Rant/Rave? It was a really rough start to the semester with residency week last week on top of my week 1 assignments but I'm glad I pushed through it. I feel a bit better after the weekend (but I did throw out my shoulder spinning poi on Saturday). Hopefully weeks 2 and 3 get a bit easier to manage.

Rant/Rave? We found full time daycare for my daughter and I feel so much better about the situation. They had us wear masks in her home and had us sanitize when we walked in. Her home is in perfect condition, she has NO violations of her record (which is REALLY hard to do), has amazing play areas for the kids, home makes almost every meal, and not from a box or frozen, and even has a curriculum. I’m so impressed and just so relieved I have care that I can trust and feel good about sending my daughter to. So much relief!

GTKY: What's your favorite candy? When I’m not dairy free, Butterfingers. Now that I’m dairy free, I live in twirlers and airheads. 🤣

@ashaislurking I’m sorry week 1 was so stressful. Hopefully the next few weeks aren’t as bad. ❤️

@chindimples05 I am so jealous of your daycare situation! We sent both of ours to a home daycare before they aged out (no curriculum, so we needed to switch to a center). We LOVED our home daycare though! Sounds like you found an awesome one!

Ages of other child(ren)? DS is 5.5yo and DD will be 4yo at the end of the month!

Any thoughts about this cycle? I don't really know what to expect since its our first cycle trying again.

Rant/Rave? Symptom spotting is the actual worst. One minute I am like "omg I must be KU, I am so nauseous, my boobs hurt, I am having crazy vivid dreams, and I am so tired!!" The next I feel totally fine. On the plus side, I am at work today, and it should be a quiet day. My schedule changes next week to only one day a week for a while to be able to help my son with remote learning, so this week I will be tying up all my loose ends.

GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Haribo Twin Snakes. Hands down my absolute favorite!

Rant/Rave? Rant: it snowed/ is snowing here. It's supposed to snow all day with a high of 30.

@ashaislurking sorry the well was so rough. Hope it gets better and the whole time isn't so difficult.

@chindimples04 that childcare sounds amazing! So glad you found such a great fit.

@daisy528 I know this is easier said than done, but try not to read into symptoms. Keep yourself busy/distracted until it's time to test.

@Kenneylynn3 I kept my first in his crib until he was over 3 I think. My second I moved from her mini crib to the regular size crib at about 15 months, then to a twin bed. I am team keep them in there as long as you can!

@chindimples04 That's so good that you found a daycare you like and can trust. It has been a life saver for us though this crazy year. She has a preschool curriculum as well and apparently DS who is 2 has been so into all the preschool lessons she was doing for the older kids that he is basically in the program now and we have to send her a payment for it

@daisy528 symptom spotting is the worst! Like why do PMS symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms have to be exactly the same! So not cool!
@Kenneylynn3 Sorry that you're benched. I missed why but I hope your body gets her isht together soon! DS (27 months) is still in his crib and I am team Crib4Lyfe! I do not want to deal with him getting out of his bed at night.

Rant/Rave? After a weekend away of terrible sleep for all of us DS went to bed without a fuss last night and slept in until 6:45 this morning. While we were at the IL's he had been throwing his blanket and pillow out of his crib and fighting sleep for an hour and then waking up early. I'm hopeful we can get back on track with sleep. Makes me chuckle a little though as we are TTC and would go back to the newborn stage and months of broken sleep. Your body definitely adjusts though. Like when DS was a newborn if I got two 3-4 hour stretches with only an hour of awake time I felt great and went to work the next day just fine, for months! Now we have two or three nights of him waking up or getting up early and I'm not even going into the office but I am just dead all day.

GTKY: What's your favorite candy? I have a major sweet tooth so it's hard to pick just one. I love anything caramel though like Milky Way just caramel ones or caramel M&M's or Carmello's.

@ashaislurking I'm sorry your residency week was so rough. I hope you feel you got something out of it. At least, you are on the other side of that mountain now!

@chindimples04 So glad you found a new daycare! It sounds like a great situation. We did home daycare with DS from 3 months until we moved at 14 months, and it was a great fit for him.

@daisy528 sorry SS is such a mind trip! I hope your day at work was quiet.

@Kenneylynn3 We switched from the crib to the toddler bed at 26 months because DS had out grown the pack and play and we were traveling for the holidays and needed him to sleep on a bed/air mattress. I wanted to see how we would do at home before we hit the road. He hadn't been trying to get out of the crib, so we would have left him in otherwise. That said, with a second I would skip the toddle bed and go straight to a twin with a bed rail. It was so much easier when he had a bad dream or a middle of the night wake up to be able to crawl into bed with him vs. sitting on the floor! I have already told DH if we are lucky enough to have a 2nd we are skipping the toddler bed and going with a low twin bed with a bed rail.

Any thoughts about this cycle? According to the Bump my due date would be DH's birthday. (yes I am that crazy person who checks. I like to plan ahead! I was checking to see what it might interfere with for work.)

Rant/Rave? I am hoping my OPKs are right an I had my LH and not they will go down. I don't want false surges messing with my head! I don't know if the OPKs are helping me not obsess or making me obsess. I think once I get through this first cycle with them, they will not stress me out as much.

GTKY: What's your favorite candy? I like a Take 5 bar if you are taking standard candy or Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels!

@DoubleUp8 my would be due date is three days after my sister's birthday, the day of my mother's birthday, and four days before my birthday! Haha I am also a crazy person that looks this up!

WTO/TWW? Right on the line...probably ovulating today or tomorrow since I triggered yesterday.

