  • How far along are you?
20 weeks / Baby is the size of a boarding pass / DD 1 February

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?
I’m doing okay. The anatomy scan was a pretty big high last week but it still feels odd to be 5 weeks between appointments again. I’m super thankful that there are no signs of preterm labor and that everything looks good so we can stay on the East Coast a little longer and drive back with MH. Last night and yesterday sucked a little because he wasn’t moving around as much and it makes me nervous. I’ve felt him some this morning so I think everything is fine.
    Also, heartburn sucks.

    Any upcoming appointments?
    21 October

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite meal?
Lasagna with asparagus and chocolate sour cream cake. It’s my birthday meal every year.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? So much heartburn!, fatigue, lightheadedness, trouble sleeping. Both excited and nervous for my anatomy scan on Wed. Bummed my H can’t come.

Any upcoming appointments? AS on Wed

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite meal? This is a tough one. Probably hibachi. Or some real good Mac n cheese.
  • 20+1 today

AS is tomorrow and I'm ready to just stop being anxious about it.
    @moguippy ❤️

GTKY: I'm always happy about pizza 😂 but if we're talking something fancy... A really good steak with green beans and a cocktail
  • I'm super excited for all of you to have your AS this week! 🥰

    How far along are you?
18 +1 (baby is the size of a sugar glider!)

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?  I really can't complain, I really haven't had any nausea, sickness or extreme fatigue. My migraines have been more intense than when I'm not pregnant but I'm learning my triggers and managing! No weird cravings or food aversions either.

Last week I got diagnosed with placenta previa which is causing some very nerve-wracking bleeding, but I'm told it's normal...

Feeling baby for the first time in the last few days which is incredible! Definitely makes going so long between appointments easier.

Any upcoming appointments?  AS on the 28th - but we aren't finding out what we're having  :)

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite meal? I've always been an all food lover - But anything Italian is my absolute favorite!

How far along are you?  19+2

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Good! Still occasionally have to take tylenol for the breast pain, especially on the days when it's been freakishly chilly this week.

Any upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan next week 9/22 with MFM.  DH can't get off of work so my mom's planning on coming with me. <3 General OB follow-up the next day on 9/23.
GTKY: What is your absolute favorite meal? I love food, so I couldn't pick just one.

Dine-In: miso soup, ginger-dressed salad, sushi (especially any roll with spicy mayo) and crab rangoon.with hot green tea.
Carry-Out: Bacon cheeseburger pizza from a local hole in the wall pizzeria/bar (with mustard and pickle!) and a regular Coke.
Make-at-home: Sausage, Egg & Cheese muffin sandwiches with coffee & orange juice.
Although the OMG I waited all year for this favorite is my birthday-dessert that I have every year, consisting of a traditional ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. I was SUPER SAD I couldn't have it this year because of the GD dx. Although, to be fair, I can't eat any of those (in their entirety) until after the baby gets here. Too many empty carbs =(

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Pretty good. I think I’m finally feeling movement but I’ve been so distracted that it’s always a moment of oh was that something? Oh well... the moment passed.

    Any upcoming appointments? @rubyroux_89
I’m with you on the 28th and also not finding out!

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite meal? I don’t think I can choose! Maybe sushi? I love food !
  • looking forward to hearing good things from the anatomy scans this week @jumpy57 and @moguippy!
  • @mdfarmchick The MFM dr was at the hospital so I just had the scan with the tech. I’m pretty sure everything looked good but I think the dr will probably call me to go over the results. Baby was stubborn and she spent like 15 minutes trying to get a shot of his right hand bc he wouldn’t open it
  • How far along are you?  20 weeks

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Exhausted and hating heartburn

Any upcoming appointments? Had my as yesterday and I think everything went well but I don’t see the ob until the 30th and she is supposed to call me if they see anything wrong. I haven’t gotten a call yet so I’m taking it as a good sign.

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite meal? Jets cheese pizza with a cold Dr Pepper to drink. Yes, I’m a child.

