Weekly Randoms 9/28

Re: Weekly Randoms 9/28

  • @hannahbananas11 that is appropriate. It’s back to 80° and basically 100% humidity here today and I’m all bleh over it.

Sorry I’ve been MIA. It’s been a busy time for us. We drove to meet MH this past weekend and go camping so Thursday-Sunday were just super busy.

  • We are in the weird phase in the Midwest where you go from heat on to air conditioning on to back to heat all in the same day. It doesn’t help that my pregnancy congestion is awful anyways...just throw in this up and down weather and my head feels like a bomb about to explode.
  • Kudos to @jumpy57 for dealing with the very excited new poster today. I was half expecting snark from someone (or maybe that's just my internal monologue?) and your answer was very pleasant and informative ;)

  • @WildMagelet I know! I was about ready to type in some snark myself but then saw that @jumpy57 commented already and was all pleasant. That drive-by poster was spared from snark today. 😆
  • @WildMagelet and @hannahbananas11 I didn’t respond because I would have been snarky. 🤣
  • I figured a newbie deserved one fair warning and I must have been in a good mood 😂 I'm a bit sad we haven't seen an update though 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • I was also expecting some snark!  But this board is a lot nicer than my last board lol

I start work at 8. My “unofficial” boss starts at 7. He called me at 7:59 and wanted to talk about drawings and I didn’t even have my computer out yet. Luckily he doesn’t care and was like I’ll call you back in 10 minutes. But I guess I’ve gotten a little lazy in quarantine... I should work on that.
  • @moguippy he was one contacting you one minute before your “start” time! You’re not lazy. If anything, you’re a go-getter being available before your work day technically begins 😁
  • I want to post this horrifying pic the ultrasound tech sent to my phone as my addition to the ultrasound post but I don’t want to scare anyone 😂.
  • @moguippy Dude, no. You don't need to be up and ready to go 1 minute before work starts. Plus, most people start their day by going through emails, looking at their calendar and planning out their day. During my working days, I'd always wait at least 15 minutes before calling a colleague or scheduling a meeting. He needs to CHILL.

@birdiejo I'm allll for horrifying us pics. As long as it's horrifying in a funny way and not a heartbreaking way...which I'd still be ok with seeing in order to give support but not be all for it in a "Yeah! Share!" way...in case my first sentence sounded insensitive wanted to clear that up. LOL  When I had a measurement scan of DS done toward the end of pregnancy (he was measuring very large), one of the profiles of his face showed his nose as a horrible hook-looking nose, and I spent the following weeks until the next ultrasound worried that my child was going to have a very ugly nose.:lol::lol:
  • So I’ve been craving a caramel apple spice from Starbucks for a couple weeks. It just sounds good and it feels so good when I’m starting to get sick or my throat is scratchy from all the fall dust in the air. It’s harvest time on the farm.

So my sister is on the phone and I’m at Starbucks today ordering it... and they were out. 😣 And she’s like well good because that has a million calories in it and you don’t need to get fat.
    😑😑😑

#1, I don’t count calories. #2, that is not “looking at the bright side. #3, shut up.
  • @birdiejo post it in a spoiler and everybody wins!!!

@mdfarmchick she sounds like no fun, you should get a BIG one next time
  • Oh, forgot what I came here to post.
Possible TW for mouth blood 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been using a water flosser because I hate flossing and it's slightly less terrible. Tonight I decided to just use regular floss for some reason and all of a sudden my sink turned into a murder scene!!! Then of course I'm trying to rinse my mouth and then drop my towel and then bleed on the grout and not the middle of the floor tile 🙄 I didn't finish flossing, I might try again tomorrow. Stupid pregnancy gums
  • @moguippy 😂 our board is small! I didn't want to chase away a new friend! Also your boss needs to chill
  • @mdfarmchick I read your sister’s comment and said “RUDE” quite loudly. Who says that kind of thing to someone? 🤦‍♀️
  • @kkfishy9 spreadsheets and lists are my love language.
  • @hannahbananas11 @kkfishy9

I have shared Google Keep lists with DH for groceries, house projects, and camping meal plans 😂 and making a spreadsheet is my first step in solving any problem
  • @hannahbananas11 @jumpy57 Yes!! I just think it helps to have everything in one place then tackle it. It's too overwhelming to try to remember everything in my head.

  • My favorite pair of maternity jeans now have a giant hole in the crotch. It’s not on the seam so I don’t think I can fix it. I wore them a ton during my last pregnancy and I’m really sad. I got them at Motherhood Maternity so I’m wondering if I can find another pair 😭
  • @moguippy Noooo! That sucks! I hate hate hate jean shopping because they never fit me right, so when I find a pair that I actually like, I treasure them. I completely feel your pain. Hopefully if you find another pair from the same brand, they'll fit you similarly. Fingers crossed!
  • @hannahbananas11 - Big same. My non-maternity pants are almost all the exact brand, style and size, just in different fabrics, washes, lengths, and colorways.

  • H, who is a health nut extraordinaire, just agreed to get burgers from a new restaurant in town for dinner tonight! SCORE! I’ve been craving a burger for days. And they make their own buns and fries so you know it’ll be good. :yum:
  • @hannahbananas11 hope your burger was delicious! Lately I have been craving eating out and trying new restaurants and my fiance usually suggests cooking at home so I totally get the feeling of excitement when they agree to eat out 🤗
  • @babyturtle22 It was excellent! We had to reheat the fries and tater tots a bit since they weren't hot (we only do takeout right now because we're super cautious about COVID), but it definitely hit the spot! The tater tots were also good, and DS stole about half of H's tots. LOL
  • @moguippy - If they're only a smidge short, it's nothing that a cute pair of boots + boot socks/cuffs can't fix!

  • @mdfarmchick I loveeee caramel apple spice from Starbucks!!!

if anyone has a Biggby and needs to fill a cider craving try their hot caramel apple cider-it is amazingggg
  • @moguippy yay! I’ve felt kicks a couple times from the outside, but my H never gets the timing right. He’ll put his hand on my belly and then the baby will stop.

We’ve got a mini session for fall photos this evening, and today my allergies are in full force. Watery eyes and sneezing so I constantly look on the verge of crying. Grrreat. 🤦‍♀️
  • @hannahbananas11 we had just laid down in bed and (TMI I had a ton of gas and I think that had something to do with it?) and baby was kicking up a storm so I was like “H, quick!”.  Kicking has been super infrequent and usually only like one kick at a time so I think we just got lucky with the timing.

Sorry about the allergies! My eyes watered the second I walked outside and stopped the second I walked inside today. So annoying
  • Sorry I've been MIA all week! Thursday night I had some really severe pain in my side and back that the doctor thought was appendicitis. Turned out to be a gnarly kidney stone. Spent a quick night & day in the hospital but feeling as good as new. While we were there I got to see the baby on mri and it was super cool seeing how much space she's taking up in there.

In better news, we got our stroller today and I am obsessed! It was probably too soon to get it but I'm thrilled with the one we picked.

  • Oh no! @tamalahoops glad to hear you are feeling better! What stroller did you get??
  • We went with the nuna mixx next. We've been watching tons of comparison videos between that and the uppababy and I'm really happy with our choice.
