    </li><li>
</li><li>How are you feeling this week? Okay, tailbone pain has amped back up again... Hoping it could be a sign of impending labor?  Really hoping this baby decides to come earlier than DD lol</li><li>
    </li><li>
</li><li>Rants/Raves? Questions? Rant: I suspect my leave is still not straightened out.  I will have to call them first thing in the morning and try to make that happen tomorrow.  I have a couple other SUPER ANNOYING paperwork type things I need to just bang out tomorrow, if at all possible because they are weighing on my mind and stressing me out.  I don't want to have anything like that lingering telling my body, "I'm not ready."</li><li>
    </li><li>
</li><li>Rave: This baby will have Godparents!!! I finally mustered the courage to ask our friends from Church, and they said Yes!  Also, MIL helped me sew a little binding on two lovely little blankies, and it came out so nicely!
    </li><li>
</li><li>Any upcoming appointments?  Wednesday, usual Chiro + MW</li><li>
    </li><li>
</li><li>GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season?  Pretty uneventful over here... I keep saying I want to get to the beach or a pool, but I don't even have a suit right now, and I don't much want to go to the community pool in my condition.  Hoping DH will help me set up the kiddie pool and slide in our backyard so DD can enjoy playing out there a little more...</li><li>
Oh! And it looks like our local playground is open!  So I really want to get out there one morning before it gets too hot so DD can try the swings. ☺️
    </li>
  • @BusinessWife we just to DS to the park this weekend! it's been open all along but I finally felt comfortable enough to go. He's 16 months so really liked the swings and throwing wood chips!
    • How far along/EDD? 6+3
    • How are you feeling this week? Nausea really started to pick up this week and coffee doesn't taste good  :s. That happened with DS too.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Kind of a rant and a question -- for my first FET in 2018 my first ultrasound was 4 weeks post transfer or 6 weeks pregnant. My ultrasound for this pregnancy isn't until next week or 5 weeks after transfer and 7 weeks pregnant. Does that seem late? Or maybe it's just my anxiousness creeping in.
    • Any upcoming appointments? See above. Ultrasound next Tuesday.
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? All things considered it's been a fun summer! We have a family lake place so have spent quite a bit of time there!

    • How far along/EDD? 10w3d, 3/6/2021
    • How are you feeling this week? Great! A little nervous because I stopped PIO and Crinone, but am choosing to stay on prometrium for a little longer. Discharge looks different, maybe because I’ve only been seeing the Crinone discharge? Who knows! Feeling good otherwise!
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? None!
    • Any upcoming appointments? Next Wednesday is my last ultrasound until October! Excited to see the baby one more time before the two month wait.
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? Summer has been uneventful! I turn 30 on Friday so a bbq with friends and then boating in Chicago Saturday ☀️ Great way to end the summer!
    • How far along/EDD? 36w0d
    • How are you feeling this week? Tired and achy. My tailbone is hurting really bad too @BusinessWife
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Rave - Paint color in nursery looks great! I'm so excited to start getting things together. ---Rant - Carpet installer can't come until next Wednesday, so I can't do anything until then. --- Question - this whole labor thing is starting to scare me. I'm realizing I don't know anything and don't know where to start. I just read a post on FB that said DON'T let doctor's do pitocin and an epidural. That they make the labor painful and put the  baby in distress. I just don't know what I should be asking for. Sigh... Thoughts?
    • Any upcoming appointments? Today and next Tuesday.
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? Pretty boring. Besides delivering, nope. hahaha.

@Kimbrlyg814 - Glad you're geeling better!! The wait between that last ultrasound and you're anatomy scan is soooo hard! Hang in there!

@madasm0530 - Even though mine was a spontaneous pregnancy, my RE didn't do an ultrasound until 6w2d and then they did one every week until 9 weeks. Then I started I transitioned to the OB.

@BusinessWife - I'm sure you're little one will absolutely LOVE the playground! I feel so bad for the children during this whole pandemic thing.

