  • I love to do embroidery work but have taken a small break from it because I don’t love the project I’m working on. This thread may be the push I need to get back into it. I really want to create a pattern that says Tender and Brave. I’m not sure what the rest of the piece will look like but I want those words on it.

  • @ashaislurking I love your prompts. I needed some October inspiration and am totally going to steal some of these. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
  • This is the exact thread I needed! I have an Etsy shop that is passive income for me, and I have been meaning to do some work on it and add more listings. This is going to motivate me to do that!
  • I made two batches of molasses cookies last night. Between us and the neighbors, I'd say half are gone already 🤷

  • @fitzfizz I love all the cards you made. They look so good and are soo cute. Good job.
  • I made “buttermilk” biscuits to cheer us up. 100% dairy free.

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • Just made some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. They’re pretty good for a healthier recipe!

  • @runningoncookies I hate anything pumpkin but I have to say that your muffins looks sooo yummy 😆
  • Pumpkin bread with chocolate chips

    And apple crisp!

  • @gingermama29 we were on the same page today with the chocolate and pumpkin!

@mindyb2019 its 100% the chocolate chips added to the top that makes them look EXTRA good!
  • @runningoncookies Now I want to make the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies that I've been thinking about for a couple of weeks! I'm not great with improvising while baking, but thinking about putting in some whole wheat and/or oat flour to help make them a little healthier
  • Popped back into this thread and I'm hungry. The food all looks delicious!
Craftober day 2-6 in the spoiler! Some days I keep it a lot more simple than others. I've had a blast doing these so far!

    Day 2: Candle

    Day 3: Wind

Day 4: Body (please ignore the face- it's the size of a quarter and I need to touch it up with art markers)

    Day 5: Water

    Day 6: Moon

  • @ashaislurking This is such a fun idea! Are you doing all of these on canvas?
  • I finally made molasses cookies yesterday!

Last night I discovered diamond painting, which I think is kind of a stupid name, but is very similar to mosaics I used to make with seed beads years ago. After going down a rabbit hole I ordered a kit last night and am super excited to try it out, if I like it I may try designing my own "painting". Something I struggled with before was finding beads that were the right color (particularly when I tried to switch from B&W to colored images), so I'm excited at the idea that the drills come in a lot of different, standardized colors. I also found some paint-by-number and watercolor kits that I want to try, but thought I'd slow my roll a bit and do one at a time...
  • @fitzfizz Yes! All of these are acrylic on canvas!

  • @ashaislurking I have been using your craftober prompts to work on this doodle. I have been adding to it each night and I think it is looking decently cool at this point.

  • @fitzfizz That's amazing!! I love it!

  • Some random things that made me happy this week.

Fall soup I made that was both delicious and reasonably healthy:

Beer bread I baked this weekend. Not at all healthy, but very delicious. For @acleverusername, it is an onion flavored bread and I thought of you when I made it.
Card I made for my brother. If anyone plays “Among Us” you may get the joke.
  • @fitzfizz That beer bread looks great! The recipes I have are more of a quickbread (they come out crumbly), I hadn't seen one like that before. Would you be willing to share the recipe?
  • Thanks for thinking of me @fitzfizz

  • @akoros Yeah, this is the first regular bread I have made with beer and it came out well. Most bread I make I use a recipe from the book below. I use a bread maker on dough setting, then shape it and bake in the oven. The bread this week I did in the Dutch oven for what that is worth. I put the recipe and the book below. If anyone wants good bread recipes and has this book, I have a lot of favorites.

Thanks, @fitzfizz! Looks delicious, now I need to find myself some rye flour. I usually use my Dutch oven to get a nice crust, but the recipe I used the last couple of times just came out flat. Tasted fine, just way too dense, so I need to practice some more and troubleshoot. I can't tell if the recipe is bad, there's not enough gluten development, I'm overproofing, or I just have bad technique. It rises well, but then collapses when I get it into the proofing basket (recipe says to not punch down or deflate, but for the life of me I can't get it out of the bowl without it deflating). For my bridal shower my MOH gave me "Flour Water Salt Yeast." I've read it and made the Saturday bread once, but I think I need to really sit down and work my way through it.
