How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? Anything different from past, non ama pregnancies? My feelings about this one are ALL over the board. I feel horrible physically - worse than either of my 2 previous pregnancies. Not sure if that's just the luck of the draw, because I'm old, or because I have a 3.5 and 2 year old to keep up with now. Probably combination of all of those. But mentally, I am stuck in this hard place right now where I cannot fathom what we've done and how I possibly thought we could add another baby to this chaos. I know it will pass and we will be fine ultimately, but I've had some dark days lately. I'm hopeful that once I start feeling a little better and am firmly out of the first trimester, this dread and fear will go away and I'll get into "excited" mode. I know we have a few fourth time moms here...please say that's true!
How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? Anything different from past, non ama pregnancies? I am excited, but nervous *TW due to prior loss end TW*. I am getting more excited as we continue to progress. I don't know what its like to not be pregnant and AMA (I just turned 35 in August), so I'm hoping to learn a lot from all of you ladies!
**Lurking but not AMA** @juliebird6 Umm I have a 3yo and 16mo and am also like "oh my gosh what have we done" while I feel so crappy. I do not remember thinking that when I was pregnant with DD2. I think some of this is covid-related and the lack of things to do (plus at least in our situation working at home with DD2 with us all day and DD1 only in PT daycare). I'm very confident that once I feel better I'll be singing a different tune so haven't gotten too down about it. Also, this pregnancy is so much worse with the morning sickness/tiredness and I'm only 31.
Ftm/stm/stm+? This baby will be #3. I have 5 and 3 year olds.
How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? Anything different from past, non ama pregnancies? This one is a complete surprise. So thought I was done. I was not AMA for my first two. I suppose I am a little less nauseous this time and a little more tired. Not sure how much of the fatigue is pregnancy though. I'm now a single mom of 2 littles and have been a bit depressed. Like @juliebird6 and @kvh22 I feel like how am I going to handle 3 when 2 are kicking my ass? But it's not all bad. I have never felt more confident when it comes to newborn care specifically.
@bbrahmbhatt totally anecdotal, but I had DS at 34, and the whole experience was a "breeze". Pregnancy, delivery, newborn stage. I felt like mid 30s is a good age for dealing with it all.
Ok sneaking in. Like @juliebird6, as much as I don’t want to fall in this category, I go here.

How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? Anything different from past, non ama pregnancies?
Not really, this feels very similar to my last. (was also AMA with the last). Just queasy, bloated, tired and cranky. This time maybe a little more tired because now I’m chasing a toddler? My first I was 29, and I had twins, so none of my subsequent pregnancies can compare to how sick and miserable I was with that one. Thankful to not relive that experience at 38!
@Lexibizzel I also thought the newborn phase was a breeze with the last and I enjoyed it so much. But, it helped that my two oldest were 7. With my girls, I wished the newborn phase away every day. I don’t know if it was because I really didn’t understand what I was in for, or there were two of them, but yikes. I am hoping this one goes as smoothly as baby #3.
How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? My first (DS 3) was unplanned and really kind of threw my life into chaos but I had a super easy pregnancy with him. I was 35 then. I did have a very terrible, complicated delivery but my complications all came at the end but I never had any spotting, MC scares or even nausea. I was traveling, exercising and working the whole way through. With this one im 38 and have had nausea, fatigue and bleeding that had me sooo anxious. I’m hoping I’m “paying my dues” early this time and will at least have a healthy uncomplicated third trimester and delivery this time around. Definitely feeling the “what have I done” vibes @juliebird6@kvh22! I wasn’t expecting that this time around since it was planned but man am I tired!

Hugs to all you mamas feeling the “what have I done” feelings. I’m still in that camp as well and have not gotten to the excited point. I’m praying once I feel a bit better and after I get genetic testing back, I will start to feel excited. It’s such a weird place to be. I know baby’s are a blessing. I know their is a bigger picture than what I imagined for my family. But that doesn’t make any of the impending craziness easier. It’s already nuts here. I am more exhausted and have had worse nausea this time. It’s been rough, not going to lie. And I just turned 36 so barely ama!!! Ha!
Yay for 38 year olds! I'm one too. Found out I was expecting 2 days after my birthday.
@BuckeyeNut05 Yes! So my first newborn experience with DD was a nightmare. I was floored that DS was so easy. I thought all those stories about happy babies were exaggerations. I think this diverse set of behaviors is good preparation for #3. Plus, I'm hopeful that DD, who will be almost 6 when this one arrives, may be a help. She is a total rough and tumble tomboy, but maybe I can get caregiving to grow on her. I'm actually more optimistic about DS, who will be 4 and is more sweet/considerate in general.
How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? Anything different from past, non ama pregnancies? I feel way worse this time. I never threw up with my first pregnancy, and had bad headaches but not the migraines I'm getting now. I feel completely depressed because I've had a migraine for almost a week now. It's making me feel like the worst mom and wife because all I'm doing is laying on the couch. I'm also starting to remember the newborn phase and dreading it... but every baby is different, and there's nothing you can do, right?
Ftm/stm/stm+? 4th time mom, hopefully. @juliebird6, I keep looking at my fussy, drooling, teething 8mo and asking myself if I was insane. But, then I see how happy my man is, and remind myself it's only 3 years until DS2 is in PreK!
How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? I'm more concerned with the NIPT. I'm 43 this time. I wonder if we pushed our luck. I'm ferrirified of the US on Monday, and dreading the long wait to get the NIPT backAnything different from past, non ama pregnancies? Not really. I'm exhausted, but I attribute that to chasing and dealing with an infant.
@aisukurimsarang I'm happy to hear your US went well and you feel a bit relieved! Seeing those growing babies never gets old. My last was at 8 weeks, it's amazing how much they change in that time.
I have my NT scan tomorrow, finally. Fingers crossed!
How do you feel about pregnancy at this time? Anything different from past, non ama pregnancies? I have been so so exhausted. Migraines weekly as well. I am a little stressed about changing our family dynamic. This was very unexpected, but I am started to get excited.
I got scans every month in my 1st pregnancy when I was 34-35 and in this pregnancy I’ve been getting them 2x a month. Just did the genetic testing yesterday - 10 days till results!!!
Thanks for the information @aisukurimsarang and @jenn622-2. This is my first AMA pregnancy and I have been really curious about what will be different in my care. All they've said is that I meet with the high risk doc and get that scan. Maybe it will depend on how the scan goes.
@jenn622-2 fingers crossed on your test! They told me 7-10 days for results (my test is Friday). Are you learning sex of your baby?
@Lexibizzel, it's my 3rd AMA pregnancy, but my 1st I was 34 (35 at delivery). I only had to have an amnio done (2011, literally right before NIPT was available.) I was 42 in my last pregnancy, and they started at 28w and went on until my induction at 39w. The perinatal clinic made a big deal out of me "graduating". It was really sweet.

ITS A GIRL!!!
everything looks good chromosome wise (phew). I had a feeling it was a girl and was kinda hoping it was because my first is a boy. So excited!!
