Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/29 23 weeks tomorrow

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Pink
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Tomorrow she'll be as big as a furby haha.
Upcoming appointments: Ultrasound on 9/21 and an OB appointment with a glucose test on 9/27.
How are you feeling: I think I need some kind of belly band/more support. When I stand up from most sitting/laying positions I feel like my stomach needs way more support. If anyone has any good suggestions for someone plus size - I'm all ears!
Rants/Raves: Rave - We had a really good day yesterday, the weather was gorgeous (75 and sunny) so we took DS to the park and had a breakfast picnic and let him play for a long time before it started to get crowded. Also - our babysitter reached out to ask if we'd like to get out at all. She graduated college after student teaching this spring and now has her own classroom. So she's going to come over in a few weeks for a few hours on a Saturday so that we can do something. It'll be nice to get out of the house, even though I don't know what we'll do. Maybe another picnic in a park. Rant - I had an 8am conference call this morning...
Questions: Nope
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? I'm just looking forward to her being here in general. I'm excited for snuggles and DS meeting her.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/8, 26 w tomorrow!

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Green and getting so curious!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Walkman
Upcoming appointments: today! Glucose test and OB appt in a few hours
How are you feeling: Ok. Good news is baby is a little kicking machine so it’s nice to have that constant reassurance. Bad news is I have another years infection again after finally being all better 😩. Also dealing with heartburn but I’m at least getting better at managing that.
Rants/Raves:
I’m having a hard mental time. I was up all night Saturday just spiraling with anxiety over this country and bringing a baby into it. Hate groups keep coming to my city to stir up trouble and while my family is totally fine, as is most of the city, it’s so hard to have this battle feeling at our front door. I don’t know how this country will get better when those in power keep stoking fear and division. My SO and I started talking about really potentially moving to Aus (where he’s from and his family is) to get away from it but the thought of going to the other side of the world and leaving my family and friends behind was so upsetting.
Questions: Nope!
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? I just can’t wait to see who they are as a person - what traits they have from me and what from my SO. It will also be so cool to see how they’re similar to their half siblings and how they’re different!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: weighs as much as a basketball
Upcoming appointments: regular OB on Wed and specialist next Thursday
How are you feeling: Okay. Having more mental health struggles rather than physical struggles. But showered and met with my therapist today, so working on the things to make it better.
Rants/Raves: DH and I took the dog to the local downtown area this weekend. It was nice to get out of the house and safely do something we loved doing last summer. They have bands playing and food places. We went early and walked around for an hour before picking up a pizza and going home. Just a reminder of what "normal" life used to be. We also spent an afternoon working on nursery stuff.
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? I am excited to meet him, but also excited to grow in confidence as a family of 3. Both DH and I have little experience with newborns, so a bundle of nerves for both of us now. DH is going to be such a great dad and I can't wait to see him succeed at it. (I am aware that it will be a learning process and not sunshine and butterflies at the beginning).
@karmba Sounds like a great way to spend a beautiful day.
@conni0205. Sharing baby kicks will be fun. We are still waiting for DH to feel them over here.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a papaya
Upcoming appointments: MFM for a follow up fetal echocardiogram on Thursday
How are you feeling: Optimistic? My white blood cell count looked better and the PiCC line should help with some of the other complications
Rants/Raves: picc line insertion went well. We didn’t end up needing an X-ray, which was on the table. A chest x ray at 23 weeks pregnant definitely made me uncomfortable so I’m happy about that! Also my son had been having some serious behavior issues and he was diagnosed with PANDAS - he just finished his antibiotics and it is like a different child. He’s still having normal behavior challenges but he’s so so much better.🤯 I needed that win!
Questions:
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby?
Not being pregnant anymore? 😂 okay but really - BOWS! I get to dress her up in pink and bows and yay!!!
@karmba I have the glucose test coming up too - blech. My doctor just ordered the one and three at the same time so I don’t have to do it twice.
