The nausea has eased, but I'm getting sick of sinus congestion/headaches. And fatigue, feel like I've been a zombie forever.

@skyeleesmommy721 I'm glad you're here too. Hey, my nausea turned to vomiting right at 10 weeks too. So I called my OB, and they put me on B6 and unisom. Haven't vomited since I started that, and the nausea is down. If you aren't already doing that, maybe call them and see if you can try.
  • 10 weeks today. I'm so so so tired, headaches, still battling the congestion. My nausea hasn't been as bad today. I think starting the B6 and unisom has helped; its definitely better than last week. I think it's helping me sleep too, which is nice because now I can usually fall back asleep within 30-45 minutes after getting up to pee.
  • 9 +2 today

I’m jealous of the ones whose nausea is subsiding. My symptoms haven’t changed yet, still nausea, exhaustion and irritability. B6 and Unisom don’t really do it for me, but I know that Zofran doesn’t help either so I am just white knuckling it until around 13 weeks and hoping for the best.

How are you feeling this week? Still exhausted. I feel like I can sleep forever but when I actually lay down to sleep, it’s terrible. Ugh. I want to stop taking the half unisom because I think it is making me feel tired during the day too, but exhaustion is better than nausea. My nausea seems to be a bit better. Praying I’m not jinxing this and that I’m turning a corner.

I am feeling like the last two days I was less nauseous during the day which is hopeful to me but still really sick at night 🤢🤢🤢 was hoping it would be gone by 12 weeks but still battling lol! I still strangely can only drink la croix (which I hated pre pregnancy) I’ve started getting a few headaches here and there but i think it could be from being so inactive 😬

not sure how common it is but I haven’t had any real overwhelming craving or aversions mostly I just didn’t think anything sounded appealing and now I think of food as just ehh. I was a super foodie before I got pregnant so this seems unusual for me.
  • 10+7 today. How am I feeling is a loaded question. Happy to be here and hoping everything keeps going as it should. I was hoping to have an easier time since my first ended in TW- a MC at 8w. However progesterone was a problem in the beginning and now I have a SCH and am on modified bed rest + pelvic rest... so mentally a little exhausted. I also had a nasty headache the other day so I’m grateful that’s not all the time (I do suffer from bad migraines- so I’m grateful) a little cramping at times but nothing major so just trying not to dwell on that. Boobs are still sore and I think week 9 on have been the worst for nausea. Thankfully I can make it through a full work day without needing a nap.... I am the same @grilledcheeezin - no real food aversions just indecisiveness on what I’m actually going to eat- which in return probably makes me more nauseous.
  • I’m 10 weeks and some change. I don’t feel like counting. I started taking Diclegis on Saturday and it’s helping me feel so much more human. The Unisom and B6 helped a smidge, but then seemed to stop working. The nausea came back with a vengeance towards the end of last week and I couldn’t deal anymore. So I’m now able to eat without it being this whole big thing. I haven’t been doing the forced snacking and feel like I’m actually able to eat somewhat balanced meals now. I still feel mildly queasy on occasion but nothing like it had been. Other than that, I’m constipated (I need to revisit last week’s thread!) and so tired and bloated. I’ve had a couple headaches too!
  • I’m 11 and a halfish weeks. The nausea was mostly gone but now it’s kind of just the gross feeling whenever I eat anything. I’m usually a decently balanced eater except I love dessert (it started during pregnancy with DS and never ended). Now, nothing sweet even sounds appealing. DH and DS made a lemon cake with fresh strawberries we picked over the weekend and it’s so good, but I just don’t want it. It was only a loaf size cake and I’m going to end up throwing half of it away. Other than that lots of headaches, and absolute exhaustion.

My nausea and food aversions are gone. My gut feels horrible, i'm constipated, but treating it, but feel like a giant gas filled whale. Also i can't stop eating.
  • I'm 9+5 weeks, and I'm a wreck right now. I've had a headache since last Wednesday - and when I say headache, I mean migraine, complete with fatigue, stabbing pain, throwing up, the works. Everyone keeps telling me to call the doctor but I can't imagine there's anything they can do for me. I've been sitting on the couch like a pile of garbage until I have to go to work, which is absolutely miserable but I can't keep calling out. It's just very depressing. I never felt this rotten during my last pregnancy. And it's so early and I feel like I have so long to go.
  • @grilledcheeezin I loved them before but I am ALLLL into the La Croix. I just tried the limoncello flavor this week and I am in love.

