I'm not sure this is a "confession" but... MH has pretty much taken over all the household duties because I have become a temperamental baby sloth. Hes really a saint.
Lol household duties aside from cooking and dishes (which I consider necessities) are just not getting done around here. I think we're both going off of the assumption that we might as well just pack everything up for the move instead of organizing the toys, books, and clothes. DH does not fold laundry (but he runs the washer dryer and thinks he's "done laundry") so it's all just clean in the hamper that we dig through b/c I don't have the energy to fold.
Same here @bbrahmbhatt! I tried to load the dishwasher the other week but dirty dishes had been sitting in there for a while and it smelled too bad. He was like “don’t worry, I’ll do it.” I haven’t even tried since then.
@kvh22 DH “does laundry” the same way 😂 Washer, dryer, then it sits in the basket until he needs the basket again so he folds/balls it up and shoves it in a drawer. I won’t complain though, because I’m totally not going to fold it all either!
I’ve been super annoyed at the bump app because it hasn’t been showing me the posts I’ve seen vs. new, so I haven’t been able to catch up much haha all week. Plus I wasn’t able to like anything and it just seemed all glitchy, but there were no updates so I didn’t know how to fix it. I needed to sign in. I wrongly assumed that because my info showed up at the home page that it had me logged in, but apparently not.
@kvh22 same! There are currently five baskets of laundry sitting around needing to be put away but I have no energy to do that. Really what I want is a whole day where my kids are just gone and I can try and get things caught up and be able to take breaks as needed. But with them home it’s just that my breaks from chores become their mommy time and I’m struggling for real with low energy.
My FFFC... we have a cleaning lady come every other week to do all the real cleaning. When she didn't come during the Covid shutdown, our house was a complete dog hairy mess. I'm always really embarrassed to admit it, but also not having to do all the deep cleaning is such a time saver!
I hired someone just to come and fold our laundry and put it away. She starts Tuesday and I’m so excited. She is also going to organize all three of the kid’s drawers and closets. I’m so damn exhausted that I don’t even care about the extra money we are spending on this plus the stress of knowing I don’t have a pile waiting for me is amazing.
@cagncoo12 girl we used to have cleaning people come once a month and it was the BEST! Unfortunately it was one of the first things to go when I started staying home full time - I miss it SO much!!! We’re working on getting it back into our budget ASAP.
@pelorunningmama I LOVE that. I have a friend that has 5 kids and she paid a teenager to come every week to fold their laundry. She said there just wasn’t enough time in the day with so many kids (she homeschooled all of them!) and she just wasn’t going to make laundry happen. She said the same thing you did - it’s worth spending the money just to get it done!
