    • How far along/EDD? 11w2d, 3/6/2021
    • How are you feeling this week? Great! Back to working out this week at my local CF gym. Doctor cleared me but of course advised to modify, go slow and listen to my body. Feels good to workout!
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Raves - we’ve had a fun weekend celebrating my birthday and announcing our news to our family and close friends. It feels good to celebrate with others! Still cannot believe we have made it this far!
    • Any upcoming appointments? Wednesday I have NIPT blood test and an ultrasound. Final ultrasound until our anatomy scan in October. Eek!
    • GTKY: What's the one movie you've seen so many times you can't remember how many times you've seen it? If movies isn't your thing, what song makes you want to get up and dance every time you hear it? Elf! Love love love that movie during the holidays!
I hope you all are doing well and feeling well!
    • How far along/EDD? 7+3
    • How are you feeling this week? Still pretty nauseous and unfortunately starting to lose my appetite. It's okay though - happy to have symptoms!
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Nada
    • Any upcoming appointments? Ultrasound tomorrow morning. I am so anxious!
    • GTKY: What's the one movie you've seen so many times you can't remember how many times you've seen it? If movies isn't your thing, what song makes you want to get up and dance every time you hear it? For movies, it'd have to be Home Alone or Christmas Vacation. They are staples in our house every holiday season. You kidding me Clark?

Hi Ladies, I'm still here and still pregnant. I admit I am lame and can't figure out how to post on desktop??  Must be my old age...  I skimmed last week's thread to try to catch up a little - exciting to see new names here :)

@JWatt5 I just saw (what I think is your latest update over on FB), I'm sorry for the limbo but have my fingers crossed for you, and am glad that it sounds like you still have that October funding lined up if you need it.

@31magnolia  I was induced at 39 weeks with DD - they gave me 3 doses of cytotec (misoprostol), but I never needed pitocin.  I did have an epidural which worked swimmingly at first...till it FELL OUT (they had me shifting & changing positions a lot).  Not to scare you, as pushing for 3 hours effectively without an epidural was NOT my plan, but just a note to say something if you feel something isn't right (I had no frame of reference, just thought the pain was getting that more intense?  But in retrospect, there were signs).  No wonder why they said it didn't seem to be affecting what I was feeling.  In the end, DD was pretty well wedged in there - they gave me the choice to keep going, but we'd been there like 34 hours and I was over it.  Who knows if DD would have been better positioned given another week, but despite my trauma/annoyance DD was never stressed through the whole thing and we were both healthy, which is what mattered most.

    AFM...
    • How far along/EDD?  37w, 5d - EDD 9/2 but scheduled repeat c-section next Thursday AM, 8/27 (at 39w1d)
    • How are you feeling this week?  So tired. I've been on leave since the end of July (I feel pretty lucky that we in CA can take the 4 weeks before delivery off) and started to get uncomfortable right around then.  I never really got uncomfortable with DD, but she was always around 20th percentile and this dude's measured about a week ahead since he was measurable (around 80th percentile, though these measurements are notoriously inaccurate).  I also didn't have third tri insomnia with DD and do this time, and it's NOT fun.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions?  Random ramblings:  I still feel like I have a bit to do, but am on track prep-wise for the most part (although not so much with freezer meals).  I am a little anxious about whether DH will be able to go back and forth from the hospital with all this COVID business (MIL is going to come help out with DD, but DD doesn't really know her since she lives far away). Worst case, hopefully the nursery will be open and DH can bond with baby boy later if he can't go back and forth/needs to take care of DD :p. And also, we STILL don't have a name!  We decided on DD's first name 11 days before she was born and we're inside of that now...  QUESTION:  Are second+ time mamas doing a present "from" the new baby?  DD is 20 months old and while I think she sort of gets the idea of baby, she may not quite "get" the competition for our attention bit.  I think I'm overly anxious about how the adjustment will go :(
    • Any upcoming appointments?  Weekly blood draw (monitoring for preeclampsia because of chronic hypertension - which is apparently not bad enough that I'm in any drugs for it this time) and tele-health check in with OB on Wednesday.  Really grateful not to be going to the hospital 3x/week for NSTs right now.
    • GTKY: What's the one movie you've seen so many times you can't remember how many times you've seen it? If movies isn't your thing, what song makes you want to get up and dance every time you hear it?  Possibly The Princess Bride, or the Back to the Future movies (told you I'm old!).  I love Princess Bride (DH and I can't wait till DD is old enough to appreciate it), but it seemed like whenever the Back to the Future movies were on old school TV, I'd watch.
Random nursery pic so I can feel like I accomplished something last week:
Got the wall stickers mostly up - but we still need a name so I can order the name decal (which will go over the crib)!! This week's project is to do my own laundry and clean up our room where baby will actually be sleeping for the next several months...hope he cooperates and stays put!