@riff323 I’m sorry you feel so crappy. Just try to take it one day at a time and know that it won’t be forever. I know I had expectations with my first that it would end after the 1st trimester and when it didn’t I felt even worse. But, it did eventually end and I felt much better. Hang in there I know how much it sucks.
  • How far along are you? 13+2

How are you feeling this week? I've started having pretty bad headaches, they usually start in the morning, subside during the day and come back at night. I've been making a point of staying hydrated, so I'm not really sure why I'm getting them. This morning I got out of bed to pee and was stopped in my tracks with sharp pains in my lower abdomen. I was a little concerned at first, but no bleeding at all, and when I googled it seemed to be the epitome of round ligament pain, just from moving/changing positions too quickly. I'm still experiencing it a bit, but I have an ultrasound tomorrow so I will have extra peace of mind to know everything is okay. I finally gained my first pound this week!! I'm going to attribute that to actually having somewhat of an appetite back! I mean, I'm not excited to gain weight, but for a while I was just worried my scale was broken lolol.
  • @BuckeyeNut05 thank you for the kind words!

@theblondebump my headaches get worse at night too, and vary with sleeping position. Such a pain in the butt!
  • @theblondebump we are only one day apart on due dates and I also finally gained my first pound! Seems like the first time I’ve ever cheered over that😂
  • @riff323 I’m so sorry to hear this! As someone who normally deals with multiple migraines a month I feel your pain. With DS1 I had one that literally lasted for five weeks. The only time I wasn’t in complete and utter pain was when I was somehow magically asleep. Have you ever seen a chiropractor? When I’m not pregnant that is something that usually helps me significantly and most chiropractors can get you in fairly quickly and it’s safe while pregnant, just let them know. Unfortunately some of my other migraine remedies aren’t pregnancy safe, but two vitamins are: magnesium and B2, just maybe call your OB’s office and double check on which dose they recommend for you. Or even just something with electrolytes can make a difference as well as weirdly a banana, increasing potassium can ease the pain. Also there is a pressure point on your hand between your thumb and index finger that you can massage. And try ice packs to your neck for about twenty minutes, take a hot shower and then ice packs again can help reduce any inflammation. Sorry if I overwhelmed you, it’s just something I deal with frequently but hate taking too many prescriptions all the time!
@BuckeyeNut05 I’m taking both zofran and unisom/B6 and it lets me only throw up like 1-2 times a day.
@pelorunningmama I was talking to my sister about the same thing, I feel like I have to decide to be sleepy all the time or nauseous right now and it’s easier to be tired I guess.
@theblondebump I hope the ultrasound tomorrow gives you more peace of mind. Round ligament pain stinks though!
@skyeleesmommy721 we’re glad you’re here too! I love love love my kids, and also lost a baby. But I absolutely do not like being pregnant and never really have. But I just keep reminding myself that this has an ending and I can’t stay pregnant forever!

For me: I’m 11+1, and I’m struggling with losing weight. I’m down 12 pounds now even though it feels like some of the morning sickness has eased up and I’m eating a little bit more. But I had to see an endocrinologist last week because some of the bloodwork with my thyroid came back abnormal. They ran more bloodwork on Friday but it’s also out of the normal range and they think I have an autoimmune disorder that was triggered by pregnancy....so that’s fun. I’m now just waiting for the endocrinologist to decide if I need to go on medication or not.
  • @theblondebump definitely sounds like RLP! It can definitely stop you in your tracks. I was laying in bed last night and sneezed a couple times and felt it pretty strongly. Definitely not a fun surprise when that happens! I try to change positions and stand up slowly!
  • Thank you @theletlers! I have seen a chiro before, but haven't recently. I have tried all the other things you suggested. I too have dealt with migraines for years, ever since I was 12 (I'm 35 now). I finally caved and took Excedrin yesterday and I felt human again. I know you're not supposed to have aspirin when you're pregnant, but my OB let me take Excedrin last time I was pregnant so I'm hoping everything will be okay.
  • @riff323 when people ask which is worse a migraine or labor I can honestly say a migraine. And I have had two natural births with pitocin. And while labor sucks and is hard there is a good purpose and something really beautiful at the end. But I have nothing nice to say about a migraine. I’m glad you got some relief yesterday though and that those nasty migraines stay away.
  • After a couple days of feeling pretty decent with the diclegis, I ended up feeling awful yesterday. I ate a pretty carb-heavy breakfast and felt bad immediately and didn’t really improve until after dinner. I hope this isn’t a precursor to GD. I’m not sure that it works that way, but it scared me enough that I’m going to try to take it easy on the carbs today 😬
  • @grilledcheeezin I could have written this during any of my pregnancies. It's definitely false that after first tri you get better right away. I saw something like most women will feel better by 16 weeks. I felt better at 14 weeks in both previous pregnancies so I'm hoping this is the same.

@bblair24 as much as I just want carbs, if I eat ONLY carbs, I feel the same and have with my prior pregnancies (although it's worse this time) and I've never had GD and my A1C was in the low end of normal so I just think that's how our bodies operate. Usually I have a yogurt drink but didn't this morning - I do it to get some protein in. DH made toast and instead of cinnamon toast I've been having I told him it had to be PB. I'm off of my 8:30-9:30 call (on the west coast) so off to have yogurt with some homemade granola (I promise I'm not that crunchy but it's so good!)

