Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Friday 9/18

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Friday 9/18

  • Sorry for the post-and-ghost yesterday. We got some unfortunate news in the morning (see randoms thread if interested) and I just couldn’t focus all day. I don’t want to be that person, so I included my responses to the people I missed yesterday.

@ashaislurking I hope everything went well with your blood work this week. Thyroid stuff is annoying but treatable!

@bows22 I also would rather have a bagel with cream cheese than cake. Luckily for my waist line, my favorite bagel place from where I used to live does not have any locations near me now, or I would be so large haha

@doubleup8 It is still so hot here, a gloomy day by a fire place sounds phenomenal

@akoros Luckily I can’t keep any plants alive, so there is no danger of me having to intentionally kill them to replace them!

@runningoncookies I will never mourn the end of summer. My premature fall decorating definitely is a “if you build it they will come” type of phenomenon.

    Month/Cycle: 9/2 AL, but benched

    CD/DPO: 21/4

    Timing: ha

    Typical LP length: 13 days

    Testing: no point

R/R: Rant at the universe in general. Results back yesterday were bad, so now I am indefinitely benched. Currently waiting to hear back about scheduling genetic counseling apt. I am so sick of waiting and doing nothing.

CS/Q: Finally got CH for what that is worth.

  • @fitzfizz I read your post in the randoms thread and I'm so sorry you got bad news. Sending lots of hugs ❤️❤️

    Month/Cycle: 39/28

    CD/DPO: 24/8

    Timing: -3, +2

    Typical LP length: 13 days

Testing: next weekend or Friday if AF never shows

R/R: yay Friday! DH is off today so idk what he'll be doing. We've been in a habit of going for a walk most days. We were going to yesterday but then he had a pinched nerve or something in his foot. Poor guy, such an old man 😅 why does stuff like this start to happen in our 30s? We're not that old!

CS/Q: all these temp bumps are making me very suspicious. Waking up sometimes my stomach will feel off which I'm not trying to SS about so I'm trying to tell myself it's likely from not having a large dinner. But last night we had Five Guys burgers and fries! I pigged out!

  • @inthewoods23 Getting older sucks! I'm definitely feeling the differences of being in my 30s.

@fitzfizz So sorry that you are benched. That has got to be so frustrating.  <3

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD/DPO: 23/8

    Timing: -3, -2, O

    Typical LP length: 14 days

Testing: Trying like hell to hold out! So far so good and it's actually been a relief to not worrying about analyzing a HPT.

R/R: Super busy lately, always feeling like I am behind. I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend but my DH has just informed me that he told family we'd be coming up to visit this weekend. Without running it by me...grrr..

CS/Q: Still suck at charting. @inthewoods23 I am also trying not to SS but it's so hard. I've had some nausea and lightheadedness the past couple of days and that's definitely out of the norm for me.

  • @fitzfizz  Is the bagel place you love Brueggers?? I’m going to head to randoms after this but my heart already hurts for you ❤️   I’m so sorry your results weren’t what we all wanted for you! Life is so not fair.

@inthewoods23 that is a nice looking chart! I swear my body started falling apart the day I turned 30. Having MH home with me while he’s off and I’m working would be so annoying so hopefully YH doesn’t flaunt his non-working status

    Month/Cycle: 22/24

    CD/DPO: 21/6

    Timing: -2,-1,O

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: I think Tuesday

R/R: Well going into the office ended up being a great decision yesterday. My boss asked if I had anything ready for him to review and I said no but if you are looking for work you can do X and he agreed! I was planning to do it this weekend so now as long as I can tackle my list today I should be able to take a mental break this weekend. On the agenda is a pumpkin spice latte, heading to a local farm for mums and picking apples, and decorating the house. Fall is (almost) here ladies!!

    CS/Q:

  • @babyfeverbeliever posting at the same time and I missed you! Surprise weekend plans are not fun. I hope you can at least limit your time there so that you can relax some at home too
  • @babyfeverbeliever I've come to learn that every symptom isn't anything new in my TWW. I'm just noticing it more now that I'm tracking things. Plus, you really don't have pregnancy symptoms until a week or so after you test (or so I'm told :D since I've never been KU). I have had a few times of symptoms being stronger than usual, but obviously it hasn't meant anything. Hope you can enjoy your weekend!

