Y’all. My meal plan was in shambles by the end of last week 🤦🏼♀️ Food is so no bueno right now. I did plan for this week tho, but mostly just super fast to get it over with and who knows if I’ll be able to cook (or eat) these meals.
Mon: hubs grilled burgers & veggies Tues: chicken pot pie Weds: taco salad Thurs: chicken enchiladas Fri: pasta & meat sauce
GTKY: This one tickled me, not sure why 🤣 (maybe appealing to my ocd self haha). I love me a good PBJ sandwich. I always spread the PB first, then jam (no jelly!). I’m super particular about type of both. Ratio is heavier on the PB for sure.
@goldpolkadot Even my picky hubby came around to tofu! My next mission is mushrooms 😂. (For almost 5 years of marriage he refused even ONION in his food. Like full out refused to eat the meal...now he loves onion 🤪. He’s a tough nut to crack lol).

Still not much of a meal planner over here, but I did learn a fun fact this weekend - if you use a precision cooker to sous vide meat or eggs, it's safe to eat med rare steak and runny eggs (it pasteurizes them!). This was great news for me because I typically love a good filet (even though I've had a meat aversion during the first trimester) and I was worried I couldn't have steak unless it was well done (gross). Also, I love runny eggs and I had some nice poached eggs this weekend! I actually enjoyed eggs benedict (with the hollandaise from the packet mix so there was no raw egg). It was delicious.
My meal planning for this week has consisted of finding the lowest sodium processed food i can put in my air fryer. Normally i cook a lot, but the exhaustion has really gotten to me haha
Peanut butter first all the way! I too am very particular in my proportions of pb and jelly.
@kelseyhh that is awesome that you got DD to eat onion! Mine avoids onion and bell peppers, and it drives me nuts because i can eat sautéed onions and peppers with everything!
Grilled cheese for every meal. Is that a meal plan? We're actually out of bread right now so I need to order a grocery delivery. The family is eating real food.
Pb first - I do it on both sides of the bread (in a thin layer). And jelly ratio should be slightly higher than PB.
My meal planning sucks right now. I did make a super easy crockpot spaghetti with frozen meatballs tonight and My kids said it was the best meal ever. I may just keep up that kind of meal planning for the next few weeks.
PB first here too. And Pb and jelly on super soft bread has been one of my most craved items. I want it for every meal.
I guess we will have whatever I can force myself to think about making and eating, or get my husband to make. Tonight I actually managed to make a stir fry of Chinese eggplant and tofu, plus pan fry some frozen dumplings. I'm already grossed out that I made/ate that. Usually I feel best right around dinner time which is convenient. So our tentative plan:
last night we had leftover Ethiopian lentils (light on spice) and injera (injera is so easy for me to eat right now) tonight we had eggplant & tofu stir fry with rice and dumplings Wednesday: roasted cauliflower and garlic soup with grilled cheese Thursday: frozen veggie burgers, potatoes and kale chips Friday: maybe pasta or something idk
I can't think of anything else we have on hand to make so either leftovers or take-out for the other two days.
@cagncoo12 You mean DH right 😂? I don’t have a daughter lol.
Ugh my sister’s hubby hates peppers. Mine wasn’t a fan at one point but I pressed on with those 😂. Taco night needs peppers sometimes. I would eat onions and mushrooms on everything if he could bare to let mushrooms enter the arena.

