@legallykate also a swiftie but have only listened to folklore once. I feel like it will grow on me once I'm not in covid depression lol
  • @bbrahmbhatt mushrooms are delicious!

@inthewoods23 I can take or leave Nutella. If it’s on something, I can eat it but I don’t go out of my way to eat it.
@legallykate I haven’t gotten to listen to her new album yet. I’ll have to check it out.

My UO: I don't like lillies. The smell reminds me too much of being in a funeral home.
  • @emeraldduchess oh, I have a flower one too! I don’t like the smell of lilacs! I think they smell like boogers. 🤣

  • @inthewoods23 I'm allergic to Nutella so it's a big no for me too.

@legallykate it took me way too long to realize you're talking about Taylor Swift. At first I thought you were saying you like to use swiffers but couldn't get into their lore??  :D

My UO today (might not shock anyone who's read my rants on tww) is that I hate summer. By far the worst of all the seasons. Bring me winter please!

  • @chindimples04 pineapple pizza is my faveee!
@bbrahmbhatt I absolutely love mushrooms of all types. I currently have some chicken of the woods mushrooms in my freezer that I need to cook up. Maybe some mushroom/veggie curry?
@inthewoods23 just send all of your nutella my way lmao! I eat that shit by the jar!
@Amphibious22 don't you DARE wish winter on us. I agree that I hate summer but the winters here are horrible (though with climate change they're disturbingly unpredictable now...)
My UO is that I think eating breakfast is extremely weird and I don't understand people who can stomach food within a few hours of waking up. (note: not hating on breakfast foods, except for eggs... eggs are disgusting unless they're cooked absolutely perfectly)

  • @emeraldduchess I have never been one for roses, but that's mostly because cut roses die so fast! The first bouquet I got from DH was all white daisies (my favorite) and with the packet or 2 of plant food that came with it those babies lasted a whole month!

@Amphibious22 I like summer for the warmth, but definitely not for the humidity! Makes it so difficult to do yard work and such.

@ashaislurking omg that sounds so gross. Although I'd eat peanut butter by the jar so who am I to judge? DH is like that about having breakfast. I think it works best if he's already showered for the day. He seems to be the type that requires a lot of time to be fully functional. Hence why we almost never have AM sex, cuz he's not awake enough for it.

On a side note, who the heck ever has time to make a full breakfast before going to work/school?? I feel like I'd have to wake up at 4am to make that happen AND be ready on time.

  • @inthewoods23 I also eat PB from the jar. Fun quick story- in my intro to psych class the first row always used to do weird stuff to see if we could get a reaction from the professor. This included Halloween in September, bringing pillows and blankets to class, and bringing a jar of peanut butter and a bunch of spoons and passing it up and down the row to eat during class. Fun times.

  • Love pineapple on pizza and love mushrooms!

But I also really like Folklore... I almost didn't listen because I didn't like Lover at all and was kinda meh on Reputation (though that one grew on me more over time), so I thought maybe I'd just grown out of liking Taylor Swift. But then I read that Folklore was a way different vibe than Lover (and learned that the guy from the National, a band I really like, was heavily involved in making it) so I gave it a try and have been listening on repeat ever since. I feel like it has a chill energy that matches everyone's kind of exhausted mood these days, haha.

Also totally agree with @ashaislurking, I have zero appetite in the mornings. I drink a latte most days and the first solid food I eat is usually around 1 p.m. I do like eggs though!

  • @the_most_happy I'm SUPER picky about my eggs. MH knows how to cook them the way I like them which is great because I do like to eat them occasionally but it is not a frequent thing at all. My parents other child used to cook them every morning and burn them 9 times out of 10 so every time I smell eggs cooking I smell burnt eggs. I hate it.

  • @emeraldduchess I 100% agree with you on the lillies reminding me of funeral homes. I cannot take it. The smell makes me so sad.

Pineapple on pizza is amazing, Nutella is amazing, I NEED food in the morning and can't understand not eating it but I've heard that some people do better without it (as opposed to the old adage that eating breakfast is healthy/skipping is unhealthy...it's very personal and related to your metabolism). I have opinions on eggs. I hate cooked yolks (obviously scrambled, quiche, etc. is amazing but no hard boiled or over hard).

  • Wow, I didn't know so many people were anti-breakfast! I eat breakfast (usually scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and fruit) everyday. So I guess that's another UO? I will pretty much eat eggs any way, but I used to refuse to eat any kind of over hard/hard boiled yolks.
  • @chindimples04 THANK YOU!!!! Pineapple on pizza is soooooooo freaking delicious!!!
@inthewoods23 I'm cracking up at that Ryan Gosling gif
    @bbrahmbhatt I LOVE mushrooms!!
@emeraldduchess I love the look of lillies, and I like them when they grow outside in my garden (Tiger Lillies) but I also hate the smell of regular lillies!! Totally agree!
@ashaislurking I'm the same! I have no appetite in the mornings at all, except for my coffee, in fact I don't really start to get hungry until like 11:30ish.

