Questions or Concerns? Just getting a bit impatient. I haven't had any proof of life since my 8w scan (I'm 11w1d now), and I'm finally getting to see the MFM this week, so hoping for 2 heartbeats! It's a little scary waiting, I think because everything I read about twins emphasizes the increased risk.

Question-- are you guys showing? I am HUGE. I easily look 20 weeks pregnant, and I haven't gained a single pound! Honestly it's the only thing reassuring me that things are going ok in there...

Questions or Concerns? Ready to see my babies at my next MFM appointment Sept. 17th and find out the gender! Thankful, that I will get to see MFM every two weeks after this appointment because the waiting to see them and know if everything is okay is really killing me.

Oh yes, am I showing! I look 7 months pregnant by the end of the night! It's bad! I haven't gained anything either...

@travandas That makes me feel better-- did your MFM make a big deal out of the weight gain thing? I was surprised it was such a focus of the book I read, but it did seem like the author's main research focus, so maybe that explains it.

Surprisingly no! Not one word about my weight (I’m overweight) or the weight I should gain during this pregnancy. Now, my OBGYN said I need to eat, eat, eat...to eat something small like every hour and have a meal before bedtime 🤢. Honestly, I’m eating what I can when I can. I’m still very nauseous and nothing tastes good at all! I even switched to gummy prenatals and they taste gross. I feel like I’m still in survival mode.

Oh interesting. I am also overweight at baseline (in the amorphous like, I am 10-15 lbs overweight, not obese, no health issues category), and my sense from people with OBs and singletons was that they are obsessed with people not gaining too much, but don't really care if you gain very little (as long as the baby is growing). My family med doc was pretty chill about weight gain with my first and I ended up gaining like 38 lbs. I was hoping to gain fewer with this pregnancy but that is likely not in the cards...I'm meeting with my MFM tomorrow so I'm curious what she says. I do feel like I have enough fat stores to not need to gain 10 lbs of fat in the first tri but who knows.

I'm sorry you're still so nauseous! With both pregnancies (and my miscarriage), I have had it bad starting really early but it lets up around 10-11 weeks. I found diclegis helped a lot this time around. Hopefully you'll get into that good second tri feeling soon...

Questions or Concerns? I had an appointment last week with the MFM. I will be going back on the 30th and we are hoping to find out the genders. I completely agree about the waiting to see, I think it is even harder this time as DH cant come to my appointments so everything he is seeing is me recording the ultrasounds.

Question-- are you guys showing? Yes! I also look 20 weeks! I am think we will have to start telling people soon!

Questions or Concerns? Anyone else feel like they can truly see their babies different personalities on ultrasound? At my NT scan, baby A was chilling with her legs crossed and her head up at her forehead, and baby B was bouncing around like a maniac

Question-- are you guys showing? Kind of - I still just feel fat honestly.

@bumblebee0210 My OB told me to cool it on my weight gain, which was hilarious. Then I went home and ate a couple Oreos.

@travandas I'm going to freak out between 12 and 19 weeks - I cannot go that long without an ultrasound!

@swbecca528 they let me Facetime MH this time from the ultrasound, which was awesome.

@mvt200 That is a long time to go without a twin ultrasound! I would be freaking out also! Now that I am passed 16 weeks I will be getting ultrasounds at MFM every two weeks since they are mo/di...just to make sure one baby isn’t getting more blood & nutrients than the other. My next ultrasound is on my birthday and I’m taking my Mom with so she can see the girls! 😊

@travandas I agree - we're probably going to go to a boutique place to do one in the middle of the wait. My hospital is not allowing anyone but the patient in the building for ultrasounds etc, so MH probably won't get to see one at all. I bet your mom will be thrilled!!!

We have two full name candidates that we're mulling over, living with it for a bit. We're pretty decided that we're not sharing their names before birth, just in case we change our minds. We've chosen two family names for middle names, with new first names.

@mvt2003 It’s crazy how the rules are different at different offices. My OBGYN will only allow the patient and my MFM will allow 1 support person over the age of 18 with a mask on. Yes, she is a postpartum RN and still cannot believe I’m having twins. She actually worked in the NICU last week and loved it. I don’t blame you...I would want my husband to see an ultrasound also.

That’s great! I wouldn’t tell the names to anyone either. It seems like everyone has an opinion these days. I told my husband I wasn’t going to talk names until we knew what we were having. Now, I actually have to start looking 😂

@travandas Oh that's awesome! It will be so happy for you guys for her to get to see them too!

I was like oh effff when it was two girls only because we had two complete boys names decided on, so we were starting from scratch! We've been living with infertility for so long that we both kind of had ideas of what we like, and we were very lucky early on to narrow down what kind of names we both thankfully like. We like short first names with prominent vowel sounds, so that's been really helpful to have realized. We actually took my best friend's suggestion and we did a bracket of our top names, and that's how we landed on the two we have!

@mvt2003 I’m so happy for you and your hubby! A double blessing! I love the bracket idea that’s so fun! Our first baby we were team green so we had a name picked out for boy or girl. The last two babies we found out which helped narrow down the names. Now, figuring out twin girl names seems to be quite the task...lol I think boy names are easier!

Congrats to both of your on your girls! That is so exciting! Our appointment is next Wednesday! I have a feeling it is one of each.

We also have been working on names and have had our boys names solidified since I was pregnant with our daughter. Girls names are another story and have been much harder for us. We have about 6 names that we love, now we are just narrowing everything down.