Hope you all have great weeks!

  • @artemis618 love the nursery!! Just over a week till your little guy is here! DD measured small (and came early) and this little one is measuring around the 60th percentile so will likely be feeling like you towards the end with a bigger baby! We’re planning on doing a gift “from” the new baby, DD will be around 2.5 and she seems to get the baby concept but I think will have a hard time not being the focus. We will also prob have her “help” as much as possible so she feels included in everything....be it grabbing diapers or burp clothes when nursing,
    • How far along/EDD? 27w3d / 11.13
    • How are you feeling this week? Pretty good! The weather is finally cooler so going on longer walks again, sleep has been decent the past few nights (and DD is sleeping all night again in her crib!! Whooo!)
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Passed my glucose test on Friday yay! Had a growth scan and baby isn’t showing any signs of restricted growth like with DD which is a relief. Measuring in the 60th percentile so no wonder I’m feeling much larger this time around! DD was below the 10th at this stage
    • Any upcoming appointments? Sept 14 for regular check up and growth scan. My Ob still wants to keep an eye on the baby just in case anything develops. I also got referred to my clinics perinatal services so they’ll call weekly just to check in and make sure I’m not having any signs of preterm labor
    • GTKY: What's the one movie you've seen so many times you can't remember how many times you've seen it? If movies isn't your thing, what song makes you want to get up and dance every time? Oh there’s so many - Christmas Vacation is the one that comes to mind right away, that gets watched at least once a holiday season   Also totally old school but The Cutting Edge (toe pick!)
  • @madasm0530 thinking of you and praying for your ultrasound tomorrow!!!
    • How far along/EDD? 36w6d/ Sept 8th, but may evict early.
    • How are you feeling this week? Soooo very tired. I just cannot get restful, comfortable sleep. Most days I can take a nap, but that didn't happen yesterday or today and now I'm grumpy and so exhausted!
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Rave - Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and stories this past week. The information has been so helpful! I feel like baby girl tries to turn in the middle of the night but by the morning she's back sideways again. I'll be attempting some of the exercises/techniques to get her to turn.
    • Any upcoming appointments? I have my OB appointment and Fetal monitoring (BPP) tomorrow. This will definitely give everyone an idea of what the next steps are. Doctor said I need to score 8/10 in order for her to let baby girl stay put.
    • GTKY: What's the one movie you've seen so many times you can't remember how many times you've seen it? If movies isn't your thing, what song makes you want to get up and dance every time you hear it? I have a few but I'm going to have to go with The Breakfast Club.I was a big Molly Ringwald fan but that one is my fave. Definitely showing my age. Lol.
@mtpbadger - I forgot about The Cutting Edge. My sis had that on repeat back in the day.

@artemis618 - I was wondering if you had your little one! Lol. Most ppl have problems with the desktop but I have a problem with the phone app. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look up cytotec. Princess Bride was also a fave of my sis's so we watched that when ever it came on. lol.

@Kimbrlyg814 -  I LOVED Elf. I bought the DVD years ago. I remember showing it to my grandma when she came down to visit one year for the holidays. She loved it too.

  • For some reason I can no longer edit my post. Wanted to add that I love the wall decal @artemis618. I'm doing birch trees. Just waiting for them to mailed to me. How difficult was it to put yours up?
    • How far along/EDD? Dec 31/ 20 w
    • How are you feeling this week? I was feeling a bit better but today was rough.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? DS has been struggling really badly emotionally including some OCD behaviors and extreme separation anxiety. I had taken him for blood work and we got a tentative diagnosis of possible PANDAS based on his bloodwork (strep positive, inflammation and high white blood cell count) really hoping antibiotics will help!!!
    • Any upcoming appointments? Nope!
    • GTKY: What's the one movie you've seen so many times you can't remember how many times you've seen it? If movies isn't your thing, what song makes you want to get up and dance every time you hear it? Sense and sensibility or pride and prejudice. I can seriously watch every version over and over.

I’ll be back later for tags on a real computer 😂

  • When did everyone’s nausea start dissipating? Dang I’m so tired of it! 🤢😔
  • @31magnolia  This one was a little more annoying than DD's was because there were quite a few bubbles even when on the paper to fix first, I had to use separate transfer paper, and it appeared not to have been cut with any overlap (so maybe not the best product for someone like me who's a little anal about lining things up well - fortunately for trees it didn't really matter *too* much).