Ugh, I keep meal planning and then none of it sounds good. Tonight it’s DoorDash because making tacos wasn’t happening. So I guess tacos tomorrow, then I need to order groceries. It’ll probably be something like pasta, salmon, something with chicken, and if the smoke ever clears up something grilled.
Peanut butter is always first. I’m also picky about the ratios. I don’t like too much peanut butter or too much jam. Just a little flavor to go with my bread.
My personal meal plan is basically sherbet, soup, cheerios, pepperoni, rice, and pasta sometimes. I want tacos, or at least the Taco Bell commercial made me want tacos. I’m clearly delusional because for a hot minute I wanted actual Taco Bell which I haven’t wanted or eaten in probably 15 years. 😂
My kids and DH are eating whatever DH makes for them. He’s a good cook and actually makes a lot of our meals even when I’m not pregnant!
ETA forgot the GTKY! Definitely PB first. I can’t think about eating that right now though 🥴
Nausea and potty training my toddler finally got the best of me - first time not meal planning in like a year. Vegetable soup for lunch, and McDonald’s for dinner.
@rexnie it’s all about giving yourself grace, girl!! Those sound perfectly acceptable!
Its sounding like PB first is the general consensus 😆 @kvh22 PB on both sides of bread...hmmmm interesting! I may need to try that! Oh and grilled cheese for every meal totally works. Aaaand now I want a grilled cheese!
@kelseyhh Good job on the persistence! Haha I had to work on tofu with my husband for a looong time too. For the first like 5 years of our marriage he thought if there wasn’t meat in the meal then it didn’t count as a meal (Texans, man!). He’s since come around and now we do a lot of vegetarian meals! Mushrooms are a fav of mine! @cagncoo12 I love peppers & onions too! Totally a base for a lot of meals.
@theblondebump That’s interesting and good to know!! I’ve always hated the idea of overly cooked steak - don’t ruin it!! Haha in the past I’ve usually just stuck to steak from good places but still had it medium rare 😬 I’m a bit of a rebel.
@kvh22 my mom used to put peanut butter on both sides of the bread when she packed my school lunches! Because otherwise the jelly would make the bread soggy and then I wouldn’t eat it. Soggy bread has forever been my kryptonite. 😂
It's only 10am here but I think I need to make a grilled cheese. I can't think of eating anything else. I had cinnamon toast and some drinkable yogurt (kefir) this morning.
@kvh22 another one over here on the grilled cheese train! I've had 4 grilled cheese sandwiches in the last 5 days. Also digging the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too.
I'm just eating whatever I can stomach that is as healthy as I can stand. I had a salmon burger with air fried sweet potato fries and broccoli yesterday. Today will probably be air fried chicken tenders or grilled cheese.
GYKY: I'm definitely PB first, and more PB than strawberry preserves (no jelly).
@bblair24 I worked at a Taco Bell in high school lol! I love it aha. Now our closest Taco Bell is about an hour and a half away 😭. I moved back to where I went to HS, it just closed here aha. Canadian Taco Bell doesn’t hold a candle to American though. I seriously love it lol.
@goldpolkadot We aren’t in Texas, but that’s kind of the vibe where I live aha! We have lots of hunters & farmers in our general area 😂. My hubby is an oddity, as he honestly doesn’t care for meats besides pepperoni, lunch meat, McDonalds & chicken strips (all the kid faves of course 😂). He isn’t vegetarian like me, but he almost always eats what I bring to family gatherings instead of meat.

@kelseyyh My husband isn't vegetarian either but he basically eats that way at home. Occasionally he'll buy bacon or burgers to make for himself (we happen to have both in the house right now and the smell when he makes them is soooo gross for me). We nearly always have vegetarian dinners though and he's fine with that. However when he is out of the house all bets are off. He eats meat if it's available.
@kadeephd Hubby doesn’t cook & we stopped buying chicken strips and lunch meat a few year back, so I’m lucky to not really have to smell anything! We do vegetarian versions of those here. I’m glad that your hubby cooks though 😍, even if it is meat lol.

It's my bday Friday so I'm planning allllll the take out I'm going to get! Until then its only leftovers of Labor Day items (ribs, potato salad, grilled veggies, hot dogs) and tacos. Nothing sounds good to me so.. here we are.
Also, so funny about the grilled cheese! I was crushing those daily a few weeks ago- it was all that sounded good!
@kelseyyh too funny! Also, I looooved Taco Bell as a kid - my mom never let us get it but when I stayed at a friends house they knew how much I liked it so they’d always take me. Now I don’t think I can stomach it!! It’s been years since I’ve had it!!
@kadeephd I’m intrigued. Apple inside? Warm? Hmmmmm interesting! Reminds me of a sandwich Whole Foods used to make...brie & turkey with fig jam - it was SO good!
@goldpolkadot I was wondering the same thing about the apple inside (@kadeephd). A place I loved in college made a sandwich with turkey, mozzarella, mustard, and apple slices and when I was a poor new grad living in San Francisco paying way too much in rent I would use the free bread, apples, cheese and mustard from our office kitchen and bring my own lunch meat to make that sandwich
@kvh22 my roommates and I were obsessed with this little restaurant in college - we’d walk there and get that same exact sandwich on lots of weekends! Sooo good.
I'm DEFINITELY having grilled cheese tonight for dinner.
Also, I just had the weirdest craving for egg salad. I usually am not a huge egg salad fan, I'll eat it occasionally but it's not a favorite. Of course there was no egg salad in the cafeteria at work, but I made my own with hard boiled eggs and condiment packets. It tasted so good...at 945 am. Pregnancy is weird.
@bbrahmbhatt yes, grilled cheese is life right now. And I hate egg salad b/c I don't like hard boiled eggs (or over hard - scrambled is essentially the only way I can eat a "cooked" yolk - or quiche/frittata/omelet). But eggs for breakfast totally makes sense!
Yesterday I was craving a donut haha so went through Dunkin drive thru and ordered one donut, they gave me like 8 donuts because they were getting rid of them hahah pregnant me was like ohhhhh dear I need to not eat all of these.
@goldpolkadot@kvh22 I've been doing toasted, buttered bread with cheese under the broiler to melt the cheese, then I add slices of apple on top. I've done it with the apple in the middle too so it gets warm, but it takes longer to cook that way and I'm lazy right now.