  • @31magnolia that's why i'm bumming, it seems like every ultrasound is around 6 weeks. in all reality it's another week and not that big of a deal but i want to see the baby!!!

regarding labor, I was induced and did both pitocin and had an epidural. I can't speak to labor without an epidual but i was in labor for 42 hours and i feel like it was a godsend and no distress to the baby - that's just me and my experience!

    • How far along/EDD? 26w4d
    • How are you feeling this week? Pretty good. Feel like this belly had a growth spurt! Starting to organize baby stuff and thought about pre-registering at the hospital. DD came 7 weeks early so I want to be prepared just in case!
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Got an email from HR with official information about 12 weeks paid maternity leave that goes into effect Oct 1! Now this baby just needs to stay put until then so I can use it!
    • Any upcoming appointments? Friday! Finally get to see this little one and see how they are growing. This is the US that saw IUGR with DD so hoping everything goes smoothly. Also got referred to my clinics perinatal services where a nurse will call me every week just to check in due to my previous preterm labor. Little extra monitoring can’t hurt!
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? Summers been okay. We’ve kept busy on most weekends, found a little beach to go to and got a kiddie pool for our balcony (which I have also used several times). I’m bummed a lot of our plans got cancelled due to Covid and that our condo pool didn’t open but we’re making the best of it!

@31magnolia if I think too much about labor I start getting anxious, and I’ve been thru it before! But never with a (hopefully) full term baby and that’s freaking me out. Just trust your gut and you’ve got this!!
    • How far along/EDD? 5w4d according to the latest US, once we have another ill update the due date.
    • How are you feeling this week? Alright. Anxious with the testing. No appetite. Boobs are feeing different, any time I take my bra off it almost feels like that let down feeling when you’re breastfeeding.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? I got the 3+ on a Clearblue to time to end my POAS addiction lol
    • Any upcoming appointments? Thursday - ultrasound to see some hopeful growth.
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? Summer has been pretty good considering COVID. I have a vacation week next week and would like to get to a beach.
@madasm0530 - I think that’s ok! Then you’ll know for sure what you are going to expect. Right at 6w you “should” see a heart beat but at 7w you know you will. I think I’d rather that extra wait to avoid extra worry. Easier said than done though right.

    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? My boyfriend has been building a garage in the backyard for months, pretty much with every spare moment. It should be done soon so we'll actually get to do something! Now just to get rid of the nausea...
Nausea was particularly crappy today. I'm still WFH and I have Zofran, but it still sucks. I can't get ahold of my coordinator, I'll just have to try calling tomorrow to see if I can either up my dose or do something different.

@31magnolia birth scares me too! However, I think there's a lot of hype around different methods...do what feels good to you. If you do natural, I think the pitocin can be painful (if you need to be induced). Many of my friends are big proponents of natural but...I don't know. A friend of mine who is now on her second tried to do natural with her first but after 24 hours of natural, the doctors said she had to get an epidural or c-section because she was so tired. Looking back on it, she says she doesn't know why she was so stubborn about doing it natural even after all those hours of labor! I think she just had a vision of how the birth was supposed to go and it was hard to let go of.

