I’m literally terrible at peeing in a cup. This was not a deficiency I knew about in my life until TTC.

I have a confession that I probably shouldn’t even admit to, it’s probably the nuttiest thing I’ve done in this crazy TTC adventure: We are prepping for egg retrieval & I want to be sure MH has enough healthy sperm to fertilize my precious eggies going into the big day. So I told him about a member here saying the best way to improve sperm count/quality in preparation was to relieve himself every 2-3 days (was that your advice @acleverusername?). Anyway, he put it on his calendar 🤣🤣🤣 and joked that he was gonna light a candle & play romantic music to make it happen. Ha! Later, he proudly showed me his sample before he went to bed the other night. I stayed up working, then my crazy a** got curious about how much he produced. (No, nothing is sacred anymore!) So I used one of my large needles to draw it up and measure in the syringe. It was an ‘average’ sample size according to Dr. Google.🤷‍♀️ I am actually eager to see what the next sample shows.

Yes, I have officially gone TTC-bats**t crazy.🤪

@inthewoods23 Thanks!😄 The average for a male sperm sample is between 2-5 ml per ejaculation.

@bows22 Oh! Great question, I forgot that weird detail.😄 He has had to give his sample at the dr for IUIs in the past and has managed to spill the sample cup a couple of times. I do NOT want to risk that happening on the big day when it really counts, so I asked him to ‘practice’ at home. I’m straight up militant around here!

@keikilove bahahahahahaha! God that made me laugh hard. Well, I don’t think it was me who suggested the “regular relief” but I definitely probably said something like ... you can’t relieve yourself too soon before or too long before the big event.

Relatedly, MH and I were discussing yesterday when the “moratorium on activities” starts, trying to remember what they said during the IUI Orientation... anyway the suggested reprieve is 2-5 days, which is weird because they also say it’s OK to DTD the day of trigger which makes it more or less just shy of 2 days depends on time of day you BD.
