Phrases like, "Just saying", "It is what it is", and "Irregardless" are like nails on a chalkboard for me.
Sidenote: Just realized that these are all stock phrases that my MIL uses. 🤣 Her go to fussy baby catchphrase: "She's filing a complaint." Ugggghhh I am not looking forward to that phrase coming out of retirement.
@mamatohne I HATE that! I probably have a ton that I can't think of right now but I can't understand how my husband can't close any kind of door to save his life ever...cabinet doors, doors to rooms, I just don't understand lol!
Oh thought of another one! When people describe anything other than food as "yummy" or "delicious." I follow a lot of home design/DIY bloggers/influencers and so many of them do it. It makes my stomach turn every time. Especially "yummy" *barf*
The overuse of the word ‘like’. When I was teaching, I put a sign up with a big red line through ‘like’. It is a filler word. My kids know, but sometimes their friends start throwing down all these ‘like’s and it drives me nuts.
When people stand near the back of a line and then when you stand behind them are like "oh, I'm not in line!" Really? There was nowhere for you to stand but at the back of a line? 🙃🤣