@bows22 it's just one PTO day so I can live lol even if he's got all the freedom in the world today. I might tell him he should work on getting his laundry washed (it's like a tornado went through his closet and spilled out into the bedroom). We have so many laundry baskets that he doesn't use, it's nuts. If he's using them, it's because it already has his washed and dried clothes in them that he just leaves in the laundry room! He'll go to the laundry room in the morning and grab the shirt/socks/whatever he needs for the day. Omg what a rant about laundry  :D I should start pulling out my fall items so I can get those out! Fall is my favorite season to decorate for. I don't do Halloween decorations though. It's the same for Thanksgiving and Christmas (except for one or two santa things and the Christmas tree).

Warning, this might be a post-and-ghost since I have another crazy day at work today. But I really wanted to participate this week and weekend threads tend to be quiet.

@fitzfizz I posted a reply to your post in Randoms and just want to say once again how sorry I am that you’re having to go through this. I don’t know how it feels and if this is better than having no reason for a loss, so I’ll just once again channel support your way.

@inthewoods23 oh man I’d be going out of my mind with that chart! (more on that below)! Also re: YH and laundry... frig, sounds like MH too. He does his laundry and then puts it on the floor if he doesn’t have time to fold it! I guess that’s an improvement over when he would leave clean laundry in his hamper so I didn’t know what the floor pile was. He says “it’s a system.” 🤦🏼‍♀️

@babyfeverbeliever I would really hate it if MH committed me to something that involves family without consulting w/ so you have every right to feel pissed off. Despite this, I still hope you manage to have a good weekend.

@bows22 way to go on getting your boss to help you with work! First of all, he must be a great boss to have had the foresight to ask. Your weekend plans are 👌🏻. Sending you productive vibes so that you don’t have to work this weekend!

    AFM...

    Month/Cycle: 8/8

    CD/DPO: 23/11

    Timing: -1, +1 (insemination)

Typical LP length: on progesterone so I control how long it is

    Testing: tested yesterday, BFN 🙁

R/R: Yesterday, a fertility buddy from the other forum pointed out that my O was actually a day earlier than I thought which made me realize I’ve been counting O wrong all this time. I blame Premom app since it marks O 1 day after peak OPK and I started Premom before also starting to use FF so I’ve been literally overriding O that what FF was pinpointing. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Anyway, so it turned out that yesterday I was 10DPO and not 9DPO like I had though.

FURTHERMORE, I’ve been SSing something awful this TWW (far worse than any other) and my chart has been unlike any other cycle chart (I had previously mentioned I’d only test 12DPO unless the tea leaves... aka bbt chart... told me otherwise). So I tested on of course BFN. In the meanwhile, my nipples have been tender for the past 3-4 days which I’ve never experienced in LP before. And I’ve feeling the feeling of watery discharge, though I’m now thinking it’s just discharge from/of my progesterone suppositories. Anyways, chart (see below) + tender boobs + plus discharge feeling has been holding me hostage all this week. Was really bummed with the BFN yesterday, even though I had been mentally prepared for it.

Anyway, today there was a dip so I’m pretty sure I’m not KU; DH was so sweet this AM (he didn’t know I took a test yesterday) and asked “when do we start taking pregnancy tests?” He then followed up with “on a scale of 1-10, how pregnant do you feel.” To which I replied “2.”

ETA: my RHR has also been way higher this TWW than any other; but also up and down.

Hi, all! I intro'ed on the newbies thread (only one I saw was w/o 9/7). Excited to be back here and hopefully I will get into the swing of things quickly.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 17/4

    Timing: -5, -3, O, +3

    Typical LP length: 14

    Testing: Not unless late.

R/R: We have home office furniture delivering today for my DH. I'm not sure what I am more excited about - setting up the office or getting my dining room back.

CS/Q:  Still learning my FF chart, temping and OPK. Last month I didn't temp and just did OPK and showed I peak on CD 14/15 and this round with temping I O'd on CD 13.  Looking forward to learning more about my cycle and what the heck is actually going on.

    ETA: chart

  • @And846 Congrats on getting proper furniture for your home office. I hope it positively affects your productivity.

