Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Friday 10/2

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • @bows22 Your pumpkin patch weekend sounds amazing and restful. Agreed, yay Friday!

    Month/Cycle: 10/3 AL

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs, planning SMEP, and trying to be as healthy as possible with eating and running

R/R: Work sucks. I’m annoyed that my employer basically used COVID to permanently change schedules so we see more people than ever before, and then publicly acts like they are doing things to keep people safe.

CS/Q: It’s only 5 days and still temps all over the place haha

  • @bows22 Ah, I am an economist, so I feel like we are cousins of sorts? This seems like a crazy year to take on a lot of new clients, but maybe a lot of people were in need of advice. The workout was sculpt society-- I am kind of an online workout connoisseur, because I *hate* running or any other repetitive form of cardio but I need to do something to get my heart rate up. I have been doing this one for a week or two and I like it. It's sort of Tracy Anedrson-ish in the actual workout, but is much more body positive and generally upbeat in tone.

@fitzfizz That is annoying-- I feel like lots of companies are going to keep the "emergency" changes that they find useful...

    Month/Cycle: 5/1 AL

    CD: 5?

WAYDTGKU: opks, temps, the usual stuff

R/R: Not much at the moment, just glad it's the weekend

    Also *tw pg*

A friend just gave birth to a healthy girl after a long bout with infertility and I am so happy for her. We are some of their only friends in the immediate area so I am like going overboard planning things to cook for them and trying to help out as much as possible. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel when this happened, but I am genuinely really excited for them.

CS/Q: None yet-- first cycle AL so expecting a weird one

  • I don’t know where I belong 😩😩😩. I think I might still be waiting to O. I had a temp dip this morning.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 23

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs, pnv, HIO

R/R:  I am so excited for the weekend! I am ready to relax. I plan to make biscuits and mini apple pies this weekend (all vegan as I can’t eat dairy). I am so excited.

CS/Q: As I said above, idkkkkk where I belong. My OPKs were lightning and temps rising so I thought ok TWW. Then temp dip and OPKs got a bit darker. What a F’ing shitshow. All the waiting is annoying enough even without this.I guess I will keep using OPKs and temping - good thing I ordered a new box.

@bows22 glad to hear that end of your crazy work period is in sight! Your weekend plans sound delightful, even though you have to work tomorrow.

@fitzfizz wow - that work situation sounds dangerous. Do you work in a large clinic or a hospital? Also no wonder you’re working such late hours. When will you revolt?

@bumblebee0210 I love that you are a “connaisseur” of online fitness! That’s probably the best thing to be in 2020! Also, in spoiler...

    *TW PG*
I totally know how you feel about your friend! A friend of mine just told me she was pregnant (when she got a positive pregnancy test!) and we’d been trying for about as long. I was giving her a play by play of our fertility journey and so it was so nice that she thought to share these news with me so early on. She was so sweet about it too.. “I hope that doesn’t make you sad...” and honestly I was really happy for her.

@AKuzReve it’s possible to have 2 LH surges... a small one then the “real” one. This is a great article that talks about all this stuff: https://modernfertility.com/blog/normal-lh-level/ (You’ll soon learn than I lean pretty heavily into research and like to share good links with this community!) Also remember that BBT isn’t a great predictor of O; it’s more of a confirmer/lagging indicator. Thanks to popular media for perpetuating a fallacy.

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD: 9

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + OPK + TI, supps/vits for both MH and I. Urology consult for MH and some more preventative blood testing for me.

