  Your doctor said it will be ok.  If you are not 100" sure talk to your pharmacist for a second opinion.  My sugvestion: if you don't trust your doctor over a otc med. Then you need to find one you trust

  Honestly, it's always just a gamble.  You've got to weigh the benefits and the risks for any medication, and even more so while PG.  I've been on ranitidine for over 15 years for my GERD, took it during all of my pregnancies (which everyone and the doctors all said was fine), and suddenly they determined Ranitidine/Zantac is so carcinogenic they've pulled it from the shelves for almost a year now and it may never come back. I have been taking Fomotadine (Pepcid) since then.  Honestly, I'd talk to your doctor about the nexium and your PG to confirm, but also I'd look at some research studies for the bad side effects of nexium during the long-term in general!!!!