DD's tree decal is birch (pictured below - DH pointed out that he couldn't actually think of anywhere with birch trees and elephants, but he humored me).  All those leaves were a little annoying, but it was a fun project when it was just the two of us :). And still WAY easier than painting (not that I'm at all talented in that department, but DH ambitiously wanted to paint DD's room).

  • @madasm0530
Just poking my head in here. While I didn't have an embryo split, we did a two embryo transfer and both stuck, but one stopped developing early on (around 8 weeks, looked only 7 weeks w/ no HB). Vanishing twins are -extremely- common with IVF and likely in normal pregnancies but the average pregnant lady isn't being monitored quite as much as us and so the early signs of a vanished/vanishing twin are missed. It took awhile for the elements of the twin pregnancy to be reabsorbed -- at 8 weeks, they saw fetal pole + yolk + gestational sac but no more HB; at 9-10 weeks, the gestational sac appeared to be empty, and by 16 weeks, there was no sign of a second pregnancy. You could potentially have spotting but the body just reabsorbs everything at this stage typically. This normally has absolutely no impact on the healthy baby -- mine is a napping two year old at the moment - but it's definitely something you'll want to mention to your OB once you graduate, esp. if they do a 10 or 12 week U/S where you might still see a sac or yolk. They  also sometimes recommend against doing some of the early blood screenings since it can still pick up traces of the vanished twin. I skipped the NIPT and the other blood screenings so I wouldn't get freaked out by wonky results due to the vanishing twin. We just relied on the anatomy screening at 20 weeks to make sure everything was OK. You may have to wait longer to find out the gender though since your OB may not want you to do the NIPT (which gives an early gender report).

As for the emotional side, it's really complicated. My daughter is two now and I still don't feel -bad- that I lost one of the babies; I was just so relieved she was healthy and doing great. I feel guilty for that in a way. And yet there are still moments when I think about what her twin would have been like, etc. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

  • @mbradfo2 thank you so, so much for taking the time to respond - such helpful information. I didn't even think about the blood levels in NIPT or other early blood tests; such a good point! I, unfortunately, went down a google rabbit hole trying to find information about the remaining twin in this situation. It's not helpful, nor productive but what I did find is that when it happens this early, the remaining twin is relatively unimpacted. like everything in this IF journey, nothing is easy or straightforward but we manage! thanks again  <3

  • @madasm0530 I'm so glad that your one baby is doing good! I think whatever you are feeling is just fine. TBH, I have no idea what I would do with twins. I'm not sure I would have the wherewithal to deal...it's a lot of work! If my embryo had split, I would really be terrified...esp as there are so many more complications with twins. Risk of miscarriage goes up, as does preterm birth, and health complications for the babies. Many twins come out just fine! But for me, I would probably spend the entire pregnancy worrying. But I'm a worrier anyway :) Anyway, much <3 so glad to hear that the one embryo is trucking along and doing good!
  • Had my 10 week ultrasound today (my birthday) and everything was good! I was so nervous b/c I thought for sure, if something is going to go wrong, it will happen on my birthday but whew! Everything was good!

  • @covergirl2985 congrats and welcome! Spotting can be common, I had spotting through about 14 weeks (brown, red, everything In between). It’s nerve wracking but as long as it’s not a ton of blood and there’s no serious cramping, usually it’s fine.

I didn’t tell my work till this week and I’ll be 28 weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️ If you’re new, you might want to do it a little sooner than that so you can figure out all your leave options. I’m guessing most ppl will tell after the first tri, unless your job requires heavy lifting, being around chemicals, etc...then I would tell them sooner.
  • @covergirl2985 I agree with @mtpbadger that spotting is fairly common. I had bright red spotting in my first trimester. It’s always scary, but not normally worrisome unless it’s a lot of blood or bad cramping. Good luck on your ultrasound next week! Very exciting!
  • Welcome @covergirl2985! I don't know much about spotting because I didn't have it, but I have several friends who are in varying stages of pregnancy right now and a lot of them have had spotting for various reasons. It sounds terrifying, but I agree, I think it's fairly common. (I mean, I don't have a ton of friends and for a lot of them to have that makes it pretty common, I think).

