Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Wednesday 10/14

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • Month/Cycle: 23/25

    CD/DPO: 19/4

    Timing: -4,2,-1,O+1

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: Probably 10 DPO

R/R: Non-work rant today! We are buying a car from Carvana and when I placed the “order” it told me to bring the insurance information with us when we picked it up, so I emailed my insurance agent and gave her the date I needed it by. Then I get a call yesterday at 5 pm that we have 2 hours to provide the information or we will have to place our order again. I was at work not able to deal with it plus I can’t make my agent get me the information immediately so I was so irritated. I hate when stuff like this happens and the customer service people are all like “I understand how that would be frustrating” 😡.  I guess they still hold the car for 24 hours so we have a little more time but it is so annoying.

My rave is that I’d say I’m in average shape at work but I’ll take it - in theory will have time to get everything done but it’s a gamble which things I should tackle first and run the risk of things popping up on the other stuff last minute.

    CS/Q:

  • Loading the player...
  • @bows22 a new car is fun! What kind of car are you getting?

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 31/12

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: ?

Testing: BFN today and temp dip below cover line... waiting on AF now

R/R: I’m bummed that this cycle ended up in AF, but this cycle did make me realize that I have an 11-12 day LP (I think?).

CS/Q: I am considering OPKs for this next cycle, but I have never used them. What brand does everyone use?

  • @bows22 That is so frustrating about the insurance! I’m also feeling happy about being in an average place at work this week after putting in some extra time yesterday. I’ve been feeling under water for the last few weeks (sounds like you have been feeling similarly) so I will take average.

    Month/Cycle: 10/3 AL

    CD/DPO: 17/1

    Timing: -2,-1,O

    Typical LP length: 13

Testing: I’m hoping to have the willpower to WFAF. All I have is one FRER so I’m hoping that will help.

R/R: I had a moment of legitimate excitement yesterday about EWCM. I generally suck at CM tracking, but yesterday was the first time I can confidently say that I definitely identified EWCM. Oh, what TTC does to the brain!

CS/Q: Temp was up yesterday which will confuse FF, but I had some wine the night before, and the +OPK, EWCM, and ovulation pain all suggest O was yesterday rather than Monday. Either way, I decided to move to the TWW.

  • @bows22, a new car sounds fun! What kind!
    @daisy528, sorry about the dip.
@fitzfizz, TTC is so weird. The things you get excited for.

    CD/DPO: 35/3

    Timing: O-1

    Typical LP length: unsure

Testing: October 21 if AF doesn’t come

R/R: We are going back into partial lockdown tonight at 10 pm  😭😭. Gonna enjoy one last cafe visit for a chai latte before I can’t for several weeks.

    CS/Q: got CH today.

@daisy528 I use easy@home brand. I like them and they are fairly inexpensive. You can get a 100 pack with 20 HCG tests on Amazon for about $25.

  • We’re getting a Toyota 4Runner. It’s for DH to drive so it’s exciting but not quite as much for me haha. He’s really excited though so that makes me happy

@daisy528 I use wondfos and I recently added the clear blue digital advanced because I feel like it gives me more of a heads up. But they are so expensive so I don’t think I’ll use them much longer.

@fitzfitzz it’s sad that average is such a welcome change haha. I agree, you are definitely going to get CH for Monday but maybe if you discard the temp it will adjust. Agree also that you definitely ovulated though

@ak@AKuzReve I’m sorry about the lockdown! Get all of the treats today! I hope you have a lot of booze at home haha

    CD/DPO: 25 / 7

    Timing: okay

Typical LP length: not sure yet

    Testing: probably Saturday

R/R: Rave: I finally got some good sleep last night! May be due to the Benadryl I took before going to sleep but I feel so refreshed 🤗

CS/Q: first chart ever! I’m hoping for a nice length LP

@bows22 ughhh that is so frustrating about the car! Customer service gets under my skin with their faux concern. Hope it all gets settled out!

@daisy528 I use the Premom ones, plus there’s an app! I love the clear blue digital ones but they are just so damn expensive

@fitzfizz good job identifying that CM!! I’m terrible at it too. Everything always feels the same 🙈. I have one FRER too so it’s working to keep me restrained.

@AKuzReve oh no!! Another partial lockdown? Where do you live?

  • @AKuzReve oh no! Where do you live? Definitely enjoy that chai latte!

@bows22 oh man that is so annoying about the insurance proof timing changing like that. I'm very interested to hear how the overall experience is when everything's said and done. Glad you're at a ok spot with work this week!!

    @daisy528 sorry about the BFN!

