Rant/Rave: Rant: We are officially a few days away from our supposed close date (8/7) and I don't think it is going to happen by Friday. I am beyond frustrated with our lender. I understand if they are busy and cannot get everything done by the 7th, it is a crazy time right now, but at least f*cking tell us that!! UGHHH! They literally haven't said a word to us and when I reach out to them they pretty much tell me to stop bothering them and they'll tell us when they have something for us..... WTF. I just want to cry. Thank god we didn't put in our 30 days notice at our apartment, we would be screwed. We are both first time home buyers so IDK if this is normal or not, but I just can't believe this is how all lenders are...

GTKY: Are you a morning person or a night owl? I've always been a night owl, and absolutely dread mornings. MH always says how mean I am when I first wake up, lol! I also have insomnia so I used to be up until 3 or 4 am every night (not out doing anything, just laying in bed watching TV, on my phone, tossing and turning, etc.). However, the last few years I've started to get tired much earlier and I am usually out by 11/12 on weekends and 10/11 on weekdays. So.... not really a night owl or morning person, lol!

Update on house: FINALLY just heard from my lender... they called to let me know that "oops!" somehow they were unaware that the freaking title company is closed this entire week so we most definitely cannot close on Friday. So now waiting to hear what the new closing date will be. Going to shut myself in a closet now and cry/scream/freak out.

Rant/Rave: Rant - My Macbook charger cable is all frayed and now the trackpad is malfunctioning, so now I have to buy a replacement charger and see about replacing the trackpad, whoch will prob be more than I care to spend on fixing up an old computer. Woohoo! Rave - I finally got my hair done and feel so much more normal! I noticed the next night that one of my earrings was missing and looked all over my apartment for it to no avail, so I texted my stylist and they actually found it in the drain trap on the sink! I was pretty thrilled about that (I guess it's the small things, sometimes).

GTKY: Are you a morning person or a night owl? Neither, lol. I just want to sleep, but if I had to pick, I'd say night owl. I hate mornings and I am Garfield the cat.

@bserena So frustrating about your close date! Buying a home is a giant PITA, but ends up being so so so worth it in the end, and you probably won't ever think about the associated frustrations again. I know that was the case for us, at least. We own our apartment - which is an old school NYC co-op; so not only did we have to deal with the typical BS, we had to contend with putting together a board package with literally every single financial detail about us, ever (even the banks do not require this level of disclosure) and a sloooooooooowwwww review/interview process. I definitely feel your pain, but one more week won't matter in the grand scheme and it'll be so nice to have you home ready for your little baby!!!!

Rant/Rave: really starting to feel pregnant. This is going to be a long 3rd tri
Rave - I painted the dresser for DS's room, just have to put a finishing coat or 2 on it and the bedside table and I think we're almost ready to move him into his new room

Questions? Any STM+ doing a baby sprinkle or the like?

GTKY: Are you a morning person or a night owl? Neither. I like to go to bed by 10 at the latest and get up for work at 630 at the earliest (only since having DS, before that it was even later)

@bserena I can imagine you're so frustrated. Better communication from the lender would have been nice, especially since they had to have known sooner that it wasn't going to happen on time. FX it gets figured out and soon!

@laurenmicheley yay for getting your hair done! I got mine done maybe a month ago and felt like a new woman... LOL. It was really nice to be pampered a bit. And yes, it'll be worth it for sure, you are right! Sounds like you guys had to jump through a ton of hoops! We finally got a new close date, the 17th, so here is to hoping that we can stick with this one, haha.

@ksdelong20 Ohhh I would love to see pictures of the nursery and dresser if you are up to sharing! Since I can't start the nursery until we move I am living vicariously through you all

Rant/Rave: getting used to having to pee all the time takes some getting used to for sure. But I’ve been sleeping pretty good lately which has been nice for sure.

Upcoming Appointments: I'm at the lab for my 3 hr glucose test - 1 of 4 draws down, and feeling nice and nauseous from 100 g of glucose on an empty stomach 🤢 Then I have a phone appt on Friday.

Rant/Rave: having to go for the 3 hr glucose test really sucks, but they were a bit more lenient about the water consumption this time, so I took small sips until midnight, and am doing much better because of it. I hate spending all this time in a hospital lab waiting room right now though 😬

GTKY: Are you a morning person or a night owl? Morning person! I have a hard time waking up, but once I am awake I am happy and glad to be up (much more so after a cup of tea).
I can't stay up past 10 for the life of me...

@bserena Yay for getting a new close date; FX for you it actually happens on time! I've gotten sooooo many compliments on my hair; part of me is wondering if I looked like a true hot mess prior to it LOL. We did a smokey, ashy amethyst color and I absolutely love it.

@ksdelong20 I'm starting to feel super pregnant, too. Can't believe we only have like 3 months to go! Things are about to get crazy.

@jzajac06 I'm jealous of your good sleep! It's been so long since I have a full night's rest.

@hedgepig GL for your 3-hour test! Do you find out results immediately or do you have to wait? TB fruit/veggie comparisons are so wonky; it's a running joke between DH and me.

@laurenmicheley The TB size comparisons are totally silly. I laugh at them all the time!

Happily my lab results loaded almost instantly into my patient portal, so I knew even before I had my 4th draw that I had passed with flying colors. I rewarded myself with cookies and In N Out. Now if I could just kick the caffeine withdrawal headache that comes with having your first cup of coffee at noon... 😭

Rant/Rave: Rant-- I'm feeling so lazy lately. Hopefully soon I can write a to-do list and start to get some things done. Rave-- I got a bunch of maternity hand-me-downs from a friend and I feel like I won the lottery. I usually don't spend much money on clothing and had been completely fine with the few pieces I was wearing mixed in with my regular clothes, though some of it was starting to get snug.

GTKY: Are you a morning person or a night owl? Mostly a morning person. I've gotten a little bit more relaxed about it since DH is more of a night owl, but I feel the most productive in the morning.
