Re: WTO Tuesday 9.29

  • Month/Cycle: 22/25

    CD: 4

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Tracking CM

R/R: DH’s work has to have the water off all day today....they brought in a line of port a Johns and he was like, nope, working from home. I think it’s so funny that he hasn’t worked from home one day during the pandemic but a port a potty is where he draws the line 😂. He has an IBD so I don’t really blame him. I’m used to having the place to myself though so I’m going to go into the office. I’m starting to get close to the end on some audits and hoping I can get some wrapped up today!

    CS/Q:

  • Loading the player...
  • @bows22 definitely can't blame YH for working from home today. Good luck with the audits! Hope you can get them wrapped up.

    Month/Cycle: 16/10

    CD: 26

WAYDTGKU: temping, prenatals, OPKs, and HIO of course

R/R: the weather is turning cooler starting today. I'm starting to get into fall baking mode. I've been itching to make pumpkin bread and I'm craving apple crisp. I suspect I might have to do some baking this weekend. I love this time of year.

    CS/Q:

  • @bows22 Definitely don’t blame him. I hate porta-potties so much I will do a lot to avoid them. I have 100% paid real money to avoid them and I will do it again. Gross.

@gingermama29 Your baking plans sound delicious! Fall is the best and baking is definitely a big part of it. I’m trying to find healthier recipes for fall baking this year and so far I have been disappointed.

    Month/Cycle: 9/3 AL

    CD: 2

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs, planning SMEP(ish)

R/R: Finally hit my first goal for weight loss today! TW PG below**

I had gained ~20 lbs during pregnancy earlier this year, and today I finally got to my pre-pregnancy weight. I’m still ~12 lbs overweight for my height, so I’m going to keep working at it to be in better shape for the next one, but today I am happy!

    CS/Q: Nothing to see here

  • @gingermama29 I love this time of year too! It’s even a little rainy today and I don’t mind it because it feels fall-ish. I want to do some baking too but I’m struggling to find the time. DH has been stressed about the number of apples we have e and shocked me this weekend and pulled off a Dutch apple pie! So that is satisfying my cravings for now haha

@fitzfizz awesome job on the weight loss! Are you still doing whole 30? I am so interested in that but I don’t think I could ever do it
  • Month/Cycle: 27/2 AL

    CD: 8

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, vitamins

R/R: Getting cooler, but still too warm! It'll be better after today, though. I also shouldn't complain, my friend in San Mateo is still dealing with a heat wave without air conditioning (!).

    CS/Q: none

@gingermama29 I also want to do some baking this weekend, maybe some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Won't help my weight loss goals at all, though, which is the main hesitation. Like @fitzfizz said, there's no way to really make it healthy and worthwhile

    @fitzfizz Congrats! 20lbs is a great loss!

  • @bows22 I don't blame YH but I would prefer less time WFH with MH. He's a terrible coworker!
@gingermama29 I made an apple crisp last weekend but no one else in my house seemed to want to eat it so I ended up having it for breakfast a couple days last week. Not a bad deal though.
@fitzfizz congrats on the weight loss! It's great when hard work pays off!
@akoros one thing I love about the Midwest is the cool fall days, I could do with fewer bitter cold winter days but the fall almost makes up for it.

Sorry I never came back for tags yesterday. I'll go back and read the thread and respond to anything here so I don't keep bumping yesterdays thread.

    Month/Cycle: 10/11

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: PNV and also PNV EOD, OPK's, BBT and CM

R/R: I think today might be O day. Got a peak OPK yesterday, felt ovulation pain on my left side which is promising because I don't usually feel it and my left side is my open side and EWCM this morning. HIO EOD is kind of a mind f*ck because with today being O I feel like we should HIO but it's our day off for EOD. I'm going to try to hold out until tomorrow because we will still have good timing with out getting 0. Thinking about my HSG more it seems dumb that they would even do one if when it comes back abnormal they just say "you can still get pregnant with just one tube!"

R/R: sorry I missed yesterday. Finally able to get outside yesterday, and looks like this week will be nice as long as the air quality stays good. We are going to finally get trees removed from our yard and our gutters replaced in the next few weeks.

CS/Q: just some wacky dots due to poor sleep. For those that use opk, how many days to you use them? Like what day do you start testing in your cycle? Say I ovulate around CD16, when should I start testing?

@bows22 I don't blame him either. Hope the audits go well.
@gingermama29 I just made banana bread the other day. It's already half gone! Next is molasses cookies. I was just thinking about how I need to figure out ingredients for my "cookie tin" that I send family for Christmas.
@fitzfizz congrats on the weight loss. I still have 5 to go, but I'm not necessarily watching what I eat either (like banana bread).
@akoros it is supposed to be in the 70's this week, but it's been in the 50's this weekend and I had to turn on my heat!

