WTF at my BBT. Today was the third day in a row after a positive OPK that I got a nearly identical low temp. Without getting up or moving, I pulled out the battery and put it back in, then rechecked and got my usual post-O range. I don’t trust this thing at all, and I have already ordered a new one for next cycle. 🙄
@fitzfizz Sorry about the untrustworthy thermometer. It’s the worst when you can’t rely on something so critical to giving you insight. I’ve bought several new thermometers due to that type of issue. Hope it keeps working for you now that you checked the battery! At least until the new one arrives.
So I’m late to posting in general this week but I just have to get this serious WTF off my chest: Some of you know I have immune issues that affect TTC. My immunologist told me I would need IVIG: it costs $$$$ and my insurance already denied my appeals twice. Soooo, I spent a ton of time on the phone with the only specialty pharmacy in my state that my insurance “prefers”, trying to get them to work with me on the price since I have to pay out of pocket. This specialty pharmacy is nowhere near me, requiring me to pay for a flight to get there. They also charge FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for ONE infusion. I told them I have a prescription from another doctor to get it from a pharmacy in another state for half the price. I asked if I paid for it at the out-of-state pharmacy and then had them send it straight to my in-state pharmacy on dry ice, could I just pay them for nursing & facility fees to have it administered with them locally? This all took weeks of communication, and the final answer was still No. Due to where we are at with TTC I had to bite the bullet & pay that hard cash for the first infusion this week. The nurse spent the better part of 5 hours trying to reassure me that they work hard to get the best possible lowest price on it for their patients.
A day later I posted in a national RI group asking what other people pay for the same medicine in other states, and saying that I was willing to fly there to save that money. People in the middle of the country responded that they pay 1/3 of what I paid, others on the West coast paid 1/2. Someone IN MY STATE responded with a local price & local infusion center that will save me $TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS!! WTF?!?! I’m sooo glad to have the new information, but soooo mad at the place I’ve been going to for treatment!🤬🤯🥵 ETA: I just keep calming myself by saying “When you know better, you do better.” At least it was only a one-time inflation experience. Now I can go to the new place I learned about.
