High hcg...could it be multiples?

I’m about 6 weeks and my doctor sent me to get hcg blood work as part of their procedures for my first Ob appointment and the results came back 23,800. Could that be a sign of twins/multiples? Has anyone else experienced higher levels at this early in pregnancy?

ETA that 23,800 isn’t over the normal level for 6weeks.

High HCG could mean you’re further along in your pregnancy than you thought. Or it could be multiples. Or molar pregnancy. I think your OB would have said something if they thought it was a problem though.

I responded to you post in multiples, too, but that board has been pretty dead for awhile.

Here is a website as a point of reference, your levels are in-range for a normal, singleton pregnancy. I can’t say from experience what my HCG levels were at any point when I was pg with multiples, but only an u/s will confirm if there’s more than one. G/l!

Update...had an ultrasound today and they confirmed twins 💕 Measuring at 6w 4d.
