Weekly randoms 9/14

I don't think this was started yet...

Re: Weekly randoms 9/14

  • Omg sorry for the million threads!!!!!!

  • Now I'm hoping people use this one and not all of them 😂
  • Anyways..... I wanted to post about current air quality since it relates to my work.

For those in the Midwest and East you might be noticing visible haze due to the wildfires. The good news is that this pollution is sitting really high and you won't notice any health effects at ground level. There is a chance of a cold front coming in and temporarily pushing some of the pollution down but the front itself will be clean air. Unfortunately the west coast is in pretty rough shape ☹️ I hope everyone out there is able to stay indoors with a good air filter ❤️
  • We got bagels before outdoor church on Sunday and I told my H to pick up a double chocolate chip muffin in case I needed to bribe DS to be good. I didn’t even get to the muffin before DS took off for the playground so it’s been sitting on our kitchen counter for two days. I should not be eating muffins (or bagels) even though I passed my GD test, but I finally lost all will power and ate the muffin and it was DIVINE 🤤
  • @moguippy that muffin sounds so good. Your kid gets really good bribe treats! I bribe my son with raisins. 😆
  • I’ve been trying for three days to post my pups on the animal thread and it keeps telling me my post has to be approved. The glitches with TB this week are super annoying.
  • @hannahbananas11 he usually does not get something that good lol. But it was the first week back at church for us in like 6 months and I knew it was gonna be tough. We started with his bagel, moved on the pirates booty that came in the kids bag with coloring book/etc (odd snack for them to give out at 9am?), and then moved on to a banana which he dropped in the grass while running laps around my chair. He had already been sitting for like 40 minutes at that point and that is a lot for a high energy 2 y/o. I gave up the second time he ran to the A/V setup to see H and brought him to the fenced in playground, and streamed the service on my phone while he played. I should have brought raisins. He loves raisins lol.
  • Gross story for y’all: I was walking the dog in the front yard this morning (his normal fenced in area in our backyard is being worked on right now so it’s off-limits to him), and DS was walking behind me a bit. Suddenly he came up to me with what I assumed was a small rock in his hand, but when he proudly handed it to me, I realized it was moose poop. My kid was collecting moose poop. 🤮 We made a beeline for the house and washed our hands. It’s like a cat bringing its owner dead animals as gifts, but a toddler bringing his parent animal droppings instead. 🤣

My hand slipped and went thrifting and grabbed a dozen or so L/S onsies & sleepers for like a buck a piece today after work. Oops.

  • @WildMagelet there is a weeklong virtual consignment sale near me and I bought my DS a bunch of stuff that he probably doesn’t need lol. And a 0-3 month bunting (I think that’s what it’s called?) for like $3. I’m not even sorry.
  • @moguippy we haven't gone back to regular church services for this very reason. They haven't opened children's nursery and he was already becoming handful sitting before covid so I am not in the mood to handle him now. We usually live stream it, but honestly sometimes we are slackers on that. Kudos to you for entertaining your 2 y/o through that!

@hannahbananas11 YUCK MOOSE POOP! i thought you were gonna say dog poop then i had to read the word moose twice LOL

@wildmagelet i need to find some good sales or something soon, because my DS needs bigger fall clothes but I am being so cheap and also haven't found anything that speaks to me now that he is in 2t/3t stuff but also the last two times i went shopping with the intenion of getting his stuff, i end up buying baby stuff cuz the sales are better OOPS. Also, I am struggling because his butt seems too snug in 2t clothes, but they are long on him so I am afriad 3t will be way to big. but this kid has a butt and thighs man!
  • @PinkKathryn12 I’m having the opposite problem with my DS lol. He has long legs and a tiny waist. He is almost 27 months and wore 18mo shorts all summer. Now that it’s cooler and time for pants everything either is too short but fits in the waist or perfect length and too big in the waist. Do I buy a belt for a 2yo 😂? He’s mostly just been wearing pants that are too short.  Eh. It’s just for daycare.  I’m thinking he’s gonna grow soon anyway. Maybe if you buy 3T you could roll up the legs?
  • @moguippy @PinkKathryn12 Scored some more for $.50 - $.98 at another store, and a set of 3 Harry Potter L/S onsies for less than $4. I made off better than I expect too, especially being Team Green.

  • Did y’all see the news about RBG? I’m so sad and furious at the world. 2020 can go straight to hell.
  • @hannahbananas11 yes. 😔 Very scared.
  • @birdiejo Me too. I’m really scared for my LGBTQ friends. I’ve emailed my senators. I think that’s our only shot at this point. So many rights are at stake with this. :disappointed:
  • @hannahbananas11 so sad and so scary