@conni0205 I loved nursing too! Hoping to do it longer, we only made it six months.
Upcoming appointments: Going to do my GD screening tomorrow, then next Tuesday for my first 3rd Tri checkup!
How are you feeling: Exhausted
Rants/Raves: Rant:Taking my dog to the vet this morning. He's been having tremors all weekend and kept us up all night last night with tremors and pacing...hoping it's maybe not related to his epilepsy and maybe something else? I don't know, but we don't have much to give (financially or mentally) Rave: had a pretty good weekend otherwise. Got to see H's parent's who we haven't seen since DD started back at daycare at the beginning of August. Went on a nice long walk yesterday and definitely paid for it afterwards though. ouch hips!
Questions:
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? Trying to enjoy the newborn phase more as it's our second. I had so much anxiety with our first and kept wishing time to pass faster so I could get to the next stage. With this being our last, I'm hopeful and looking forward to enjoying the baby snugs more and just being in the moment. Plus my H will have 2 months off with us as well, which I think will make things easier.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: ear of corn
Upcoming appointments: sept 23 then moving to every 2 weeks 😳
How are you feeling: chronically fatigued. Extremely depressed. I’m having a talk with my doctor soon because this isn’t normal for me during pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: my husband has noticed how down I’ve been. I spend 80% of my day crying for no reason. He offered to take my kids to the lake and cabin for the weekend and plan a spa day for me on Saturday. 😭
Questions:
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby?
@the_road_to_oz we only made it 6 months too but I’m hopeful for longer this time! I’ll only be away from him 1-2 days instead of 3 days so that should help me (way less pumping)
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cantaloupe 🍈, tomorrow a head of cauliflower! 🥦
Upcoming appointments: 9/24 for 3-hour glucose & check up
How are you feeling: pretty good. Feeling more tired lately, and like taking naps mid-afternoon the past few days. Also feeling very full in my abdomen - not feeling like there’s enough space in there anymore and dreading that there’s 3.5 more months of this. I am definitely noticing I’m grumpier and more intolerant lately - just every thing that goes awry is very irritating to me. I’m trying to not be reactive and outwardly grumpy but I definitely feel it internally. @laurenspdx I also have another YI, 3rd one. So annoying!
Rants/Raves:
Raves! baby stuff is starting to arrive and I love unpacking it and getting to start putting things away! We are also going on a baby moon this weekend - we know we’re taking a risk, but got a good deal and are staying at a hotel on the club level which we think will be less populous. It’s our last chance for a weekend away just us 2 before the baby’s here though!
Rant - at our 1st appointment in May my OB charged us what was left of our out of pocket max, which they told me is what I owed for OB services through delivery and if I didn’t pay that day I couldn’t be a patient. So I paid with my FSA. Turns out they shouldn’t have charged us anything at all because my out of pocket was met by other things, and now they have to write me a check and I have to refund my FSA. I figured this out not them - they wouldn’t have figured it out until sometime in 2021. It’s not that big of a deal since its getting sorted, but it’s annoying and also now I’ve got tons of money in my FSA to spend and now I’m just gonna buy a bunch of crap like sunscreen and first aid supplies. I know I’ve still got 4 months left but I would have also paid our dental visits & Natera bills with it if I’d known about this sooner. And now I’ll have to submit those receipts to get refunded which is just annoying. It’s just caused a huge pile of paperwork to deal with. I wish OB offices would charge you as you go rather than forcing you to pay for everything ahead of time.
Questions: considering ordering extra pump supplies with my FSA but not sure what to get - do you guys wait to see what size flange works best or just order an array. I’m really just not sure what I’ll need extras of.
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby?
Honestly the adding of someone new to our family and household and having something to do all of the time, lol. I know I’ll probably think differently once I’m overwhelmed by all of the tasks of parenthood, but life has been really boring for us lately since so much of our normal lifestyle and hobbies (travel, eating out, concerts, shows etc) have been stripped away. I just can’t wait to have a little person to devote time and attention to!