  • I hear you all on the fall baking (both desires and ambivalence!). In the pre-pandemic times I would have baked and then tried to pawn them off on other people but we don't have people over anymore! Also I am trying to commit to reduce refined carbs in my diet for weight loss/fertility, so baking seems... counterproductive.

@fitzfizz Congrats! that is impressive. MC weight gain is a cruel side effect, good for you for making healthy changes.

  • FU from yesterday:

@acleverusername yes I had my CD 3 blood work already and it was all normal. So if my numbers are normal and MH's SA is normal is there anything that would be done for having a blocked tube. Are we just expected to try for as long as it takes? Should I consult with an RE instead of my OB if she doesn't want to do anything?

This is sort of related but Idk if I should be posting in the IF thread. I don't want to barge in when I don't really have a diagnosis but all this testing is frustrating and I don't know what to advocate for next so I just lurk there to soak up all in valuable information.

@krash_ so these are my thoughts based on what I know. I think your RE just means that having one tube is not the thing that’s keeping you from getting KU. But if you continue to not get pregnant and have an IUI as an unexplained diagnosis, they would need to have that info to only do the IUI if you have follicles on the good side (this is what happened with my SIL) also if for some reason you would ever need surgery (like a polyp removal), they could repair the tube since you are under anesthesia anyway. Also, I would absolutely post on the IF thread. It is for testing and treatment and it’s just nice to have the support when you are going through it!

edit - I just read that you are doing this testing under an OB. Yes, I think once you have your testing done your next step will be to contact an RE, although they may not want to see you until the year mark unless you are 35+

@Kenneylynn3 I usually ovulate anywhere from CD14-18 and if I’m using wondfos I usually start testing on CD10. The clear blue digital advanced has a guide based on cycle length and that says CD7 for me to start.

  • @bows22 Hopefully you can get some good work wrapped up today! Sorry you couldn't get your house to yourself
@gingermama29 Pumpkin bread and apple crisp sound amazing right now!
@fitzfizz Congrats on hitting your first goal!
@akoros Glad it's cooling down. Hopefully the downtrend keeps up for you.
@krash_ Yay for O! If you HIO yesterday there should be plenty of sperm waiting! I definitely get your frustration with your HSG results. I think bows22 has some really good points about implications for future IUI cycles if it comes to that.
@Kenneylynn3 I'm glad you were able to get some time outside and that it looks like you'll be able to spend more time outside. Also super happy you got the trees removed!

@krash_ I posted in there even though I have had one single consult with my OB regarding infertility. Not a single member has outright judged me for it.
  • Will do other tags and update later. @krash_ you're almost at 12 months of trying, right? I would start looking for an RE to work with. Also, please do post in the IF channel. I started posting in mid-July when I had an appointment with an RE lined up, before my HSG. The advice from the IF warriors in those first couple of months is very helpful and will likely help you in understanding the next steps for you.

R/R: Super sorry about not being around more yesterday and commenting on others! Work is just hectic and I’ve been working till 9 PM. But it should ease up a bit after Wednesday so that’s nice! A bit more relaxing end of week and weekend for me. I can’t wait! I plan to get some mini Apple Pies made I think.

CS/Q: So if you look at my temps, it looks like I O’ed yesterday but my OPKs still show no real surge. It was a bit higher today but not crazy high. Super unusual as my surge is usually strong. I’m confused and don’t know what to think!

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @bows22 I totally wouldn’t want to go into work if I had to use a porta potty! Hopefully you got some good stuff done at the office!

@gingermama29 I’ve been all about the fall baking recently! I made a really yummy (not healthy) pumpkin bread last week, and I’m thinking  about making some (semi-healthy) pumpkin muffins this weekend!

    @fitzfizz congratulations! That’s such a great accomplishment!

@akoros I’m in the same boat, by the weekend it’s looking like it should feel more like fall. I was digging through my closet trying to find a good “fall” short sleeved shirt to wear to work the past couple of days. Can’t wait to break out the long sleeves haha!

@krash_ yay for O day! I would absolutely suggest posting in the IF thread (and looking for an RE). I was never given a “formal” diagnosis and no one has called me out on it. Everyone over there is SO supportive and amazing.

@Kenneylynn3 hopefully the air quality stays clear for all that outside work!

@ashaislurking I’m glad you’re enjoying your down time!

@AKuzReve I say keep testing! I’ve had it happen a couple of times where my temp wobbled/fluctuated around O, but I was still able to see a clear sustained shift after my positive OPKs. Also, mini apple pies sound like so much fun!

@bows22 yummm. I bet that was amazing!