Well apparently everything was not ok at the anatomy scan today. My OB called and said they found baby has echogenic bowel. I did the bad thing and googled it and basically the internet says that it is usually an indicator that something else is wrong. It could be linked to a chromosomal issue, cystic fibrosis, infection, or a few other things. I did do a first trimester NIPT test that came back normal but that only tested for the more common chromosomal abnormalities (trisomy 15,18,21, etc). I think I got tested with my DS and I’m not a carrier for CF but I guess I’ll have to ask my OB bc I don’t remember. She wants me to have an appt with a genetics counselor to see if there is anything that could be happening. We did the same counseling when I was pregnant with DS bc H has a familial history of Marfan’s syndrome and they didn’t find anything then so I’m not sure what would be different now other than I’ve had a loss since then. I will have a follow up ultrasound in 4 weeks. My OB said it is possible it could just be “shadows on the ultrasound” and the next ultrasound may be fine but who knows. Now I get to have a crap ton of anxiety for the next 4 weeks.
  • @moguippy ughhh. They won’t do a follow up ultrasound for four weeks?? 😑😕 I hope it really is just shadows on the ultrasound.
  • @mdfarmchick so I did a little more research and it seems that it can resolve itself. So I’m guessing they want to give it time to do that if it’s going to. It’s a “soft marker” for a lot of things which increases the risk of chromosomal abnormalities and all that other stuff, but since I had a normal NIPT test, my overall risk for chr abnormalities remains low. Even if it resolves itself it still counts as a soft marker. Another source said no cause is ever found and it resolves itself in a lot of cases which gives me more hope. And yet another source said it could be from a bleed in the uterus which I had in the beginning. I will get ultrasounds every 4 weeks from here on out anyway due to my Hashimotos so they will keep an eye on it. Apparently it can also cause IUGR and some other stuff so we’ll just wait it out and see. The internet says I could get an amnio to see what’s really going on but my OB didn’t mention it so I probably won’t as of now.
  • @moguippy all of that is much more reassuring. As for the genetics counseling, did they do a wide screening panel to see if you and YH were carriers for any genetic diseases?
  • @mdfarmchick no, my H and I didn’t do carrier screening. My OB screens the mom for the major diseases and I don’t think I was a carrier for any (CF, SMA, maybe more?). I don’t think my insurance covers carrier screening so we opted not to do it. I think H’s sister did it a couple years ago and she wasn’t a carrier for anything so hopefully H isn’t either. I’m hoping it’s just going to be the “we don’t know why it’s there and it will go away” type. Or due to the bleeding I had and not something serious.
  • @moguippy I’m so sorry for the stress and I hope it resolves itself by your next ultrasound!!!
  • @moguippy if you decide to do the genetic screening with carrier screening, I’d talk to a MFM—their office was able to get my insurance to cover carrier screening for both MH and I ((on their website it says they don’t)) and after three losses and being high risk, it’s at least reassuring to know we aren’t carriers for the same things. Anyway, sometimes a specialist can get things covered that you don’t think would be covered. For instance my OB wanted to do the testing but said it would probably be out of pocket. And the MFM office ran it for a preapproval before sending my samples off so that I wasn’t out anything if insurance didn’t cover it. It does sound really promising in your case that things are fine and it will resolve itself. Just sharing things I wish I knew two losses ago. ♥️
  • @moguippy - I'm sorry you're having to go through that =( my anxiety would be all over the place for the next four weeks if I were in your shoes. Hopefully it's just a shadow and there's nothing to worry about. Fx that you get answers soon.

  • I received a message today that I need another ultrasound because they didn’t get the profile, umbilical cord or heart. I’m a little nervous, but excited to see him again!

I had a message that MFM wants me to come in at 12:00 next week. My appointment isn't until 12:45, why do you need me there a whole 45 minutes early. Why not just make my appointment time 12:00?!

So now I'm debating if I even want to go into work at all. I was going to go for a few hours, but now I'm sort of feeling "what's the point"?

@babymamadimo - They just missed them? or they weren't clear? I just assumed they had a basic checklist of must-have shots for that sort of thing. Was your tech new-ish?  Either way, yay you get to see him again <3

  • I’m getting nervous for my ultrasound. I’m excited for the appointment but It’s nerve wracking and still over a week away!
  • @WildMagelet our tech was a total buzz kill. She had like no personality and when we left I told my husband that it was really weird that she didn’t check the heart. I remember them checking all 4 chambers with my son and she just took the heart rate, quick picture and moved on. The umbilical cord she did try to get but he was so wiggly that she couldn’t get it. I also think she could have tried a little longer and no have no clue how she missed the profile! That is super weird that you have to come in 45 mins early. I hate waiting around in the office!

im definitely excited to see him again just not excited to pay for another scan 😬
  • @moguippy I'm really hoping everything resolves for your baby especially since it doesn't sound like anything chromosomal would be the cause ❤️
