Oh hi! I am going to throw myself in this category because this will be my 4th c-section. I know I shouldn’t be getting a 4th one, I’ve done the research, and am just crossing my fingers. For those of you who haven’t had a c-section before, it sucks. Recovery sucks. Being awake while being sliced open is terrifying. Also, I’m 36, but my birthday is actually May 1st, so I might be 37 when I have my baby. Either way, I’m a geriatric pregnancy.
If you guys can help calm my nerves leading up to the surgery, you’ll be my friends for life. Each one gets harder.
GTKY- I met my spouse while he was working at Car Toys, and I needed a stereo system for my car (because that’s what was important to me when I was 20). He was very funny, and pretty handsome too.
What brings you to this thread? After a week loss last June after my water broke prematurely, all my future pregnancies will be high risk. The doctors weren't able to identify a cause for my PPROM so everything that may lead to preterm labor will be monitored: infections, cervical shortening or dilation. What is your plan for this pregnancy? I will be taking progesterone daily when the 2nd trimester hits and will get frequent cervical lengths. I plan on starting to breathe again around 24-25 weeks, breathe properly around week 28 and start to relax around week 34 😊 At this point, I'm trying not to worry about the 2nd trimester yet and take it a day/week/ultrasound at a time. I'll follow all doctors order. I've already been taking it really easy and I plan on taking this to the next level from weeks 15 to 24 hoping that if ever my cervix shortens or dilates early, I won't make it worse. But obviously the hope is that nothing is wrong with me and last time was a sad sad fluke. Anything we can help with? Just providing a place to vent 🤗 and to share my milestones GTKY - Tell us how you met your SO, if you are going through this with a partner. If not, tell us about your best friend! We met at a house party 7 years ago! It was one of my friends birthday party and her boyfriend invited a coworker who invited his best friend, my SO! He was meant to be introduced to another one of my friends but that didn't happen. 😅
@yellingbanana I’ve only had 1 c section, but before I had my daughter I told myself that wait her I’ll have pain before (labor and childbirth) or I’ll have pain after (c section recovery) I found it wasn’t as bad as I expected. I was terrified of the spinal block but once it was effective I was ok. For me I tell myself my dr has 12 years of medical training and has been practicing medicine for about 30 years. He knows what he’s doing. This time I’ll tell myself that and that last time it went fine and I know more about what I can share with the team. For example last time I kept vomiting after Zofran and had phenagren before I stopped vomiting.
What brings you to this thread? My last pregnancy I pushed to see mfm because I wasn’t comfortable with how they were handling my gd. In my first pregnancy my amniotic fluid got so low I had to deliver at 35 weeks. This was caught by my mfm. Also now I have type 2 diabetes and my a1c when I found out was an 8 or 9 in the last few years it’s been in the low 5s upper 4s, so managed, but my ob said I’ll see high risk. I’ll talk to him about it at my first prenatal appointment.
What is your plan for this pregnancy? Eat healthy, try to walk and exercise more. I’ve been very lazy this summer with not leaving the house and staying inside because it’s so hot out. But the weather will be nice for most of this pregnancy. It’s already getting cooler and our winters are very mild, so hopefully I’ll be walking more.
Anything we can help with? I think I’m ok for now, but I’m sure I’ll have my moments and need support. I’m already kind of nervous about returning to the office. Last time my boss asked me about it I told him not until phase 3 and now we are phase 3 so I asked for accommodations like a plexiglass and air purifier for my office since I spend about an hour with each client. Waiting on answers now.

Didn’t see him again for several years. We met again in high school and started dating our senior year. So we’ve been together For our entire adulthood and I can’t quite imagine life without him. It’s be like losing a limb or something, he’s always been there.

What brings you to this thread? I believe im considered high risk (41 y/o and this will be my 4th c-section) What is your plan for this pregnancy? Try to stay active and work out for the entire pregnancy. Anything we can help with? GTKY - Tell us how you met your SO, if you are going through this with a partner. @lilnessi I’m due May 5th, so it might actually be an April baby. But I hope May, my mom’s, favorite sister (yes I have a favorite), my dad, my grandma, grandpa, mine, and a whole bunch of cousins and in-laws have May birthdays. I’m May 1st. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we have the same birthday. Though because of my age, and I went into labor before my due date last time, the OB might want to schedule my dreaded c-section for end of April.
@yellingbanana I hope you get your May date then! For my sections my doctor always scheduled them a week before my due date. This will be my only non-july/august baby, and non Leo..my girls bdays are all a week apart 7/24, 7/31, 8,7