R/R: had a great hike this morning. Now throng to decide what to do for lunch. It was really hot in our room last night, or at least I was really hot. Only had a few glasses of wine over 5 hours, so I don't think it was the wine. Temp might be down a little because I kicked off a lot of the covers

CS/Q: if temps drops tomorrow, I'll worry I'm out, but will probably still test tomorrow.

    Edit: removing weird spacing.

  • @fitzfizz I'm so sorry about the news you got, and that you're unsure of how long you're going to be benched/where you're going to need to go from here. Hopefully you can meet with a genetic counselor soon!
@inthewoods23 Happy Friday! Hopefully YH's foot feels better soon. My mom and my drag dad both have plantar fascitis and something that helps them is keeping 3/4 of a water bottle frozen sideways that they can roll their foot over when they're feeling pain. Maybe that might help YH?
@babyfeverbeliever I'm sorry YH made weekend plans without letting you know. Hopefully you can still get some good relaxation time in.
@bows22 I hope you get an awesome mental health break this weekend! I'm glad going into the office was good for you yesterday.
@acleverusername I use a handful of different apps to track (premom, FF, Kindara, and Femometer) and I've found that FF tends to be the most accurate of the apps even though they all have the exact same information. So sorry about your BFN. They can definitely hit hard even if we're expecting it. A lot of the symptoms you're experiencing sound like progesterone symptoms to me.
@And846 I think quite a few of our weekly threads got missed this week, so definitely don't worry about posting on last week's intro thread. Welcome back! I'm glad you're getting your dining room back! Getting projects finished is always a good feeling.
@DoubleUp8 I'm glad you had a great hike this morning! Your chart is still on an overall up trend. Fingers crossed for you!

    Month/Cycle: 8/6
    CD/DPO: 32/12
    Timing: -2, 0
    Typical LP length: 14 days
Testing: BFN again today, honestly not expecting a positive this cycle but still holding out hope for a semi-normal cycle. Fingers crossed.
R/R: I still haven't gotten lab results back. I'm heading in to see my PCP again in a little over an hour (mental health and other routine stuff) and I might have my thyroid panel back by then. I'm still waiting on my progesterone labs through my ObGyn's office too. Those should definitely be back today. We were hoping they'd be back Wendesday. I don't know what's up with that. At this point I just want a semi-normal cycle. I submitted an application yesterday to join my state's ACA (American Counseling Association) graduate committee. I just need to finish updating my resume and get that submitted as well. Lucky for me, there aren't any other applicants from my side of the state and there's only a week left to apply so my chances are pretty good. I'm excited!

  • Update for me: I got my thyroid labs back and those were totally normal, which is awesome. I also just got a call from one of the nurses at my ObGyn's office (my ObGyn and her nurse are out of the office until Monday) and my progesterone was... not great. My progesterone came back at a 5.9 and it's supposed to be around 10 or higher at that point in my cycle. My ObGyn's nurse will call me on Monday to talk about what to do from here because either my progesterone is just low or I'm not ovulating.

  • @acleverusername I hope you are testing again tomorrow and not counting yourself out yet, that dip is nothing! And 10 dpo can def be too early to turn a test. Trust me on both counts, I’ve seen a lot of charts!

    @DoubleUp8 good luck testing tomorrow!!

@a@ashaislurking glad your thyroid panel looked good! What day did you have your progesterone done? I’m sure you know about the CD21 not being accurate so that’s not where I’m going with that, but I am still curious!
  • @acleverusername "it's a system"  :D man what is with our husbands. It's like when I move something that's just laying around and he'll ask where it went and heaven forbid I should put it away lol. Your BBT dip isn't that much, you may still be okay! FX

@And846 Welcome! I wish I could have the dining room table back at my house! And it's not even due to it being used as a home office desk. Most of it is papers and other weird junk that doesn't belong on it. Ugh. Of course it's mostly DH's stuff too so it's not even my responsibility to clean up.

@DoubleUp8 the nearest five guys to us closed out of nowhere some time ago so we haven't had it in so long. I had picked it up after my baseline appointment with the 2nd RE and then I happily went out for it yesterday since DH couldn't make burgers yesterday with his aching foot. Their cajun fries are sooooo good. You seem to have an up/down pattern with your temps so hopefully it pops back up again!