@madasm0530 when the nausea kicked in, coffee was a hard pass. I love coffee so it made me sad but it was pretty much the first thing to go. The only things I can safely eat right now are cantaloupe and watermelon.
    • How far along/EDD? 10w6d, EDD 3/4/2021
    • How are you feeling this week? Having a pretty good week so far.  The queasiness has eased up.  I still feel adverse to wanting to eat food but once I start I'm usually okay.  My husband and I are both enjoying not having to do PIO shots at night any more.  I have had headaches the past two days (we're in the midst of another heatwave and I don't think my sinuses are a fan).
    • Rants/Raves? Questions?  I had my first OB appointment yesterday.  It went well/was pretty anti-climactic.  The OB tried to do an ultrasound in office and while the picture was not super clear I could see the little guy's feet moving, the OB said she could see the heartbeat, and he's measuring right on target.  So that was very reassuring.  Also I succeeded in getting 90% of the junk cleaned out of the nursery.  Started ordering a few things for that this month.  Rug should be here on Friday.
    • Any upcoming appointments?  NT scan on August 24.  I'm excited for the opportunity to see my little guy much clearer than I did yesterday.  Also apparently I'm allowed to bring my DH with me!!!
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season?  My summer has been pretty quiet.  My sister gave birth to her second baby (a boy) on June 22.  Her oldest child (also a boy) turns 5 on August 24.  Getting to spend time with my sister's family plus my dad most Sundays is usually the highlight of my week.  Although I will say that being around the newborn makes me nervous for motherhood.  I can't wait to be a parent but I am so not a baby person.  Along with not looking forward to delivery, I'm also anxiously anticipating the first year or so of parenting...
@mptbadger Are you a federal government employee by any chance?  My husband and I both work for the federal government and I am very excited about the new paid parental leave policy effective for any babies born after October 1st.
  • @31magnolia I am chiming in on the pitocin thing. While I have never had a vaginal birth, my sister was induced with all four of her girls. I can say that she had uncomplicated deliveries and her babies came into this world very healthy and zero issues. The thing is birth is unpredictable, so you can only make the decision that works for you. She was induced at 40+ weeks because her blood pressure always spiked up, and she never had the opportunity to go into labor on her own.
  • @lauralew yes I am! I’m still in disbelief that they are FINALLY offering paid leave but am so excited. I’m hoping I can take that and my accrued leave to really extend my time off this time around. Are you guys in the DC area by any chance?

I found with babies it can be different when it’s your own. When I would hold friends babies I always felt anxious or awkward but with my daughter it just felt more natural and was more relaxed (eventually). Although some people just aren’t newborn/infant ppl and there’s nothing wrong with that - the good/bad thing is when they’re so little they change and grow SO fast that each phase doesn’t last too long!
  • @mtpbadger No, we work out of one of the Regional offices in Philadelphia.  I am thrilled about the paid leave as well!  It's been a silver lining to how long our infertility journey has taken us.  I'm also hoping to be able to take advantage of a combination of paid leave and accrued leave to be able to keep our LO home for as long as possible before he starts daycare. :)
  • Looks like I'm out. The sac didn't grow at all but my symptoms went up quite a bit so now I'm back to Betas and Ultrasounds in reverse to make for sure it's not ectopic. Bummer but we did get given a Funded Round of IVF which was set for October so...still looking forward to that!
Thanks Ladies and best of luck - hope to see you all again soon!

  • @wildrainbow @JWatt5 @lucyb1954 @mtpbadger @vetgirl2011 @madasm0530 -  thanks for the advice and opinions. So the doctor called with the results from the growth scan. The baby is transverse lie, head on right side butt on left, facing the back. So vaginal birth may no longer even be an option. :(  Doctor wants me to walk more and see if the baby can turn on her own. At next week's appointment she will see if she can move the baby, but it's only an option if the baby is laying a certain way. I think because I sit ALL day, the baby has found sideways to be the most comfortable position and I'm always rubbing the middle part of my belly and she responds to that.
I guess we'll see what happens at the next appointment. The dr did say she'll run a BPP test weekly and as long as I stay an 8 or higher then she won't induce. That was before she got the results of the ultrasound.

  • @JWatt5 - I'm so sorry to hear this. It sounds like you have a plan for next steps, which is great news. Wishing you the best of luck!!

