R/R: Back to having the house to myself today! I don’t think DH liked working from home very much so hopefully that’s out of his system haha. We watched the debate last night which I was excited about and I don’t want to get political but I thought both of them looked pretty bad and now I’m sad for our country. Now I’m exhausted from being up too late. I did have a productive day in the office but everything just takes so much longer than I think it will so I’m feeling a little behind now. Hopefully I can make more progress today!

R/R: Rave: The weather was so unbelievably nice here yesterday, I went for a short run and it was lovely. Rant: My short run was my only break between working at work and working late from home. 7 AM to 9 PM is too much. I also still have so many unfinished results to call people about. Sorry to anyone still waiting on results from your doctor! We try!
CS/Q: nothing today
Also, I fell asleep last night while composing responses yesterday, so to avoid bumping, I’m pre-tagging today!
@akoros The one semi-healthy thing I have made on a fall theme that came out well as an oat topped apple crisp with fall spices. That was actually decent!
@krash_ I never thought in life that I would reach a point of being excited that a stranger on the internet was ovulating from her left ovary, but here we are. Yay!!
@Kenneylynn3 I usually ovulate day 16-18, so I have been starting OPKs on day 11, once per day until they get a darker, then go to 3 per day as my spikes have been short. I bought a bunch of cheap wondfos so I’m not super worried about wasting them FWIW.
@bumblebee0210 One good thing about still working in person is I can pawn baked goods off on my coworkers!
@ashaislurking I’m still jealous of your beautiful chart, and now also your relaxing week. I hope you have joy it!
@AKuzReve Girl, same. I have also been working crazy late this week. This needs to stop.
@runningoncookies I am glad you are almost done with Clomid! FX this will be the only time you need it!
@fitzfizz glad you got to enjoy the beautiful weather!

R/R: super excited!! Some of you might remember that I applied for a grant back in March to start a ukulele program in my district. I found out last night that it was approved!! My students are going to be so excited!! I can't wait to tell them!
CS/Q: if it's possible, my OPKs are getting more negative. Ughhhh
@fitzfizz. That is way too much work time, and it does make me feel better about getting test results. Thanks on behalf of all the patients...
@bows22 It's nice to have the house to yourself. Two people working from home for long periods can be a bit... claustrophobic. And I totally hear you on things taking longer than you think. I have toyed around with tracking my time to get a better sense of these things but it always seems like more trouble than it's worth. I try to just lower my expectations which sometimes helps!

WAYDTGKU: opks, temps
R/R: Rant-- the weather is being really weird here-- it's sort of hot and rainy. I want fall back! I just ordered some new sweaters. Rave/Rant/Ambivalent?-- saw my doctor yesterday, long story and *tw* (loss, pg, lc) so it's in the spoiler.
I feel reassured that we can actually do some testing, but it's scary to think that DOR/poor egg quality could be the culprit, because it means lots of interventions and maybe not getting the family size we want. But I'm glad that my doctor heard my concerns and agreed to do the testing, because if that's an issue I want to know ASAP. I know a lot of women in this forum have dealt with this road (and come out the other side!), but right now I'm just anxious about all of it.
CS/Q: not yet--- still sort of benched until hcg is down to zero.

@bows22 @gingermama29 Ugh...that's all I can say about that. I'm normally fairly engaged in these sorts of things (after all, I live in DC and work in policy), but it's so hard this time around. I'm tired of seeing quotes or headlines and being truly unable to tell whether they're true or parody.

@fitzfizz those work hours are insane and it’s also good to have the doctor’s perspective on why results take so long. But good for you for getting out for a run!
@gingermama29 wow! Congrats on getting that grant! I hope your students are excited as you are. And I really really hope that an OPK turns positive for you soon. FX.
@bumblebee0210 it sounds like you have a great doctor! I wish every doctor visit went like that. is IF testing covered for you? Only thing is to be aware of is... there’s no test (that I know of) to know the quality of your eggs; just the quantity.

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + OPKs + TI, a bunch of vitamins/supplements for both MH and I. Also this cycle: urology consult for MH; additional blood testing (for other autoimmune diseases) for me.
R/R: For the past 2 days work has been non-stop meetings; I’ve had no more than a couple of 30 min breaks in between which is not enough to get anything done! Grrrr. Today I’ve blocked off my calendar so with the exception of 3 meetings, I’m hoping to get some items on my todo list crossed off.
MH has his urology consult today. It’s virtual so I don’t actually know what we’ll find out but hopefully something! We’ve paused IUIs until we figure out if something can be done to boost his total motal count (TMC) which differed significantly and not in the good way between his SA and our IUI last cycle.
CS/Q: I’ve actually making an effort to post today. Go me!

@bumblebee0210 I'm glad you have a doctor who is listening to your concerns and trying to work with you as best as they can to help with family planning, even if it's not exactly where you wanted to be right now.

R/R: I'm starting craftober tomorrow which is exciting but I'm also kind of dreading it because it's forced self-care. I'm going to be painting most of the days if not every day. This also means I'll probably be doing weekly drop posts in our crafting thread (can we make a collective effort to revive that thread? I miss it). This relaxation week has been -really- good for my mental health. Kind of dreading going back to crazy next week BUT I'm soaking up this week as much as I possibly can. I did a big group video chat and joked around with a bunch of friends last night and will probably do the same tonight. I'm really lucky to have this rare week of down time.

@Bumblebee0210 I am trying to do the same with the expectations but I have a deadline looming so lowering expectations is more about maybe not double checking things that I normally would, and I hate thinking about quality possibly suffering. Also regarding your spoiler, the fact of not getting to choose what your family looks like is a very hard thing for me to accept. Your feelings are totally valid. You’ve been down a tough road so far but I hope it really was just terrible luck and next time is flawless.
@kpea@kpearse99 that is the perfect picture 😂
@akoros the weather here right now is perfect! Sunny and cool!
@aceleverusername fortunately the water is back on so no port a potty! Good luck with the consult and with getting things done today!
@asha@ashaislurking I’m glad you are enjoying your week of down time! Zoom calls seem so lame but I am always so happy after I do one with friends, I should set up one soon!
@ashaislurking your week of R&R sounds heavenly! Hopefully you can revive the Craft thread with your Craftober. It sounds like there are a few crafty people on this board right now (myself definitely not included!)
@bows22 I did the Whole30 in July/Aug and then @priyadoc had started doing hers in September.

@gingermama29 Ukulele sounds so much more fun that the music classes I had in school. I’m sure the kids will love it!

@Kenneylynn3 Did you end up getting some more OPKs to test more frequently?
@kpearse99 So excited to see you here!! I know you have been busy, but always nice to see you
@akoros I have found that I can substitute Splenda for sugar in recipes with fruit, so it was OK if you eat artificial sweeteners. I never like any substitute for fat in a recipe, but the artificial sweeteners are OK for me.
@acleverusername I’m scratching my head how a Urologist visit can be virtual. Has he previously had a normal exam by a Urologist before or something?
@ashaislurking Tell me more about craftober! I tried googling this but I’m finding just random different things. Is this a specific challenge that you are doing? (I love crafts!) I realized last week that we have no crafting thread for September, and I didn’t want to start one now, but I’m definitely planning this for October.
@bows22 I have tried many diets over time, but weight watchers was the only thing I could ever stick with, and even then only when properly motivated. And don’t let me fool you into thinking I call about every result! I usually get 40-60 results back per day and most of the normal ones I just send a quick message to the portal with an explanation. I call if is is something new or abnormal, or if I know the person was worried about the result.
