How are you feeling this week? Fine. The nausea backed down to vague, and I concluded it was starting the blood pressure meds that made me feel blah. Now that I've adjusted, the nausea is gone again. Aside from being exhausted, I feel fine. In fact, if I hadn't POAS, I probably wouldn't even know I was pregnant.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Ready for this one? SALAD. I love salad. I like that just adding or changing an ingredient elevates the whole thing, and you can never get bored of it.
How are you feeling this week? Round ligament pain is SUCH a pain in the a$$! It’s getting in the way of my new found energy and motivation. Lol. I feel like getting out in the garden and getting everything ready for the incoming winter but RLP/backache says no.. so netflix and heating pad it is :smirk
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? I LOVE a good roast (Balsamic beef recently) with homemade mashed potatoes :yum But salad is a close second! You’re right @aisukurimsarang, tweaking one thing changes the entire salad making it so easy to pair with nearly anything else.
How are you feeling this week? Feeling better but not perfect yet. I remember it was like magic one day at 14 weeks and 14+2 so I'm holding out hope that even though this has been so much worse and I still can't eat with my family most meals, that I'll be in the glorious second trimester with no more nausea or aversions by Friday.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? I love Thanksgiving dinner
How are you feeling this week? Eh, not awful, not great. The nausea is letting up, but still tired. Also, I think I might be having RLP. For all my experienced mamas @kvh22@goldpolkadot@bblair24@kadeephd what does RLP actually feel like? I keep reading "shock" online and its not that, but like a little bit sharp ache on one side that comes and goes right away.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Probably sushi, including veggie sushi from our favorite place.
How are you feeling this week? Pretty good! Have a good amount of energy and usually feel like I can eat real food. My appetite is smaller than pre-pregnancy but I'm not complaining about that. It has resulted in me only gaining 2 lbs so far, even though I'm eating plenty of junky things here and there. I'm experiencing A LOT of acid reflux, but less nausea and less dry heaving haha. Haven't really had headaches this week so far either (knock on wood) so that's a welcomed change from last week.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Without a doubt, pizza. I LOVE pizza. In all forms and types. I love NY pizzeria style pizza, I love Domino's thin and crispy kind of pizza (some people don't think Domino's/Pizza Hut/etc. are "real" pizza, I just think it's a totally different type of pizza), I love "italian" fresh mozzarella and fresh tomato Margherita kind of pizza, I love bagel bites lol. I do not discriminate when it comes to pizza.
How are you feeling this week? Physically I am doing OK, though still struggling with sleep. My nausea is basically gone for the most part and I have more energy, so mostly good things. Emotionally I am having a tough time with work and balancing work/life. I've been more absent here than I expected to be and I'm going to try to check in and respond more.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Probably an Indian feast. I love Indian food. I also really like sushi and pizza and salad! And Thanksgiving dinner! Y'all are making me hungry.
@bbrahmbhatt I didn't have that much RLP during my last pregnancy (and haven't had any this time yet) but that description sounds accurate to what I remember.
How are you feeling this week? I’m having maybe some more days where I don’t feel very nauseous, and then other days I still feel pretty rough. I feel like it’s gotta be diet related, but I can’t really put my finger on what causes the difference between some days. I’m mainly pretending like I feel okay, trying to talk myself in to it. Some days it works better than others 😂 I also mentioned this in the all due date check-in, but I’ve been having moments where I’m super dizzy. It’s happened today both while I’m sitting and while I’m standing.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Ooh this one’s tough. Probably pizza though...I’ve always loved pizza so much! With a good salad. Yum.
ETA forgot to respond to @bbrahmbhatt! RLP for me is either like a quick pull/stretching feeling that I get when I sneeze or move wrong, or like you said - a momentary ache. It can really catch you off guard and make you bend over/sideways as a result of the sudden pain.
How are you feeling this week? still really terrible, I’m so jealous of everyone who is starting to feel better. If I’m not nauseous, I’m painfully gassy, and if not those two things, nearly throwing up because of acid reflux. 😩 I had acid reflux REALLY bad with my daughter but definitely not starting at 14 weeks. I’m also still waiting on NIPT results...nearly 3 weeks now and I’m so irritated/anxious to get results. We aren’t announcing until I get them and this is just painful.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Prime rib, some kind of potato and salad. Total meat & potatoes person.
How are you feeling this week? I feel like i'm more tired again the last week or so. I make it through the day without stealing a nap, but by DD's bedtime i'm so exhausted i can barely manage. Also, acid reflux started a few days ago, and i forgot how miserable it is. I've been taking nightly Tums, but also depressed that zantac was recalled because that definitely kept it at bay when I was pregnant with DD.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? After reading all of these i could easily say all of the above! I love pizza and caesar salad, sushi, crab rangoon, sweet and sour chicken, pretty much everything.
@juliebird6, you have my empathy on the heartburn. I got it at 8w with DS2. It started threatening at 12w with this one and is now full on at 14w. At least I know it'll keep the weight gain down, since it's eat and be miserable, or don't eat and no heartburn.
My experience so far is that this old wives tale is true: heartburn equals hairy baby. DD1 and FS2 both had a headful of hair, and I had heartburn starting at 24w and 8w. DS1 was nearly blonde and no heartburn whatsoever.
@cagncoo12 I’m also super bummed about Zantac being a no no! It totally got me through my previous pregnancies (and also every day life because I have GERD). I was prescribed Aciphex with DD1 and it helped.
hahaha omg @aisukurimsarang I never heard that before about the heartburn and the hair!
DH and I always joke that there are certain combinations of our two looks that will make very beautiful children and other combinations that will make painful looking children lol. He is italian with a lovely olive skin tone and lots of dark hair. I have blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. A boy with his skin tone and my eyes will be very handsome - a girl with my skin tone and my husband's hair all over her will be rough LOL.