<div>@JWatt5  I'm so sorry to hear this.  But I'm glad you have your funded cycle waiting for you to fall back on. (((Hugs)))</div><div>
</div><div>@31magnolia  have you looked at spinning babies?  Also check out the Miles Circuit.  LSS, leaning forward can help get baby out of your pelvis, and then you would lay on your side so they settle into a vertical lie.  I have been making sure to do the Rest Smart stuff and in one night of really sleeping hips quite elevated, knee and ankle well supported, leaning a bit forward even (the diagrams on the website describe it better) I was able to get this little stinker out of a posterior position.  Last pregnancy, the spinning babies exercises helped me flip my breech baby head down before I even had a chance to see the chiropractor!  Definitely worth a shot - feel free to PM me if you have questions ❤️
    </div>
  • @JWatt5 lots of hugs girl! ❤️
    • How far along/EDD? 20 w, dec 31
    • How are you feeling this week? still struggling with the vomiting. Its now getting to the point my belly is getting in the way of effectively getting to the toilet to vomit, so that's fun. On the plus side I found these lysol toilet cling things which make my toilet smell good, so that has been better. The little things right? We started doing weekly IV fluids, so other than the vomiting, I am actually feeling better over all. I managed to gain back one pound last week, rather than continue to lose, so I am calling that a win.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? I had my twenty week ultrasound today. Good news, good news, annoying but expected news and slightly bad news.
Good news - Baby and I are both doing well. She is still a girl. She is 67th percentile, which is GREAT, and it looks like she does not have my heart issue, but they said 20 weeks is a bit early for a fetal echo, so they said it was "optional" if I wanted to follow up with another in several weeks, they didn't get one corner of the heart, but arent worried based on what they could see.
Annoying news - they want me to start on lovenox injections for MY heart. We expected this, it was in my pre-pregnancy plan, but it's annoying, and I was hoping to avoid it since i'm doing better physically. So. Booo.
Bad news - I have something called a "velamentous cord insertion" - basically her cord it lightly attached to the side of the placenta instead of where it belongs. This can cause a few different complications, including IUGR (which I am already at risk for because of the HG)  BUT - she's 67th percentile now, so it's clearly not an issue. (yet) and it can cause issues in labor - I had thought about trying a VBAC, but a planned C section is looking like what will happen now.  Apparently risk factors are prior infertility, reproductive assistance, maternal age (35+) twin pregnancies, obesity, and smoking. I hit all but two (twins and smoking) so even though there was a 1% chance of this happening it also made sense it did.
    • Any upcoming appointments? Fluids Monday, and I am planning to call my doctor about the appointment at the MFM tomorrow (today I guess) and see if they can get me in for next week. I am feeling a little freaked out by the cord issue.
    • GTKY: How's your summer been?  Anything fun on your bucket list for the season? Summer has been mellow, good. Work has been busy this last two weeks, (and my son's birthday, and mine, and our anniversary) so some relaxation is on my bucket list. I'd love to take a few days completely off, and just sit by the (kiddie) pool with a (virgin) margarita in my hand.

@Bu@BusinessWife glad you are getting things wrapped up!
@31@31magnolia little babe was transverse for me too. I know she has plenty of time to shift, but she seemed pretty content. My son was flipping around constantly, she just laid there sucking her thumb.
@jwatt5 Sorry to hear this. Be kind to yourself, and I am glad you have a funded cycle coming up.
@laurelew I know everyone says this - but it really is different when they are your own. The day they find their hands is like SO COOL, and everyone else is like "Yeah.. they came with those?"
@ve@vetgirl2011 a bag of gas station ice in a kiddie pool and soak your feet - its heaven!
@ma@madasm0530 the eternal wait! Hang in there!
@lu@lucyb1954 Phenergan works better for me, but it does make me sleepy! If you are taking zofran make sure to ask your OB what laxitive you should take. Z poops are no joke. I'm on both those meds right now.

  • @the_road_to_oz for sure, the Z poops are no joke! I'm so grateful though for at least a couple of hours of feeling like my old self after taking it. My RE also prescribed Bonjesta so we'll see if that helps. But pretty much all antihistamines will dry you out so the poops ain't gonna get much better! So sorry to hear you have HG. That sounds absolutely miserable.
@31magnolia wow, sounds like baby is in a crazy position! Maybe some of the exercises will work so you'll have a choice about your labor. Although it sucks, modern tech is such a win for providing insight into that. You're so close! I can't believe it, friend! Do you have a name all picked out? I'm so glad we could overlap <3 I'm so glad folks here aren't militant about natural birth. I once had a boyfriend that was and I was like, well good thing it's not your choice! :( Anyway, there's a reason he's an ex :) I have heard that first births are difficult and esp when you're a bit older (I'm soon to be 39 next week so I'm a wee nervous) so I don't know what I'll do.

@JWatt5 and @ReesaAnne16 I am so, so sorry to hear your news. IF is just bunk, and so heartbreaking. People who have not experienced it truly have no idea. My heart goes out to you both.

