Trying to Get Pregnant

R/R: I can’t believe it’s September! Holy cow. I have so much work to do in the next 6 weeks ugh. I didn’t get a chance to check in yesterday, but we had a nice weekend. I went into the office on Saturday but then we had our fantasy football draft on Sunday. We usually do it in person but didn’t because of covid and it was pretty nice to be able to drink at home and go right to bed after! It definitely helped me get through my AF wallowing. Now just ready to try again this month!

WAYDTGKU: OPKs and BBT, waiting on genetic test results before officially trying

R/R: It is only Tuesday morning and I am already ready for it to be Friday. I have a half day on Friday then a long weekend! Also excited that it is September because the “ber” months are always my favorite. I think I’m going to decorate for fall this week!

CS/Q: chart is boring and flat

@bows22 Looks like we are both CD buddies and early morning buddies this month. Best of luck in fantasy football!

  • @bows22 I did fantasy football once at work. Hated it 😆. I did better with the pick the winners each week.

@fitzfizz ugh same. Wish it were the weekend too.

    Month/Cycle: 40 months....

    WAYDTGKU: MMR vaccine 😔

R/R: I'm back to wallowing feeling like we're never going to get pregnant. I know it's important to get myself immune, but it's just one thing after another knocking me down. And work is just.... I don't feel like dealing with it either.

    CS/Q: might add later

@bows22 I hope you had a good draft. My draft last year was terrible. Hoping for better this year.

@fitzfizz I agree in the "ber" months!

@inthewoods23 I'm sorry about the MMR vaccine delay. It stinks they only caught this now. That said, there have been enough measles outbreaks in the past few years that you want to be protected.

R/R: Signed up for my first virtual 5k. It is going to be a slow one because I have not kept up with my exercise. I go spoiled with WFH and being able to work out on my lunch at the start of the pandemic. Now work is much busier as things have adapted to the new world and I am in the office several days a week. Hoping this will motivate me a bit to get back at it.

CS/Q: temps has been all over with the cooler temperature and open windows at night. I don't care because it has been great for sleeping/

  • @fitzfizz I love the “ber” months too but I hate what comes after!

@inthewoods23 oh my gosh I’m so sorry you weren’t immune. couldn’t the universe give you a break? Ugh

@DoubleUp8 honestly I am so out of touch with what is going on with football I don’t even know if my draft was good! We’ll see I guess. I hope the virtual 5K prep gets you back into the groove of exercising. I really need to do that too
  • @DoubleUp8 exactly. Sure I've been fine for the last 30 years, but when there's been outbreaks lately I'm gonna make sure I'm immune! GL with your virtual 5k!

@bows22 I know right? And the thing is, my first clinic had done some test for rubella and I'm immune to that. From my reading yesterday, the MMR vaccine stats show 88% will get immune to rubella and 93% will get immune to measles from 1 dose, so I'm wondering if they just test for rubella since that has the lowest immunity rate from the vaccine. I'm going to ask the new clinic if I can get tested at the end of the month to see if 1 dose gave me immunity instead of having to do a 2nd dose. I think I can get the 2nd dose late in pregnancy if recommended? Would need to recheck that. What if I'm still not immune to it after 2 doses? Then what? Will they not treat me?

  • @bows22 sorry for the busy 6 weeks at work but hopefully it's a welcome distraction from so much that is going on.
@fitzfizz the "ber" months are the best! That is so clever, stealing it!
@inthewoods23 I'm sorry you're going through a wallowing period. I hope you find peace in knowing that you are doing everything you can to get KU. Hugs!  <3
@DoubleUp8 I hope you can at least get a lunch time walk in. I feel like with WFH we will all have a better perspective on the work day and hopefully will start to prioritize ourselves just a bit while working at the office.

R/R: IT'S SEPTEMBER! My birthday month, the start of fall and honestly I'm just elated at anything that makes 2020 feel like it's moving along. I went on a little Home Goods retail therapy shopping trip last week so I believe today is an appropriate time to put out the glitter pumpkins and cat pillows I bought.

I am also in a bit of a wallowing phase. I think a lot of it is due to social media though. Everyday it seems like there are more pregnancy announcements or pregnant people. It might be silly but being on SM feels like socializing and connecting with friends so I don't want to give it up but it's hard when you see all the 3rd or 4th kid pregnancy announcements. I also feel like my life is at a stand still while everyone else is progressing forward. I have individual therapy with our couples counselor this morning which should be interesting. I usually see my own individual therapist but our couples counselor wants to do an individual session that is couples centered.