@fitzfizz glad you're not drowning at work either! It definitely looks like o happened and you have great timing!
  • Month/Cycle: 18

    CD/DPO: 21/7

    Timing: -2, -1

    Typical LP length: 12-14

    Testing: maybe this weekend

R/R: ugh SS is so bad for me this cycle. Cramping at 4 dpo is most likely gas, not implantation, right? 🤣 I'm also bruising like crazy (klutz here) and I'm assuming that means the daily baby aspirin is making some kind of difference.

Yesterday I got a $1k medical bill from last year that it looks like my insurance just denied. I was super cranky about it last night. Of course I got it on prime day so I'm done shopping for a few days lol. Trying not to look at Amazon today.

    CS/Q:

  • @_orchid_ appeal to your insurance! I spent a year and half arguing with my insurance about a $1k bill they refused to cover. Eventually they gave in. Took a long time but it’s the principle.
  • *lurking from WTO*
@daisy528 I also use easy@home with the Premom app but note that your LP is from ovulation to CD 1 or AF. My temp always drops early and I have another day or two until AF arrives so your LP might be closer to 13-14 days.

@daisy528 I use Pregmate OPK strips and have been happy with them. They're also inexpensive, which has been handy since I've apparently needed a lot of them. I

@bows22 I was so tempted by Carvana when we were shopping last year, car buying sucks

@AKuzReve Ugh, I'm sorry about the lockdown. Unfortunately I'm expecting some of those to pop up as we move into fall/winter. We're not going crazy, but trying to slowly prepare ourselves for things to get worse here as well.

@_orchid_ Ugh, regarding the insurance. I definitely got myself all up in arms about some medical bills (to myself, because there wasn't much I could really do about it). I tried to focus on being thankful that we can afford them, as for many people it would have been a hardship.

    Month/Cycle: 28/2 AL

    CD/DPO: 23/8

    Timing: -3, -1

    Typical LP length: 14-15 days

    Testing: only if late

R/R: Rave -- In a "coaching for leaders" training this week, which is interesting, weather is lovely. Got a COVID test yesterday, which wasn't that bad. There was a line, but only took 20 minutes to get in and out. I'm glad the city has set these up so that people can easily get tested; Rant -- carton of blueberries (that I got for my husband two weeks ago and he decided not to eat) fell on me and exploded all over the kitchen. I told him I'm never buying him blueberries again. In the training we did an exercise where we had to think up a "peak" moment in our lives, and my mind instantly went to last fall (first pregnancy pre-loss, bought a house, got a promotion, etc) and I couldn't stop crying. Luckily when we went into breakout groups I was paired with someone I somewhat know who gave me time to compose myself and think up a different story to share. I think I failed that exercise.

    CS/Q: none right now

  • @chindimples04, @bows22, @mc0303, @krash_, and @akoros - thanks for all of your suggestions. As expected, AF arrived today so ordering some OPKs for this next cycle.
  • @daisy528 in case you're as research minded as I am, here are a couple of good blog article about OPKs: https://modernfertility.com/blog/ovulation-tests/https://proovtest.com/blogs/blog/opk-experiment (this last one is an experiment that had her using 13 different OPKs to figure out which one she liked best.)

  • @mc0303 that's awesome that you got your insurance to cover that bill! Unfortunately won't work for me- this was part of my deductible. They didn't send me the bill until this week, so I didn't realize it was still out there. MH had surgery last September and we met our family deductible from that, just didn't realize I didn't actually pay it yet. Ugh adulting.

@akoros sending you so much ♥️. I sometimes get hit from out of nowhere with sadness about my losses, and it's hard when it's in front of other people. It happens a lot with music when I hear songs that reminds me of those times. I hope you're able to find some peace tonight. Thinking of you ♥️
  • @daisy528 I think we simul-posted this am, so sorry I missed you. I use the wondfo brand, but lately I have had some that are really light, so I don’t love them.

@AKuzReve I hope you enjoyed the last latte!

@mc0303 Your chart looks good for being new! I try not to take Benadryl often, but it is the best sleep when I do take it.

@_orchid_ I told myself I wasn’t going to symptom spot this time because **TW** I didn’t even have any symptoms for the first few weeks when I was pregnant with my loss earlier this year**end TW** and already yesterday (AKA I literally was actively still ovulating at the time) and I had to talk myself out of SS when I felt slightly nauseated. 🙄

@akoros Ah that is a tough one. It really sucks when your brain goes to those places and you aren’t alone where you can really process the feelings. You are not alone, and I hope it gets better for you soon. ❤️

  • @_orchid_ ugh I’m sorry! That stinks to get unexpected news like that. Insurance is the worst.
  • @mc0303 a good nights sleep is everything!!

@_orchid_ I agree you should appeal your insurance! At least to make sure it wasn’t a mistake!

@akoros oh I’m so sorry that happened to you today. That’s wonderful though that you were paired with someone that wasn’t a total stranger.

@daisy528 I’m so sorry for AF!