R/R: rave — I slept so well last night! Which shouldn’t have been possible because we’re having a heat wave yet again and can’t open windows because of the poor air quality. And no one in SF has air conditioning because you literally would only need it for 2 weeks every year. However, we rent a house with a basement and it was ~ 10-15 degrees cooler there than in the main part of the house. So I inflated our mattress and slept on it; MH slept on the La-Z-Boy and both of us are feeling so rested!

rant — MH gets so cranky when it’s hot and he doesn’t sleep well. And also we generally transfer money into our shared account at the start of the month to cover all shared expenses. Well yesterday (after I told him the day before!) he accidentally took money OUT of the account. 😫😫😫 It was only by chance that I looked at the account yesterday noticed it. Our rent check had already been cashed and I had to send a note to our landlord notifying him that we might have a problem. Luckily today it looks like we’ve gotten away with just an NSF fee which I’ll try to call and get reversed. I’m kinda pissed at MH even though I know it’s an honest mistake but he waited a full day after I reminded him to do the transfer and then did it while also trying to multitask at work. Grrrr. Anyway, I’ve now told him to set up an automatic transfer each month and if more is needed I’ll tell him the amount. I already do all of the money stuff for us; the least he can do is just follow some basic instructions. Sorry for the long rant but I had to get it off my chest.

CS/Q: my RHR popped up yesterday so I thought maybe I’m starting to surge and stepped up my OPK testing to 3x daily. But now I’m thinking it was because of the heat as it’s slightly down today.

  • @fitzfizz the work thing seems super annoying. I know you have been crazy lately, I hope it calms down soon. I know I’m crazy with work too but your seems worse because you do so much more interacting with people.

@bumblebee0210 I’ll have to check out that workout, thanks! And that’s great for your friend and I’m glad you aren’t having a hard time with it.

@a@AKuzReve you go here! A lot of people will wait until ovulation is confirmed with a few high temps to move over to the TWW (although it’s totally fine if you’re sure and move over early too). But I’d say you are definitely still waiting to ovulate now.

@ac@acleverusername I can’t sleep in the heat either so I’m glad you guys found a good solution!

  • @acleverusername thanks for that link - it was helpful. I thought O was confirmed which is why it’s annoying but hopefully this is it now. Hard to know. I’m hoping it’s clear cut with temps and strong OPKs but who knows.

We also don’t have a/c but those heatwaves are so hard to handle. I get your rant. It’s not the thing he did, it’s the mental load. Carrying it all can be overwhelming some days.

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @AKuzReve I see what you’re saying now. It’s hard to tell from your chart because I’m so used to looking at Fertility Friend. But if your OPKs are getting darker again you probably didn’t ovulate yet.
  • @bows22 that sounds like a great weekend. Enjoy!
@fitzfizz what an awful employer! That sounds like as difficult situation.
@bumblebee0210 so glad you are excited for your friend!
@acleverusername what your dh did would make me crazy. Hopefully it won't happen again. And yay for darkening opks.

R/R: so many rants so sorry. I was going to use opks this cycle, but in the day they were supposed to arrive, I went sent a message saying they will be sent soon and delivered on the 18th....grrr. (so @fitzfizz I'm not testing this cycle.) Plus I broke a Halloween decoration we just bought, so now I'm trying to fix that when I have plenty of other things to be doing. My wife always has a mile long list and for some reason she can just sit and not worry about her list, but I feel like I never stop except to get on the bump (which I then feel guilty for).

CS/Q: wacky temps as I had multiple wake ups last night

@fitzfizz I'm sorry your employer isn't properly making you safe at work. Sending love!
@AKuzReve Post recipes in the cooking/baking/crafting thread if you get the chance! I love picking up new vegan recipes for when I need to switch my diet.
@acleverusername I'm glad you slept well even without open windows! I'm sorry there are struggles with the shared account but I hope that can get worked out without too much issue!
@Kenneylynn3 I'm sorry you're having so many struggles today. Hopefully things get sorted out and back on track soon!

R/R: Had several positive OPKs yesterday, but no temp rise today so I'm either waiting on a temp rise in the next couple of days OR I'm going to keep using OPKs and see if I get a second surge. I also took a slightly extended break from homework this week (with permission from my professor) so I'm getting homework done today and turning it in tonight. I'm really glad I've been able to focus in on self-care.

@bows22 I’m glad you’re feeling good about work stuff, your pumpkin patch idea sounds lovely!