Wow, these UOs are popping today!

Of course I have lots to contribute hahaha:
Have your pineapple on pizza, but please don’t call it Hawaiian pizza. We do not eat that here.😆 It’s the same way we don’t drink this crap, can’t even find it in a store here (maybe Walmart?):

    Mushrooms & Nutella are delish!
Breakfast is definitely the BEST meal of the day! Gimme all the eggs!
Summer is the BEST season of the year! Come at me.😆
    ETA: Roses smell like death.

Taylor Swift is hit or miss. She lost me at “This sick beat...” which was part of an absolutely terribly annoying song & had NO beat, and everything of hers since then has sounded meh...
  • @keikilove I'm not sure I knew you lived in Hawaii (should have guessed with "keiki"!). Which island? My family is from there/most still live there and I spent a lot of time there growing up. You're so right though, Hawaiian pizza is 100% a haole thing, lolololol.
  • My UO is that I still love the song MMMBop!
And.... I still know every single lyric to it.

  • I have a new UO - in messaging, people should not include your name as part of their response. I don't know what it is that makes it sound so grating or condescending to me for my coworker to respond to me with "Okay thanks [my name]". Maybe it's because he's the only one that does it?? I don't know, but it rubs me the wrong way.

  • @inthewoods23 Ah, this is a good one! I had a boss that would start every email like this:

    “Keiki—

    Blah Blah blah blah blah...”

Every damn email sounded like he was scolding or correcting me for something. Hated it!
  • @keikilove it took me a loooong time to stop feeling so anxious when my boss would call me into their office. My first boss was critical of EVERYTHING and maybe once ever complimented me on something I did. My new workplace I'm praised all the time and when my boss has a question for me he says "can I bug you for a second" - much better than the "can you come to my office". Asking to bug me tells me he just wants my input on something. Also he's not a micromanager like my first boss so he's 100x better at being a boss than her.

  • @inthewoods23 Oh yeah! The “can you come into my office” is the WORST! I had one terrible boss who would say to me in group meetings “We need to talk” right in front of the entire team!!! Or she’d say it right as I was running out to other meetings and wouldn’t be able to meet with her until late afternoon or the next day. It was so anxiety-inducing, but in the end all she ever meant was “We need to touch base on some projects” or “let’s go over these new developments”. She had no managerial skills, was a terrible boss in so many ways. So glad you have a 1000% better boss now who values you!
  • @inthewoods23 I definitely think that's a workplace to workplace thing. My dad was in sales for the LONGEST time working with massive companies where formality is vital if you want to get the contract. On the other hand in more casual work environments or in workplaces where it's not common practice then I think overuse of someone's name (especially pointedly) can definitely come off as condescending and would 100% rub me the wrong way.

  • Pineapple on pizza is wonderful, but mushrooms are crazy, hell no!
Winter is definitely superior to summer, but fall is definitely the best season.
Breakfast is the best meal by far! The best part of my day is usually waking up early, making a nice breakfast and browsing the internet while I slowly eat and have my coffee!

@chindimples04 Lilac is literally my favorite scent, so I’m super amused that you hate it
  • @fitzfizz smells like allergy season. 🤢 I don’t mind it in a candle, but not straight on the bush.

  • @chindimples04 We has lilacs in our yard growing up, so the smell reminds me of that and makes me so happy. I buy every lilac scented thing I can find. I make a special trip to the botanic gardens whenever the lilacs are blooming just to smell them  :)
  • @the_most_happy Aloha! That’s too funny what you said about the pineapple pizza invention😂 Where is your family from? I’m on the outer islands. I try to keep it vague on here because you know how the outer islands have lower populations/tight-knit communities, and everyone knows everyone’s cousin/aunty/grandma.😉 I don’t want our whole TTC journey getting out there on the coconut wireless 🥥 📞 🤭

@kpearse99 Girl, you always hold me down!😄🥰
  • I can't believe how many people don't like/eat breakfast!  I usually wake up super hungry and always eat breakfast, though usually not an elaborate one.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @keikilove oh no worries, I know how it is- that actually occurred to me after posting, I was like "Hmm, depending on which island she's on she might not want to say because that could get too identifying"... just didn't occur to me at first because my family is on Oahu, haha. A very crowded island but everyone still seems to know everyone somehow!