@shelmcclel - can you order postpartum supplies with your FSA money? I had a huge pack of instant ice packs and maternity pads ready to go. The ice packs especially can get pricey, so even though the hospital will probably send you home with some, might be worth looking into.
Would anyone be interested in a postpartum supplies thread, or better to keep it in BTDT as people have specific questions?
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: cantaloupe/puffin/Philly cheesesteak
Upcoming appointments: routine OB appt 9/25, glucose tolerance test 9/29
How are you feeling: Tired...DD dropped to one nap this weekend in preparation for moving to the toddler room today, and it was tough on all of us. Feeling emotionally spent as well - more easily irritable, depressed about the state of the US, everything feels like it takes more effort than usual. My thoughts are with those of you going through physical and emotional difficulties right now - big hugs, mamas!
Rants/Raves: Rant - trying to schedule my glucose screening was ridiculously complicated. The lab that my OB uses has drastically reduced appointments to maintain proper COVID distancing (reasonable and a smart move), which makes getting an appointment very difficult. Early AM appointments are booked out already for months! Luckily I have a random Tuesday off so I can swing a mid-morning appointment, or else I'm not sure what I would've done. Rant/Rave - DD moved up to the toddler room at daycare this morning, and she cried a lot because she was upset to be with new people. I felt horrible all morning, but then got a sweet text and photos from her infant room teacher, who spent her lunch break cuddling with DD. I'm so thankful! Rave - I found a Snoo on FB marketplace for really cheap, and DH drove 90min each way this weekend to go pick it up. Feeling really optimistic for our sleep situation!
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? Lots and lots of snuggles, soaking up the newborn smell, introducing DD to her sister. @bearmomma1 I’m also hoping to be less anxious and more present this time around ☺️
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a puffin
Upcoming appointments: tomorrow with my OB
How are you feeling: okay, tired but enjoying those kicks!
Rants/Raves: I have been questioning myself if we made the right decision to send our kids back to school this month. I have been struggling with it and feeling a little down on myself all month. We decided that as a kindergartner and first grader, in person was essential for their successful learning, especially since last year my son didn’t do so well with at home learning. It is such a tough choice, but our kids go to a private catholic school in an outer suburb, and they seem to be taking their precautions very seriously. There is obviously still risk, but they all wear masks and distance as much as possible and wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently. Well, we are now one week in, and I feel so good about our choice! Our kids are so happy and already getting into the swing of things. Even though it might not last all year, I am just really grateful that they get the chance to have a strong foundation for the year.
Questions: None
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? Definitely those baby snuggles, tiny fingers and first smiles! I agree with @bearmomma1 that since this is our last baby, I will be focusing on being present and soaking in each stage as it comes!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: he’s as tall as a chopstick
Upcoming appointments: 28 week check and GD screen
How are you feeling: I’m doing OK. I started getting more regular swelling and an doing my best to control it. Also, I’m having a leaky bladder 😖 I need to work on Kegels!
Rants/Raves: DD is showing major interest in potty training!
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? I can’t wait for the snuggles and love and new baby smell!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cantaloupe
Upcoming appointments: 9/8 Growth Scan & Check-Up
How are you feeling: Decent! HB is expected after anything I eat but I can keep it decent with natural peppermint and half a tum at a time
Rants/Raves: Nothing really, I think with this being #2 overall everything is less stressful.
Questions: Nothing.
GTKY: what are you looking forward to most with your baby? Seeing DS with him! He's why we went for #2. Also being able to enjoy this more, there's so much we already know and knowing this is the last one we'll be stopping to "smell the roses" more often. We also have MUCH longer leaves. With DS I only had six weeks (using my saved sick days) and DH just used 2 weeks of his vacation. This time I'll get 14 weeks (six paid by my union, the rest saved sick days) and DH will get 12 weeks through NYS parental leave. Yay!
