Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Wednesday 10/7

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. • @bows22 Gah, that is so confusing. I haven’t used the CBDA system before so I can’t be of much help. I know the wondfos aren’t technically quantitative, but do you not typically get some darkening of the test line before it gets truly positive?

    Month/Cycle: 10/3 AL

    CD: 10

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs

R/R: I literally had a dream I got cross hairs early, which made me paranoid so I used an OPK this morning. It was negative of course (because obviously). I think we need to start EOD just so I won’t be worried. Husband will likely be happy with this plan.

Also, I have reached a point of literally hoping we get hit by a hurricane on Friday, just so I don’t have to go to work. FX?

CS/Q: A fairly unremarkable set of low temps

  • Yeeeeehaw, I’m getting in early today!😁

@bows22 I lol-ed at your “TLDR: I’m a mess”. I hope everything becomes clear when the Wondfos arrive! Honestly, I read so many confusing or tricky questions with the CBDA that I wonder how you all stick with it?

@fitzfizz Sounds like you need a sabbatical or change of location from work! I didn’t comment yesterday but it sounds like you’re really getting pushed to the limit with patient boldness & long work hours. Hope you get some reprieve soon—but not in the form of a hurricane!😬

    Month/Cycle: 29/who knows?

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: Meds, vitamins, supposedly healthy diet. I’m slacking this cycle—just burnt out on all of it

R/R: It’s almost 2 am for me & I just finished work. Have to be up soon for work trainings that start at 6 am my time.😱 They're accommodating everyone else in more convenient time zones, of course. This will go on all week. I’m already exhausted. So I may not be very present in TTGP the rest of the week, we will see how this goes! If I don’t see you, have a wonderful rest of your week, everyone!

CS/Q: Nothing to show yet. I usually have high OPKs by now but they’re pretty much  blank right now. <Shrug>

  • @keikilove When I saw you posted I was wondering why you were up at some ungodly hour in your time zone. I originally thought you might just be up really late haha
  • @fitzfizz Yep, I just finished work for one of my gigs. Now gonna lay it down for a few hours before joining those early trainings for my main job 😴💤
  • @bows22 the CBDA tests scare me. 🤣 They seem so overwhelming. I hope you are ovulating now and everything is right on track.
@fitzfizz I have some friends who live right underneath the new projected path. Crazy late hurricane. Stay safe and maybe take a vacation day? You deserve the break and rest.
@keikilove holy moly girl! That’s a late night and early morning! I hope you get at least a little rest!

    Month/Cycle: 4/5

CD: 4? I already forgot what day it was. 🤣

    WAYDTGKU: all the things

R/R: MIL decided she wanted to come over for a breakfast visit. Yippee..... I have no interest in talking about SIL and BIL so I hope she keeps her mouth shut. I’m working from home today even though DH will be home. I only have one Zoom meeting so decided I’d just hang out here. On an even rantier note, my admin decided I needed ANOTHER student. So, when we go back in person, I will have 18 kids while everyone else has 15 or 16. I don’t have room for another desk, so I have no idea how they plan to shove another kid in my room, but I’m super frustrated by it. I was also warned the parent is a pain in the ass and can be super rude. Awesome, just what I needed. Thanks admin.

    CS/Q: Just low AF temps.

  • Hi friends! I've been struggling to participate in the dailies with how crazy work is but I'm gonna try and be here today.

@bows22 dying at your TL;DR. Hopefully you'll get clarity when the wondfos arrive.

@fitzfizz ahh those dreams get me every time. Sounds like a good plan to start EOD.

@keikilove ooof that sounds rough! Good luck!

@chindimples04 ugh that's all so frustrating. Has there been any word about when you'll have to go back in person?
  • Month/Cycle: 16/10

    CD: 34

WAYDTGKU: temping, prenatals, OPKs, and HIO of course

R/R: Where are you O???? Ughhhh. So frustrated that I haven't O'd yet. Also the school district I live in (but I teach in the next town over) got its first covid positive student. Supposedly the student wasn't in close contact with anyone though so no students or teachers are being told to quarantine, though I can't imagine how that could be the case. It's a little scary how close to home this is getting for schools. I know it's only a matter of time before we get a case in my district. Cases are starting to increase rapidly in NY again.

    CS/Q:

  • @gingermama29 We go week by week, but we need to be under 25 cases per 100,000 and right now, we are at an average of 46 cases per 100,000, so not anytime soon. Our district has had 35 positive cases, and we are down to 5 since switching to 100% virtual.

  • Month/Cycle: 5/1 AL

    CD: 8?

