Babies: 9 - 12 Months

milk?

when do you plan on switching to whole milk?

Re: milk?

  • Depends.  If I can get Kate back to the breast after her chylothorax has resolved, I'm going to nurse her until she's 24 months.  If she won't come back to the breast, then I'm only willing to EP until she's 12 months old.  So...either 24 months or 12 months. :)

  • With DS, I started at 12 months. I would give him one sippy of it a day, then the next week I did two sippys, until he had no more bottles or formula. It worked great so I will try it again with DD.
  • We plan on making the switch on his 1st birthday.

  • We switched to milk at 1 year old.
  • We are going to switch soon (11 months).  Here in Canada they say you can start them anywhere between 9-12 months.  Right now she takes a few ounces in a sippy with each meal.  We go to the Dr next week, so I'll see how she suggests to do it.
  • As soon as I'm out of formula!  I bought two huge cans from Sam's and guess that it will be gone by the end of February or first of March.  So, that will put Chase at 11 months.  At least I'm going to try the slow ease into milk at 11 months to see how he does.