Glad to hear the input about things being different with your own babies. While I adore my little niece and nephew, sometimes they drive me batty. Although that's also a reflection on my sister's lack of parenting sometimes so I don't know if it's a true reflection of my feelings.

AFM, had an U/S today at 9+3. Everything looks fantastic and on target. Discharged from my RE today, OB appt next week. I'm still so so nervous but with each U/S, I gain a little bit more hope.
  • @BusinessWife -  thanks for the info! I looked up spinning babies and I’ll be trying the exercises. I’ll also take a look at the others you provided. Glad to hear it worked for you.

@the_road_to_oz - did your little one ever move out of transverse?

@lucyb1954 - I am so happy we get to overlap too!! Haha on the ex!! And yay on graduating to your OB! I can tell you that you’ll miss those weekly ultrasounds but hang in there! I’m so nervous about labor and mainly early labor because I’m still not ready and I’m running out of time. Also every week I learn something new about child birth and I realize how much I don’t know and so I have a new set of questions and concerns every week! My fiancé acts like everything is no big deal which is also annoying as hell. Lol.
  • @31magnolia she’s super lazy. She only rolled over once the whole ultrasound.

  • @31magnolia my boyfriend keeps telling me "don't overthink it"!!! Right, like that's going to work. Every night I have a new worry. Last night I stayed up forever wondering how to bathe a newborn and what if I'm home alone and she has a poop explosion and I can't bathe her myself! Then I figured I would use a whole box of wipes and wait til the boyfriend gets home to give her a bath. :)
  • @lucyb1954 you’ll surprise yourself with what your capable of! The first time DH went out of town overnight is the first time DD had her first allergic reaction to food and ended up vomiting all over herself and me (several times) and I had to figure out what to do. I handled it WAY better than I thought and still managed to get us both cleaned up, my lunch made for work the next day and was on time for work and daycare the next day! You’ll be amazing!
  • @mtpbadger thanks! This stuff truly keeps me awake at night and newborns are so tiny they kinda scare me 😳 the other night I was stressing about how much I need to be careful of supporting the baby’s head. It’s like I spent so much time getting here and now I’m petrified!

<div>@lucyb1954  you'll be great!  I remember wondering if I was doing it wrong because I didn't generally worry at all about supporting baby's head.  But I mean, she was a big baby with a strong neck, so she basically came out holding up her own head! Lol So letting that sink in helped me realize I was still instinctively doing what she needed me to do, listening to my baby's needs, and responding accordingly.  Some babies are more tiny and fragile, and you will know where to support her if that's your child. ❤️
    </div><div>
</div><div>Even bathing baby, there's SO MANY ways to do it that are all totally right and good, safe and effective, and I have no doubt you will find the ways that work for you.  In the beginning, you really don't need to do a full water /tub bath; you can use warm wet washcloths on the change table, or I used a lot of micellar water-soaked cotton pads and baby washcloths.  Baby wipes are not just for bottoms, either!</div><div>
</div><div>My worst case scenario, I was alone with the baby and she started to choke.  I didn't even think, just finger swept her mouth, got her face/ head down, patted her firmly, and whatever it was (milk / saliva down the wrong tube, I suppose) came out. 🤷 Scary few seconds there for sure, but once she was okay, I was instantly okay too, and left feeling like, Wow, I just knew what to do there, and I actually helped her!  It was a pretty empowering mom moment.</div><div>
</div><div>But babies are incredibly resilient, and bouncy, even. lol I remember the first time DD tumbled off the couch as she was just early sitting.  Literally somersaulted like a little gymnast, bum over teakettle, and was totally fine.  Startled!!! for sure, but 100% squishy rolly-poley wonder and all good. 👍 You got this.</div><div>

  • @mtpbadger and @BusinessWife thank you so much! It's so weird the whole mindset shift from all this time trying to conceive and then it just feels like a total jolt to be pregnant. And a whole new set of worries. And it's scary to wonder if those instincts will kick in...omg, that choking story must have been so scary! The only thing that makes me feel better is thinking that at least worry means I'm going to try hard. I think it's probably more natural/rational to be scared than not?

