? Argh. I'd be so effing frustrated to have this come up again. Like... get your paperwork in order!

Adding my WTF.... my cable provider issues. So, I finally heard back from the cable company, and basically they haven't fixed anything. They said that for some reason in their system it shows my account as seriously delinquent, like as in all of my services should be shut off. When they go into my recent payments though, it shows that I pay my bill every month. They need to figure out how to get their system to show my account as current before they can add a cable box. The rep I spoke with yesterday was great, and promised me he would call me every day that he is in the office to update me on the issue. As great as that is, I just want the damn cable box!!!

@bows22 I will have to check for a phone number. I didn’t notice one yesterday, but I also threw the letter down with disgust so... 🤷‍♀️ I will have to save that phone call for when I have a couple spare hours to waste, probably this Friday🙄

@daisy528 Ugh to your cable issues as well! Why does stuff like that always seem to happen with cable companies? Hope it gets straightened out for you soon!

@keikilove yes definitely save for a time when you don’t need your phone and have the patience to listen to hold music for hours! Our tax department always says to call right when the phone lines open but it is always forever for me no matter what

@capnjackharkness I’m so sorry you have deal with a person who is such a self absorbed asshole. I would totally make another group chat with everyone but her and leave the current one. Surely everyone would understand especially given the current tone of things. Seriously makes me mad for you. The nerve of some people.

@keikilove got to LOVE NYS 🙄🙄🙄 Actually not. Currently live in NYS, also currently trying to find a way to leave NYS. I hope you can get through this quickly, and it ends with this. Maybe make a copy and mail the letter back? Such bs.
-also, not sure where you were in NYS, but I’m near buffalo and there is a station here that does something like that (news 4 on your side or something like that, where they investigate).

@Daisy528 is there a way they can delete you from the system and re add you? This happened with a subscription I had one (kinda, not exact same but similar) and that’s what it took to get me fixed. Regardless, I hope it gets fixed soon. Super super annoying. Maybe threaten leaving??

@capnjackharkness Add me to the throat punching line! She sounds like a real peach. Maybe I’m just spoiled by people being kind around here, but I feel like people who know they are talking to someone with infertility/losses and still feel the need to complain about pregnancy or children need a good bitch slap. (I may or may not have wanted to slap my pregnant coworker last week complaining about how hard it is to be so pregnant, but at least she didn’t know I was standing there when she said it)