@forevertired OMG I'll eat that cake. It sounds delicious and right up my pregnancy alley.

@theblondebump I agree it sounds like RLP. It is frequently a quick stabbing/sharp pain when you sneeze or move quickly (you can look up a diagram of where exactly it is). I also have had radiating pain for hours from it. Like, I legit had either a kidney stone or horrible RLP (they could see a very tiny kidney stone but weren't sure if it was actually the cause of my pain) at 39+4 with my first. I went to L&D b/c at that point, you don't go to the ER. I was literally writhing on the bed crying it was so bad and they eventually gave me a Percocet which took the edge off long enough for the pain to subside.. Fun fact - it gets worse with each pregnancy! I had an earlier spell that was more mild at around 6 months that I was okay with a very small heating pad used low (you have to be VERY careful with heating pads) and tylenol. Luckily it was never that bad last pregnancy so hoping for the same. Another fun fact. Your kidneys move all over the place in 3rd tri so when they did the ultrasound for the kidney stones my right kidney was vertical but really far over and my left kidney was horizontal right along where the RLP pain would be (and the side I was having pain on).

@theletlers ugh I've lost 9-10lbs and I'm 11 weeks I only lost 5lbs in the first tri with my previous 2 pregnancies. I lost more at the beginning this time and have kind of figured out what I can stomach so am not losing as quickly as I was. I had gotten down to prepregnancy weight after my first but not this time so if I don't lose any more, I'll essentially have hit the same low number for my weight for all 3 pregnancies so maybe that's just what my body wants?

Aside from feeling like I want to throw up (but only actually doing so once at 8 weeks, thankfully - I'd do almost anything to not throw up), I still can't look at chicken most of the time and generally feel like crap and so tired. I was holding off on eating b/c I was making something in the oven I wanted to eat and got super light headed so had to sit down on a chair in the middle of the kitchen while I finished.

  • @theletlers YES, that is a perfect description! At least with labor there's a good reason. Migraines are completely pointless and absolutely miserable. The only other pain I've had that was comparable (labor aside, which was drug-free like yours) was the world's worst hemorrhoid last spring. I couldn't even wear jeans for a week! And again: a very pointless, miserable pain.
  • @riff323 @theletlers oh man, I can't imagine. I've been having headaches all the time, but not migraines (thank god).

Does anyone else notice a lack of focus and forgetting things? This is my first, so I'm not sure if this is normal or if I am just attributing things to pregnancy that are unrelated. Normally I love to read, but I just don't have the focus to read a book these days!
  • @kvh22 I think you’re right! I had scrambled eggs and toast (still cinnamon toast though 😂) this morning and haven’t felt anywhere near as bad as yesterday. I avoid most carbs when I’m not pregnant because it upsets my stomach, so I guess I should keep on with that!

@bbrahmbhatt, I’m 100% with you on the focus and forgetfulness. Like I even forget words sometimes - it’s bad, haha! Pregnancy brain is totally normal. I like to think that the baby is taking my brain juice but I’m not sure how scientific that is 🙃
  • @theletlers HDBD threads are always fun! And I agree 100%. Other people’s pregnancies fly by for me. I personally enjoy very little about being pregnant 😂
  • @theletlers ahh hopefully you do even better this time and feel better sooner! I'm bad at HDBD until we move to FB. I hate uploading to TB app. I also normally work from home so it was rare to be wearing a cute outfit for a picture, even in non-covid times.

  • @bbrahmbhatt YES on the mom brain. And it never goes away. I took a year off work when DS was born and when I went back I was a complete and total space cadet. I couldn't remember things from 10min prior. Now I have to write literally everything down. Even when I'm on the phone, I have to take notes on the conversation..

  • @bbrahmbhatt of I meant to respond to this. Mom brain is scientifically a thing. Grey matter is reduced to make you more emotionally intelligent and connect with your baby. Lasts about 2 years postpartum (i.e. back to normal amount of grey matter 2 years after baby is born).

    Babysizer Cravings Pregnancy Baby Tracker

  • @kvh22 yes it is!!!!!! And oh my goodness is it bad for me. And I swear after each kid it’s gotten worse and taken longer to go away.
@bbrahmbhatt This time I started feeling it almost immediately. It’s like my mind just goes blank and I have to make a super concerted effort to regain my thoughts (and that’s IF I can even get myself to remember whatever it is I had forgotten). @mamabee1113 I have to write EVERYTHING down too!!!
@theletlers I’m excited about HDBD too! I usually enjoy being pregnant but I really enjoy once it’s visibly obvious haha
  • YES, I can't wait for HDBD!
  • @kvh22 I knew that the mom brain thing was a scientific thing but did not know about the returning to normal after two years. Yikes... I havent had a two year period of not being pregnant since 2015. My poor brain 😆
  • I'm so jealous of you ladies in the second trimester! I still have a couple more weeks...