Ages of other child(ren)? 11 (stepson) and 22 months (biological son)

Any thoughts about this cycle? I had a mid-cycle ultrasound yesterday which was cycle day 13. I had a 17.5mm follicle on the left and a 29mm - yes, 29 - on the right. I was thinking that is way too huge but the nurse surprisingly said it wasn't. She said that both of these follicles should ovulate this cycle so currently in HIO mode. Did the last 2 nights and will again tonight.

Any questions? Has anyone ever had a follicle this big and had it be a healthy egg? Or was it a cyst? Surprised the nurse did not think it was.

Rant/Rave? Not really much - things are pretty stable right now! I am actually loving that we have gotten some cooler weather in my city the past couple of days. I love the changes of the seasons.

GTKY: What's your favorite candy? So hard to pick just one but I think it would be Twix. I LOVE caramel.

@ashaislurking I do love Hot Tamales! Cinnamon notoriously gives me headaches which is really annoying because it's SO GOOD!

@chindimples04 Having great daycare is such a relief. I can't say that I feel the same about my son's. It is not in-home and he keeps getting bitten. Sometimes it goes a couple weeks without happening, sometimes it's 3 times in one week. And they just say they are dealing with the other child.

@daisy528 Welcome to trying again! I constantly over-analyze everything in the TWW so I feel you there.

@krash_ I could not agree more about the sleep! DS is almost 2 and he sleeps well most nights. But if there's a night were he fusses even just a couple of times I wake up thinking I got the worst night of sleep ever!

@DoubleUp8 I do the same thing with due date! Maybe not the date, but I do look at the month. Mainly for 2 reasons: 1) What will that mean for work? 2) How much majorly pregnant time is going to be in summer heat?

@babyfeverbeliever Yes, it was mostly to figure out what work would have going on at that time. I love my boss, but she is single and does not have children. It makes it tricky when dealing with kid and family related stuff. She tries to be understanding, but sometime I think being a full-time working mom is just one of those things you don't fully understand until you live it. So each cycle I check to see when I would be out so I can mentally start planning for how I would cover for my work, when I'm out. She does best when you can present news like that with a solution.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Optimistic right now - feels like I may be O-ing a few days earlier than usual, but we’ll see.

Any questions? Has anyone started thinking about Halloween yet? Kind of want to organize a socially distanced thing for my neighborhood, but kind of don’t want to take that on...

Rant/Rave? The air smells like an ashtray and air quality is hanging in the unhealthy range. Yesterday was day 1 of nanny share - I think everyone cried at some point. Today was the first day of virtual school and it was a long, long day of meetings. Things can only go up from here, right?

@chindimples04 the daycare sounds amazing! I agree it is invaluable to have a place to send your kid that you 100% trust. So happy for you!

@daisy528 I hope your stay here is short! Did you have any trouble conceiving your first 2?

@Kenneylynn3 We switched out of the crib to a full size bed last month (so like 2 years 8 months old). But we took the front off the crib/added the toddler rail in April. We never had an issue with her getting out of bed, but we sit in her room with her until she falls asleep so that may be why. I’m loving her being in a full size bed now because when she wakes up in the night I just get in with her and then leave when I wake up again. Versus her bringing her to our bed and her sleeping horizontally haha.

@krash_ I totally agree with you on the sleep thing! When DD was a baby and she would cry I would jump out of bed and now I don’t even hear her half the time (even though we have a monitor and it’s right next to my head). I hope you guys are back on track sleep wise.

@DoubleUp8 my due date this cycle would be the day before my birthday and I totally think it’s a sign, especially because DD and DH’s birthdays are 3 days a part. Also even after 20+ cycles the first thing I do when I get AF is look up my new due date and think about what I would want to do for maternity leave. So I’m crazy right there with you! Haha. And, I agree with you that OPKs will make you less crazy after you make it through a cycle with them (but hopefully you’ll never know and this will be your only cycle with them!)

@babyfeverbeliever I know nothing about follicle sizes but that’s definitely the largest number I’ve seen on here. Maybe you just caught it at the perfect time right before it released?

Any questions? Are you guys struggling to find things to talk about in the dailies? I have never had that problem until covid but now that we don’t do anything, my life is pretty much work or DD related. So I know it’s annoying that I keep talking about work but there’s just so little else going on ugh.

Rant/Rave/Brag: DD started in the preschool room at daycare! And I did buy a chalkboard sign like I mentioned last time I posted hahaha. I don’t think my MIL realizes how common they are and she was beyond thrilled with the pictures, so that was nice. I can’t believe how big DD is getting and it’s something I’m struggling with SO much from how much I’ve been working lately. I took a pay cut when she was born to take a step back and I feel cheated. There really weren’t a lot of good options to prevent this influx of work (and I don’t expect the firm to turn down revenue) but no one really believed me in the beginning that I thought we should do a little more to prepare so that’s frustrating. I’m not going to make a big deal out of it right now, but I’m going to be taking a LOT of time off once the deadline is over. And if/when I have another baby, I won’t hesitate to bring this up when we’re talking maternity leave time. I guess even though I’m missing out on “fun” time with DD, I definitely didn’t miss out on overall time with her since for 2 solid months it was just me & her every day so just trying to remember that.

GTKY: M&Ms! I also didn’t get to post last week but am I the only one who has never had a caramel apple? Am I missing out on something major there?

@bows22 thank you! I am very thankful that I didn't have much trouble conceiving my first two. While I am hoping it is the same this time around, I am very realistic and know that it can change! I am happy to be back on the boards though. With my first two, having a community of women who were going through the same things as me when TTC and when KU was so wonderful!