@fitzfizz I’m sorry that work is stressful! That’s very annoying that you have to put up with that.

@bumblebee0210 you’re such a good friend! I’m glad that you’re excited and are able to offer some help.

@AKuzReve sorry for the cycle confusion! I hate when things don’t work like they’re supposed to.

@acleverusername MH also can’t sleep when it’s hot and gets suuuuuper cranky and dramatic about it. I’m glad that you guys were able to find some relief in the basement

@Kenneylynn3 I’m sorry you’re having a rough day 😔 sometimes it’s okay to give yourself a little bit of time to decompress...don’t feel bad for doing so!

@ashaislurking I’m glad you’re feeling good. Self care time is the best!

    Month/Cycle: 11/10

R/R: I really have nothing to add about myself other than I have been SO busy this week!! Work was crazy (I have a student with me for the fall semester so I’m always doing something), and I wasn’t feeling the best because of Clomid side effects. I took my last dose Wednesday night, so today was a little bit better. Yesterday I had a headache for probably 12 hours straight ugh. But hopefully everything is working as it should be. I have an u/s on Monday morning to see how everything is doing. Other than that, I’m trying to convince DH to do a fun fall day with me this weekend but he keeps thinking of not-fun things we have to do (lol). Hope everyone had the best Friday!!

    CS/Q:

  • @AKuzReve hopefully you'll get your dark OPK asap.
@bows22 I joked to MH that we're camping in our basement, an ok-enough substitute since we couldn't go camping in Tahoe this weekend.
@Kenneylynn3 Wow - where did you order your OPKs from? That's quite the delay in shipping! What kind of OPKs are you using/buying?
@ashaislurking I'm so glad that you invested in self-care this week. Hopefully that gets you through the mid-terms and to the end of the term. The more self-care the better in present times. Hopefully you get your 2nd surge today/tomorrow. Do you usually get 2 surges? As for shared account, it's never happened before; I'm just extra annoyed b/c MH is terrible at paperwork and I generally let him be terrible at it if it doesn't concern me (one of the reasons we have mostly separate finances). But anything that concerns me I have to take care of, or else it won't get done and my ask to him is pretty minimal.

October 2020 TTGP Signature Challenge: Pets in Costumes

  • Wow! This was an active board today. How active is everyone at night? I feel bad cause that is when most my free time is during a working day.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 2

    WAYDTGKU: PNV, HIO and OPK

R/R: for this being a short work week it was a very long couple of days. Working tomorrow but hoping to get pumpkins Sunday. Also, got a consult with my OB on 14th so excited about that. DH was like “i thought your last exam was all good and you are fertile” and he was referencing my last annual exam 🤦🏼‍♀️

    CS/Q:

  • @acleverusername I sent you a PM, just wanted to mention so that you see it
  • @acleverusername I ordered them from Amazon. I don't have prime, but it said they'd be delivered on the 30th and then told me on the 30th, after I had no package at 9pm, that will be delivered by the 18th. I debated canceling, but the are the easy@home ones that come with pregnancy tests. So I figure I will wait for them so I can use the hpts for this cycle and the opks for next cycle.

  • @bumblebee0210 I'm so glad that you are able to be excited for them.

@AkuzReve Yeah, I would definitely keep HIO and doing OPKs.

@acleverusername A revolt is imminent. 2 other doctors and I are already planning a proposal to the big boss, so it will be a pathetic revolt.

@bows22 I am at the point where I start every call to a patient with "I know it's 8 PM on a Friday and you are out drinking with your friends (like a normal person) but is this a good time to talk about your ultrasound?"

@KenneyLynn3 Never feel guilty for your personal time such as being

@ashaislurking I'm still in awe of your smooth chart, and I think it will be very obvious when you have a temp rise, so you are in good shape.

@runningoncookies My vote is definitely for fall fun day!

@And846 Gotta love a world when we get excited to go to the OB!
