Do you have any recommendations on: 1) Pregnancy/parenthood-related books for first-time dads? 2) Other ways you've involved and engaged your partner in your pregnancy?
I am still so bummed that DH can't come to any appointments with me because of COVID and want to create some more fun ways to help make this more "real" to him and help him feel involved and prepared. He doesn't have any close guy friends who are dads except his boss, and they don't talk about dad stuff.
As we get further in, I'm sure we'll look for some virtual birthing classes together but looking for other stuff he or we can do on our own. TIA!
@ec1212 The hospital we went to had a first time dad's class, you may look into that? Also, you might consider doing an ultrasound at an elective place where he can go with you.
@ec1212 my fiancé has an audiobook of The Expectant Father (also available as a regular book) and he likes to "read" his monthly chapters while he walks the dog or drive to work.
@texas_t - wanted you to know that after I saw yesterday where my doctor found the heartbeat, I decided today to quickly break out the at-home one to see if it would pick anything up @11 weeks. I only plan to use it once or twice a week max, but wanted to see if I could find it. I found it right away in the same spot my doc was on, close to the center of my belly and just barely above where my pubic bone ends!! It wasn't loud enough to register bpm on the screen, but it was there nonetheless. A little galloping horse in there - so cool!
@ruby0902 That makes me so excited! I have an appt next wednesday where he'll listen to the heartbeat again, and then I should get the doppler at the end of next week, so I'll make a mental note of where baby is chilling and start there! how exciting!
Do you only feel round ligament pain when you move around / move too fast? I started feeling some unpleasant "pulling" or sharp cramps Wed. night and yesterday and wonder if it's RLP, but it wasn't tied to moving around.