  • @bows22 Glad you had a nice weekend!!

@fitzfizz Hope your week goes extra fast for your long weekend!

@inthewoods23 Ugh I'm sorry about needing the vaccine. I hate that it kills time for you :(

@DoubleUp8 Good work signing up for the 5K! I'm trying to get back into moving more regularly too!

@krash_ Happy Birthday Month!!!! I know what you mean by feeling like everyone is progressing forward while we're standing still..

R/R: Oh man, I have not been good about checking in. I try to come on here every weekday and then always get derailed by work  :s Thankfully the rest of today should be relatively calm though! MH had a very big very important exam that he took for the third time yesterday (after not passing last year or the year before) and it sounds like he probably didn't pass again, although we won't know for a couple of months. Just trying to be supportive and keep his confidence up, but sometimes it's hard because I think he could have studied harder. Otherwise just chugging along with work. I decided to take a few days off in November even though we can't go anywhere, so that's something to look forward to even though it's not for awhile!

Also, I think I might be ovulating soon. This would be crazy for me because I've never ovulated two cycles in a row since I've been keeping track this year, and also it would be a few days earlier than usual. I don't want to get my hopes up but it would be nice to move to TWW instead of sitting here forever :)

  • @fitzfizz SAME! Love me some "ber" months! Definitely the best time of the year.
@inthewoods23 I know how you feel about feeling like you'll never get pregnant *virtual hugs*
@DoubleUp8 Good luck with the 5K! I did my first (and only) last year. It was slow, but I was proud of myself for finishing! (Definitely haven't gone running since lol)
@krash_ Happy birthday month!!! I 100% know how you feel about feeling like everyone is progressing. I try to remind myself that people spend a lot of time making their lives look perfect on social media.

Month/Cycle: See my newbie intro post for the low down but I'm counting this as 1 again because I need to for my own mental health.

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: PNV. Will use OPKs when the time comes.

R/R: I am SO EXCITED to get back to TTGP and I'm trying to not go overboard like I did last time. Also, the fact that today is September 1 amazes and excites me. I'm going to get my nails done after work today and I will 100% be getting some kind of fall color.

CS/Q: Nothing today. I'm just glad to be back!

  • @inthewoods23 I looked it up to verify, but if you get the titer repeated 2-3 weeks after the first injection it is likely to be positive and then you won’t need another vaccine right away. If you time it right this month, you may be able to try this month. Did they give the first injection already? Also, the reason they usually only check a titer for rubella is that it can cause serious malformations if you get it while pregnant. It is not really a big deal to get measles while pregnant (obviously not ideal) so they usually don’t check that. There is no reason I am aware of why they would not treat you if you don’t seroconvert (titer turn positive) for measles. As an aside, if you do seroconvert after one dose, I would still recommend getting the second dose after a pregnancy, but there really are not any hard guidelines for this situation.

@doubleup8 Which virtual 5k? I decided I need to get back in running shape and I’m training to be able to do a 5k without stopping again.

@krash_ I am also a September baby and I am already decorating for fall. Fall is by far the best season. #basic

@priyadoc Is your husband also a doctor? I’m curious if you mean one of the steps or a board exam.

@maggie1202 Welcome! All the best things happen in fall
  • @krash_ happy birthday month! I feel the same. Everyone is going on enjoying life while I feel stuck.

@priyadoc crossing fingers O is soon for you! Is that exam a professional certification kind of thing? I know those can be super tough!

@Maggie1202 I'm not ready for fall 😆 not that I want it to stay 90 degrees. The year has flown by which is so weird to say in a pandemic!

@fitzfizz thank you for the info! I'm hoping to get in tomorrow or Thursday for the vaccine. Had to fill in some paperwork so the RE's clinic could send my PCP's clinic the proof that I'm not immune so they can "order" the vaccine. It would be cutting it super close I would say to be able to try this month. I definitely plan on asking if I can get tested in a few weeks to see if 1 dose was enough so I can do an IUI or something in October.

  • @inthewoods23 Thank you! @fitzfizz Yes, it was a board exam :( He's super smart and is great with patients but standardized tests have always been really difficult for him.
  • @inthewoods23 RIGHT! As much as I am ready for fall, I CAN NOT believe how fast this year is going, all things considered. Also, I live in the PNW, so we basically had one weekend of summer. It has barely hit over 85* all summer long. (NO complaints from me!)