Anyway, I was thinking about this yesterday, everyone -- how cautious are you all being with COVID19? I'm pretty sure that fall is going to break a new outbreak of cases, and my boyfriend and I just haven't really come to a consensus on what we think. Do I continue grocery shopping in person? Get things delivered? Do I wear a mask at all times around my family? (they are pretty much the only people I see). Anyway, just wanted to see what everyone else is doing!
  • @lucyb1954 I was just talking to DH about covid stuff earlier. We’ll prob continue to do what we’ve been doing the past few months. Me staying mostly at home (going for daily walks outside and a weekly target outing during their special hours). DH does the grocery shopping early morning, we order anything else online but he does go into his office every other week. Our daughter will be starting daycare again next week which I’m hesitant about but I’m working from home and it’s getting into my busy season so not fair for her to be cooped up all day. My OB said the risk of her in daycare is fairly low with all the precautions the centers are taking. If I make it close to my due date, DH and our daughter will likely stay home for the two weeks prior just to be on the safe side.

I think just continuing to be smart about stuff is the best thing you can do...if your keeping your distance grocery shopping, wearing a mask, washing your hands when you get home, etc, there’s a pretty low risk.
  • <div>@lucyb1954 By the time DH was "over it" doing all the shopping for us, I tried a couple times, but I was just too pregnant by then, and it took too much out of me.  By that time things had mostly blown over and you could start to get a grocery delivery slot again! Lol so we mostly do that, and then DH will run in for a couple things here and there.</div><div>
</div><div>I don't really leave the house much all week, but when I do see them, I don't wear a mask around my family because to me, we are all healthy, so it's just stupid in the privacy of our own homes.  I know everyone has different circumstances where it may be more important to them, and that's fine, you can use your judgement on that based on your situation.  (For example, we haven't seen grandpa since before this whole thing happened, but he has his own bubble of aunts and uncles who help him on a regular basis getting him to appointments and such.)  SIL and her kids are about the only people I and DD see on a regular basis, and personally I don't want DD seeing people in masks all over the place, like it's a "new normal."  It's not normal.  DD stays with SIL for the day while I go to my appointments and run any other errands I can squeeze into the day, so she doesn't have to be out around the masked public.</div><div>
</div><div>We also have a bi-weekly playdate at this bub's Godparents' house, and we don't wear masks in their home, either.  I think everyone has got to decide for themselves how big to let their bubble be, and find a balance they feel comfortable with. :). Just to provide a voice in the wilderness that is not actually freaking out, but still trying to stay sensible and respectful of anybody else's right to do what they feel is best.

  • Unfortunately, it was confirmed today that I have an ectopic pregnancy...anyone have experience with methotrexate and how long it was until your next FET? I'm scheduled for the shot tomorrow.

  • @BusinessWife - Still pregnant, huh? Lol. I wish I had seen a chiropractor. I think it may be too late now.

@lucyb1954 - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! I have those same Covid-19 concerns and have had them the entire pregnancy. I've had to make some difficult decisions as to what family members to cut off. And it's the ones that that can't isolate/work from home because they are in retail. I'm just not willing to take the risk. And the same will be true for when little one gets here. I'll review everything again once she gets her first set of shots. But honestly I wasn't going to be having a whole lot of ppl hold and be around her the first two months anyway. And that was before I knew anything about Covid. And then with flu season coming in October... I'm sure I'm being an overly cautious FTM, but I'm OK with that. I also have my dad to be concerned about. He's older and I don't want to him to catch anything from me, so that makes me want to be extremely careful. Now my SO flips back and forth, especially since it was his family that mostly had to be cut. BUT he understands where I'm coming from.

AFM, the baby is now vertex! Woohoo. She did that on her own. I didn't have a chance to do the inversions, but the OB did say she's favoring my right side and we need her to be in the middle. I guess the walking is helping.

So glad the baby shifted for you!!!  Keep up the good work.  I would love to just go for a WALK, push the stroller or whatever.  But at least I've been busy doing things around the house, so hopefully that does some good, too.

  • @covergirl2985 I’m so sorry girl. I had an ectopic last year and I know it’s so so hard. Unfortunately mine wasn’t caught right away because I formed a false or disappearing sac in the uterus, which is common. It wasn’t until I started bleeding red that it was found in my tube but by that time I was 8 weeks and requires emergency surgery. Praying that the coming days are gentle. ❤️❤️❤️
  • @covergirl2985 I’m so sorry! I have no experience with ectopic pregnancy, but I hope to see you back here soon. Take care of yourself. ❤️
  • (((hugs))) @covergirl2985 I'm so sorry.