I'm hoping to take a parenting class with my partner after I pass the first trimester, I don't know if that will reassure me as to what to do. The other thing I was worrying about the other night was like when to start giving them Cheerios...how do you know when they're ready??? Lol, I should probably read some books. Any suggestions for books that won't scare the hell out of me???

<div>@lucyb1954  It's definitely and adjustment in terms of mindset, but the farther your pregnancy progresses, the more times you see baby in ultrasound, the more your belly starts to show, I think the wonderful reality will keep sinking in, that you are no longer TTC!  It took a while for me to be able to really accept and enjoy pregnancy, and not keep looking back.  We had been TTC for so. Long.  It's normal I think to need time to adjust the mindset. ❤️</div><div>
    </div><div>Also:</div><div>https://nursingmoms.net/when-can-babies-have-cheerios/</div><div>
</div><div>Lol Hope that helps!  Good thing is, each stage of baby's development follows the next, so you don't have to worry about having it all figured out at once.  You can focus on pregnancy first, then on labor prep, basic newborn/infant care, nursing/ bottle feeding.  Solid food won't come till at least four months, maybe closer to six months!  And apparently the Cheerios people say to wait till 9-12 months lol So that'll be a while! :)

  • @lucyb1954 Both TTC and now that we're expecting, I have appreciated that your concerns have mirrored mine (because it makes me feel less alone).

I have been feeling the same anxieties that you have -- not to mention childbirth which I feel like I should learn more about but I absolutely do not want to research it and then feel even more freaked out!

Regarding babies and infants I have been lucky in that my youngest nephew was born the same week I got my BFP.  My sister lives within walking distance of us and getting to see both of my nephews on Sundays is the highlight of my week.  My sister has given me some practice with holding the little one from time to time when we're together.  It's both a blessing and a curse because I get to feel more comfortable being around a LO but it also makes me extra nervous at times, especially when she tells me about a rough day or I see him being extra fussy.

I fully plan to ask my sister most of my new mother questions next year (when to introduce this or that to the baby, etc.).  We're one year apart in age and I am the older sister.  Motherhood is the only thing she has done before me and while that idea was a huge bummer to me a few years ago, I am sooo looking forward to taking advantage of her prior knowledge and experiences.  >:)
  • @laurelew oh yes, lady, I'm sure whatever crazy thing has passed your mind, has passed mine too! And probably at 2am :) That is so lovely that your sis lives down the street and you can pick her brain! I have two older sisters. My middle sister has two kids, 6 and 3, but honestly...she's not the most competent mom. I'm happy her kids are doing well, but not sure I would trust any advice she would have to give. My oldest sister probably has good advice, I'll need her around. My mom is in her 70s so sometimes I worry her advice is a bit dated...pretty sure she put rum on my binky while I was teething as a kid and also pretty sure you don't do that anymore! lol.

How do you feel about being around kids? I saw an article in the news today that kids are superspreaders of COVID and tend to have much higher viral loads than adults (plus they are grubby!). My sister's little ones are not in school yet but will be in October and my boyfriend and I have not decided what we feel comfortable with. Like...are they not allowed to touch me? Should they have their masks on at all times around me? Right now it's not a huge deal because I see them outside, but when the weather turns and they are around more kids, I feel very nervous about that. It's really hard because I absolutely adore them both, and the younger boy in particular just loves to cuddle, he's in a very attention hungry phase.
  • @lucyb1954 I took a few days off from the boards and thinking about my own baby worries to try to de-stress.  Yesterday we celebrated my oldest nephew's 5th birthday (it was just my sister's family, my DH and myself, and my dad and his girlfriend, who are all part of our quarantine circle).  I am not worried about being around my nephews at this time because my sister's family is practicing the same quarantine restrictions that we've been practicing.  They have opted for virtual learning for my oldest nephew for this year (the school ended up going all virtual to start but even before then they had made that choice to keep him at home).  So I know that I can be around them in a safe space at this time.

My oldest nephew was a great sport celebrating his birthday with just us adults as company.  He said he had a lot of fun.  My sister told me he had mentioned to her that next year he hopes there are no more germs for his next birthday.  Don't we all kid, don't we all.