    WAYDTGKU: opks, temps

    R/R: Eh

CS/Q: NO IDEA what is going on this cycle, which I am chalking up to being AL. I started using my CBDA around two weeks AL (about a week ago), and it went off almost right away to "high", but so far no peak. Cheapie opks have been *almost* positive the whole time and then yesterday were actually positive, but I still likely have some hcg hanging around. Meanwhile cm has been inconsistent and temps rose a little yesterday (which I chalked up to having 2 drinks the night before), but then even more today, to like post-O temps for me.  So basically, no idea what is going on. Maybe O-ed yesterday? Maybe today? Maybe 3 days ago? Maybe in a week?

I would share the chart but I am a newb and don't know how...

  • @bows22 That is annoying. I find sometimes my CBDA does the opposite-- it is a little trigger happy on the "high" (goes off on like CD 7), but then is late to the party for peak or misses it entirely. I end up doing cheapies in conjunction and then just like peeing on way too many things.

@fitzfizz Omg FF dreams. I am in general a fan of the when in doubt EOD as long as it doesn't become a chore...

@keikilove Ugh-- that sounds miserable. GL staying awake!

@chindimples04 Can't tell if your "yipee" is sarcastic or not, but sometimes (esp with parents/inlaws) I literally like practice what I will say if they bring something up I don't want to talk about it (and MH is good at butting in also). Maybe you can just have a version of "It makes me a little sad and I don't want to talk about it" up your sleeve just in case?

@gingermama29 That is scary. Hopefully your school is taking enough precautions that even if there is a case it won't lead to major outbreak. But in some places that's hard to do!

  • I think I might have O'ed yesterday, but I don't know for sure so continuing to hang around here until I'm certain.

@bows22 I have some experience using the CBDA and basically, what I get from it is, if you don't start using it early enough to catch the gradual rise in Estrogen, then the results are probably not very reliable. I once tried using them to confirm O, so started 1-2 days before positive other OPK, and the CBDA went from negative to peak in 1 day. Not a doctor here, but I would say that means your surge is starting but peak hasn't happened.

@fitzfizz I can't in good conscience wish a hurricane upon you; instead I'll say that I hope you can find some solution to your overwork dilemma stat.

@keikilove holy moly lady, I hope you managed to get a few hours of shut-eye before your 6am meetings! And hopefully you can get to bed early tonight so that you can get through the rest of the week.

@chindimples04 I'm sorry that another student got dumped on you; your entire work situation sounds very complex. Sending you virtual hugs of support.

@gingermama29 I am so sorry that you still haven't O'ed. ☹️ Also sounds like your work situation is getting worse. Argh... another closure is likely inevitable.

@bumblebee0210  Are you posting to TB via your mobile or from a computer? I do both, and I usually only add my chart when I'm on my mobile since it's easy to take a screen shot & add it in a spoiler. When I post from my computer I don't bother with the chart.

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + TI, vits/supps, baby aspirin. Blood testing for me; more in depth urology testing for MH.

R/R: Yesterday I was in a great deal of pelvic/ovarian pain so my mind immediately went down the OHSS route (and plenty of Google searches confirmed that you can get OHSS from Clomid if you have ~5 large follicles.) Basically, it was difficult to go from sitting to standing, and also to walk around. MH was very concerned. I ended up sprawling on the couch after dinner, and taking copious amounts of Tylenol. This AM the pain is better. I've also posted to the local IVF/Infertility Facebook group and ppl have opined that yesterday's pain was likely O pain, and that it can get pretty bad during medicated cycles. I also emailed the clinic last night and still haven't heard back from them!

I had my therapy session this morning (I'm seeing a therapist who specializes in infertility) and ranted to her that MH still hasn't scheduled f/u appointments after his urology consult. He said to me on Friday, when he got all the instructions, "I will take care of this on Monday." Today is Wed, and still nothing is scheduled. (And I did ask him again both Monday and yesterday). Next steps: will say nothing today, but if he still hasn't done something by tomorrow, I will have a serious discussion w/ him about this tomorrow. He's essentially preventing any "next step" discussions from happening, since these next steps require that he completes all his testing.

CS/Q: I posted to the Chart Stalk / Questions thread this AM, so won't bother posting here too. Basically, temp rise cannot yet confirmed that I've O'ed, hence why I'm still here.

  • @bows22 yikes! That sounds way overwhelming. Hopefully the wondfos give you additional clarity/peace of mind tomorrow haha.

@fitzfizz I’m always thrown for the whole day when I have those kinds of dreams. Sorry you’re still feeling overwhelmed with work...hopefully you will get some time off!!

@keikilove that is some schedule! Yuck! Hopefully you get some rest today haha

@chindimples04 I hope your breakfast was uneventful with your MIL. And I’m so sorry that they’re adding another student to your room, especially one with a difficult parent!

@gingermama29 my district has had a couple of cases, but luckily none in my school yet. We are still plugging away in person, but it definitely makes me anxious.