@ashaislurking we have a couple of those small massager balls that he could roll under his foot, but he said it was coming from the top of his foot. Super weird. I think it's happened to me once or twice though. Are they going to have you add progesterone to supplement your LP? What could have made things go wonky lately?? I really hope things get back to normal for you. I feel like you've spend the whole year just trying to figure cycles out and deal with other non-TTC health issues!

@inthewoods23 I'm not sure what made things go so wonky lately. I don't know if they're going to try supplementing progesterone first or if they're going to do extra monitoring to make sure I'm ACTUALLY ovulating.

  • @fitzfizz I’m so sorry for the bad news...sending you lots of hugs today

@inthewoods23 I accidentally/embarrassingly injured the top of my foot once from tying my sneakers too tight for a few weeks. Hopefully YH feels better soon!

@babyfeverbeliever ugh! So annoying to have surprise plans thrown at you.

@acleverusername FX for you! Your chart still looks good!

    @bows22 that sounds like a lovely weekend...enjoy!!

@And846 new furniture is always exciting!

@DoubleUp8 yay for a great morning hike!

@ashaislurking I’m glad your thyroid levels came back good! Hopefully your doctor will have a good plan for your progesterone levels

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD/DPO: 30/10

    Timing: -5 -3, -1, O, +1

Typical LP length: on progesterone so at least 14

Testing: maybe tomorrow? I’m being wishy-washy. Probably sometime this weekend for sure

R/R: Happy Friday! Man am I happy it’s the weekend. I had such a frustrating day at work today with a lot of things being difficult/time consuming that should’ve been easy. BUT I got home and DH had cleaned the whole house. Love him. And we are getting takeout tonight...just have to decide where!

    CS/Q:

  • @ashaislurking FX for you to make it onto the graduate committee! That would be a really great opportunity for you!

@runningoncookies what a treat coming home to a clean house! I love when my DH does that! Your chart is looking really nice. FX for you!

@DoubleUp8 your chart looks nice! FX And so glad you're enjoying your time at the lake. Your chart looks niiiiiiice.

@ashaislurking FX that you're able to get into ACA! Re: progesterone, of course I'm not a medical professional so take it with a grain of salt, but in my case, when my Pg came back at 6.7 (7DPO), my OB said that if Pg is over 3, that means you've ovulated. So, please don't freak out yet. They'll likely get you to supplement post ovulation. Once again though, not a medical professional but someone with personal experience (and have also done A LOT of independent research). And yep! I definitely came to the same conclusion re: my symptoms (that it's progesterone triggered). Funny enough, this is the 2nd month on progesterone supplements, and I didn't have any of these symptoms last TWW. Oh well.

@bows22 yep! Will test tomorrow again and still trying to stay positive.

@runningoncookies I'm sorry to hear you had a such a crappy day. But YH sounds like he knows a thing or two to make a rough day seem like a thing of the past. Enjoy your takeout and hopefully your weekend is relaxing. Also... your chart looks super nice as well! FX.

  • @acleverusername That's kind of what I read as well- over 3 means ovulation happened over 10 is enough to support a pregnancy. The nurse (who isn't my ObGyn's nurse but another nurse in the office) said my progesterone levels were still questionable as to whether I ovulated or not. Hopefully I am ovulating and it's just low progesterone, but we'll hopefully have more answers soon. Fingers crossed!

  • @inthewoods23 Your chart looks beautiful! If you don’t, I will still get excited about the temp bumps.

@babyfeverbeliever I hope the family time turns out more fun than expected.

@bows22 Einstein Bagels actually (Asiago bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese for the win!) but now I want to try Brueggers. Your fall plans sound like so much fun!

@acleverusername Agreed your chart looks so promising! I can see why you tested early

@and846 I hope you have fun setting up the office. I love new furniture

@doubleup8 Good luck with the test tomorrow! So many promising charts here today

@ashaislurking So odd that your progesterone is that low. Your chart certainly looks like you ovulated. I hope that they can get you a plan soon.

@runningoncookies When I saw that your husband spontaneously cleaned the whole house, my first thought was “I bet she had good timing this month,” and you did! Love it haha

  • @fitzfizz I also started spotting some tonight *sigh* to be expected but that also points to a somewhat normal LP which also points to O so I don't know what's going on with my progesterone being that low. Hopefully my ObGyn and I have a good conversation on Monday about it.
