How to post a poll

So...how does one post a poll? I can't figure this out! I searched through the forum and can find plenty of polls, but no instructions on how to create one myself. I found one post from 11(!) years ago, but it is describing buttons/functions that I do not have on my screen. Help please!

    At the top of a forum will be the "New discussion" button. If you click all the way on the right were there is a down arrow if will give you a few options, one of which is "new poll"
