How are you feeling: a little less bloat but still slight nausea and soooo so tired. I am getting used to twice weekly progesterone injections that I have to do myself, and both times I’ve done it my muscle cramps up and I literally can barely walk the next day, and can’t sleep because it’s painful. If anyone has experience giving yourself injections I’d love to hear if you dealt with this!

Rants/Raves/Questions: anyone who already has 2 kids, when did you find you had to start teaching your older child not to climb all over your tummy?

GTKY: What is your favorite animal? I love cats and dogs and have one of each, and I love guinea pigs!

During my first pregnancy I had to give myself insulin injections twice a day. I found it helped to give the injections in different spots. To in the morning I’d to left and in the afternoon I’d do it on the right. If you have optional areas to give the injections I’d try to alternate as much as possible.

  • @mkc3888 thanks, I’m going to try the other hip but it happened the very first time, so I don’t think it’s an issue of repeating the same spot. It’s also a 1.5” needle so hip/butt is really the only option 😬
  • @ckmb_1250 I find the butt to be better than the hip for comfort. Wherever has a little more cushion :)

  • @mkc3888 I am doing like, right above the crack and on the outer cheek, is that where you do it? 😂
  • @ckmb_1250 My insulin shots we in my lower fat roll lol.  However when I got depo shots in the past they told me hip or butt.  I tried both and I found outer upper butt was the least painful spot.

How are you feeling: I’m feeling pretty good actually. A little cramping and tired all the time. But other than that feel great.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I’ve been under a lot of stress this week. My grandma passed away this weekend so It’s been very emotional. And doing virtual 4K with my 4 year old has been a struggle lol.

GTKY: What is your favorite animal? Sloth or Otter

@mkc3888 We just told our 4 year old this weekend. Specifically for the reason of @ckmb_1250 ‘s question. Lol he is a rough and tumble kid and likes to constantly wrestle and jump on me. So we started the conversation early. And plus I wanted to see his excitement every week when I read to him all the baby stuff when the week changes. He’s been begging for a sibling since he could talk lol
  • Also, just thought of a question as I’m reading these replies. I’m also on progesterone. I was on it for my sons pregnancy also. But I got it in pill form. Am I the only one that has it that way vs. a shot or a suppository? Is that normal?

@SU1989 if that’s working for you it’s normal! Sometimes people don’t respond enough to the oral or suppository version and have to do the injection. I used the suppository in my last pregnancy. I started on the suppository this time but my progesterone was at 23.8. My Dr likes to see progesterone above 25 so she suggested the injection.
*editing because I know progesterone can be a tricky subject, I’m pretty sure my progesterone was a 10 in my last pregnancy at week 4 and I used the suppository & was fine. I didnt want to freak anyone out with #s.
  • @mkc3888 that makes sense. Mine was 11. But I have never had it rechecked to make sure it’s working. I guess that’s good to know for future. Thank you!
  • @su1989 I’m sorry for your loss!

my daughter is also 4 and I know she’ll be excited. I just don’t want to tell everyone yet and my mom watches her for me to work. My husband wanted to tell everyone right away. I told him not until my first appointment at the earliest which will be 8 weeks.