@bumblebee0210 sorry for the cycle confusion! I too just screenshot my chart and add it in as an image in a spoiler from mobile

@acleverusername I’m sorry that YH still hasn’t scheduled his f/u...I would be so frustrated. It sounds like you have a good plan for bringing it up, and hopefully it feels productive. Sorry for the (probable) O pain yesterday!

    Month/Cycle: 11/10

    CD: 14

    WAYDTGKU: Clomid, ovidrel, IUI

R/R: I’m feeling MUCH more caught up on both work and sleep than I was yesterday. I felt so productive today. I also got my flu shot at work today and my arm already hurts. I’d rather have a sore arm than the flu though, so I’ll suck it up haha.

    CS/Q:

  • @fitzfizz I was testing twice a day with the wondfos and I really wasn’t seeing a gradual darkening. Maybe slightly, but not significant enough to be sure it wasn’t just more concentrated pee. So sometimes I would get a positive out of nowhere. I hope your office closes as a precaution but it ends up being for nothing! That seems like an OK thing to hope? haha

@keikilove glad I could make you laugh! I hope you got some restful sleep!

@chindimples04 they were always overwhelming to me too! I honestly don’t know what even made me decide to try them. That’s so annoying about your new student - it doesn’t make sense when I’m sure the kids need to be a certain distance apart?

@gingermama29 what? I would think his class/teacher would need to quarantine but yikes.

@bumblebee0210 you can just upload your chart as a picture! Do you know how to do a spoiler? It’s under the paragraph symbol next to bold and italics. You just click inside the gray box, then upload the photo. Easy peasy! I love looking at other people’s charts haha

@acleve@acleverusername your thoughts on the CBDA are my understanding as well. I don’t want to ovulate this early due to what that means for period timing, so hopefully it’s just messed up. As far as your H, if I have to remind mine to do something I always text him when he’s usually eating lunch. Seems to yield the best results!

@runningoncookies I’m glad you are feeling caught up at work! Send some of that my way. My arm was really sore after my flu shot too this year! But I agree it’s worth it to avoid the flu or get a lesser version of it at least! There was a post in a local Facebook group about the flu vaccine and it’s making me ragey.
  • @chindimples04 I have a half day of vacation scheduled next week and I left work before 7 today! These are my victories over work

@gingermama29 Come on ovaries! Do you have any plans for clomid or letrozole?

@bumblebee0210 Chart would be helpful but it does sound like you already ovulated. The actual act has yet to become a chore, but I am ready to sleep by 9 pm lately and MH definitely is not, so I have to get creative if I want to get to sleep on time.

@acleverusername Your husband needs to get his act in gear! They comparatively have to do so little for this process, they need to snap to when something falls to them.

@runningoncookies Yeah, I cant shake the feeling all day that I already missed ovulation, even though this logically isn’t the case. Dreams can really mess with you.

@bows22 Your precautionary closure plan sounds reasonable. Although hurricanes can occasionally be serious, most hurricane days are just like snow days in that you don’t have to go to work, but everything is fine by the next day. I guess that is really what I am hoping for. As of now, we are still supposed to be open. Booooo
  • Thanks, all, for commiserating with my exhausted self. No rest for the weary. Today was a beast: meetings just ended & now it’s time to get back on laptop to work on documents & grading. Ready for this hectic week to be over!

@chindimples04 Hope the visit with MIL went well! Hopefully she didn’t say anything you didn’t care to hear about. Also, sorry about your additional student. The unbalanced rosters is so unfair.

@gingermama29 It sounds like many of us are having a real time of it with work lately. Hang in there! I hope you are able to stay safe even as cases are going up.🤞🏽

@bumblebee0210 Sorry about the confusing cycle! That is so frustrating. Hope you get confirmation of O sooner rather than later. Same for you, @acleverusername.

Also, @acleverusername Happy belated birthday! Glad you had such a nice one!

@runningoncookies Glad you’re feeling well-rested & productive! Send some my way please. :)

@bows22 You always keep me smiling or laughing. Thanks friend! 😄💓😍

  • @keikilove (and @kiki047) : I didn't comment re: your advice for vaginal temping as I didn't want to bump up yesterdays thread. I actually got myself a Tempdrop back in June, and I've finally – after 3 months of temping both ways – fully switched over to it. I hope that it gives me accurate temps, though it's annoying since the algorithm adjusts temps for previous 2 days. I paid extra to be able to return it within a year, so if I'm finding it's not doing the trick for me, I think I might go back to my old bbt thermometer and give vaginal temping a try.

  • @fitzfizz my doctor said to try naturally for 3 cycles after finishing BC. I'm currently on cycle 2 but it's already much longer than my last which is how my cycles usually are. If I'm not KU after those cycles, I'm supposed to call and then we look into medicated cycles. I'm just unsure if I should wait 3 full cycles given how long this one already is. If I don't get KU this cycle, I may call and see what they think.