How are you feeling this week? Starting to feel good again!! It’s still shocking to want to eat veggies and salads tho - it was a looong first trimester!
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? @aisukurimsarang I’m with you, I love a good salad. But all-time favorite meal is probably similar to @forevertired - a medium rare fillet with some awesome potatoes and a glass of wine. Oh man I could eat that meal forever! (Yeaaaaa meat & potatoes @juliebird6 🙌🏻)
@bbrahmbhatt RLP sucks!! It’s always been a sudden twinge for me if I move too quickly, definitely feeling it when I sneeze. But yea, often comes and goes super fast.
@aisukurimsarang I’ve totally heard of the hair + heartburn thing - and experienced it! #1&2 no heartburn & mostly bald blonde babies. With #3 I had heartburn and she was born with a good amount of dark hair!!
@aisukurimsarang I totally believed the heart burn thing after DD. I had it BAD and she was born with a lovely head of super dark hair. But...then DS came around and I didn’t have heart burn at all and he also was born with a nice head of dark hair. So, we’ll see how this time shakes out.
@theblondebump my DH and I are very similar to you. He’s super Italian, much darker skin than me, dark hair. I’m pasty, blonde (ish, not so much right now with my current hair) with blue eyes. Our kids both were born with jet black hair - DD with olive skin. Both of their hair has lightened dramatically — DS was almost blonde this summer! And DD’s skin also lightened significantly. Her skin is much more like mine now (unfortunately for her 😂). It's always fun to see what sort of gene combo you end up with!!
@theblondebump@juliebird6 I'm with you guys...I'm very pale, with light hair and blue eyes. MH is Indian, so darker skin, black hair, brown eyes. I'm hoping we have a nice mix without the hairiness of MH lol.
Lol y’all my kids are so doomed, I’m as hairy as my husband even though my hair (on my head) is blonde. I’ve been waxing my mustache since I was like 15. sorry kids 😂
@theblondebump@juliebird6@bbrahmbhatt I'm all northern European and quite pale, though not blonde, with hazel eyes. My husband is half Irish and half Chinese, and he looks pretty Asian with thick dark hair & dark eyes and a darker skin tone than me. Our first son looks more like me with my complexion (sorry kid) and blue eyes (though neither of us have blue eyes!). I'm hoping this next one is not as pale with sensitive skin.
lol exactly! @bbrahmbhatt I'm like pleaseee just don't let my poor daughters be as hairy as DH lol.
haha @juliebird6 DH has been asking me all quarantine, "isn't there some way you can wax that at home?" in reference to my upper lip HAHA. Sorry not sorry. If I can't go get my pedicures, I sure as hell am not worried about waxing my lip.
DH and I have fairly similar skin tones, he’s just a bit more pale than me. He sunburns really easily, and unfortunately DD1 inherited that from him! DD2 and I don’t really burn. I’m hoping baby 3 gets that trait from me - I hate watching DD1 deal with sunburns.
The heartburn/hairy kid myth was true for my girls! Awful heartburn for me, full heads of hair for them.
@theblondebump hahaha that's hilarious. YH should be thankful for whatever hair removal you decide to do during a pandemic. Its been chilly in Chicago, so its' been pants and sweats for awhile now, and I've been a little lax in shaving my legs. MH only made one small comment, probably bc he fears for his safety with my recent irritability lol
Fun fact: So on heartburn and hairy babies, there is actually a connection, you’re not making it up! When the momma has a higher level of estrogen is can lead to increased heartburn because it makes the esophagus muscles relax allowing the acid to come up more easily. But the higher estrogen level can also simultaneously trigger hair growth! It has nothing to do with gender of baby, just the momma’s hormone levels!
How far along are you? I’m 14+ 3
How are you feeling this week? Better I guess. I had a few days with some extra gumption and actually got some housework caught up and we went to the pumpkin patch. Headaches/migraines are come and go. But they don’t seem to last quite as long as a migraine normally does for me so that’s helpful. I was so proud, I’d gone like 5 days without vomiting while still taking all of my nausea meds, and then last night I took my vitamins and one felt like it got stuck in my throat and I could taste it and I tried to take a drink and get it down but everything including the bowl of cereal if ate right before came out in one major projectile fashion. And not to make it too gross, but pregnancy gas is major for me right now.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Hard to say, I like the versatility of salad @aisukurimsarang (minus pregnancy when I apparently hate vegetables!) and I do also love pizza @theblondebump, but I like all types of pizza, like different sauces and how versatile that can be too! @kadeephd Indian is awesome! I love aloo gobi, warm paneer and chana masala!
This is too hard to choose and I now feel incredibly hungry and want everything because everything sounds like my favorite!
How are you feeling this week? I am starting to feel a teeny bit better as far as nausea and exhaustion is concerned, which is magnificent. I also feel a little crazy, but I swear I feel little flutters?? This is my (hopefully) third successful pregnancy, so I know what movement feels like at this point but I am still questioning it.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Ohhhh SUSHI! A nice scallop roll with yum yum sauce and then sushi with all kinds of white fish and tuna with some deep fried gyoza and hot sake is my jam. Closely followed by the Der Dutchman Amish food buffet and Thanksgiving.

How are you feeling this week? The exhaustion is getting me down. And the nausea is still lingering. Plus headaches. Fun stuff.
GTKY: What is your all-time favorite meal? Filet with a loaded baked potato and salad. It doesn’t even sound appealing now though which bums me out.
How are you feeling this week? Eh, not awful, not great. The nausea is letting up, but still tired. Also, I think I might be having RLP.
