Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: tomorrow: a sweet potato
Upcoming appointments: Need to schedule one for my 20 weeks two weeks from now. Calling to find a new OB today in my new town. I've only had one appt so far this entire pregnancy (we really crammed everything into that). Covid (and possibly moving) has kind of been messing w the pregnancy appointments.
How are you feeling?: Impatient to feel the baby. I've been lying down with hands on stomach trying to tune in to the baby moving. Nothing.
Rants/Raves: Bought a snoo. Moved to this mid-sized town/city and was convinced the second-hand market had to be significantly cheaper than NYC, so decided to put a search on FB Market for it. Found it the first day of my search for $200!! And--it works. I mean, at least my extensive testing is working--it's synced to our wifi and my phone and everything. Pretty happy with this deal. It's the first baby thing we own! I didn't expect to get anything this early on. Especially since we will move again in Nov.
Questions: none
GTKY: Love this Q. I've set a goal to read at least one (non-baby book) a month. My favorite fictional book this year has been Exhalation by Ted Chiang. It's sci-fi I guess, but very philosophical. It made the NYT best books of 2019 list, so that's how I found it: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/22/books/review/best-books.html As far as baby (non-pregnancy) books, I am only part way into Bringing Up Bebe, by Pamela Druckerman, and it's far better than I had expected. Highly recommend.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: brilliant beet
Upcoming appointments: August 14th, telehealth visit for a regular check up
How are you feeling?: Pretty good overall
Rants/Raves: I still have an ear infection that is not healing with antibiotics. Trying to get into a general practitioner to see what's going on.
Questions:
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? I am reading a book for work for a book review we have to do. Other than that I usually listen to something on audible. It depends month to month what I feel like listening to.
@lavenderclouds OMG what an amazing deal! Now I'm determined to find one.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: size of a pomegranate, finger and toenails are coming in
Upcoming appointments: tomorrow although it may be telemedicine now...my vacation last week was in RI, which still has travel restrictions in our home state so I'm supposed to stay home for 2 weeks and/or get tested! I didn't realize till I got home, it isn't a restricted state in other NE states. I got tested at urgent care yesterday and called the doctor to let them know and they're going to let me know if I'm allowed to physically come in.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, still waking up almost every night but I've basically embraced it as my routine. I guess I'm preparing to be woken up in the middle of the night by baby.
Rants/Raves: Over the past week or so I sometimes feel fairly confident that I can feel Baby? Kind of like "gas bubbles" but a little more subtle? It's mostly at night just after I've gotten in bed. But last night I was pretty sure I felt movement and then as the night went on it was like, nope pretty sure that's gas.
Questions: Nope
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? I started a book by the host of one of my favorite podcasts (You Must Remember This, about Hollywood history). It's called Seduction and it's about the film director Howard Hughes and all the affairs he had with actresses. I was obsessed with classic movies as a teenager and am convinced this author/host invented my dream job and then stole it from me, haha (but she's really good at it so I can't be mad). For baby/pregnancy books I want to get The Happiest Baby on the Block and Bringing Up Bebe does sound good @lavenderclouds ! I don't know if I'd end up doing everything she recommends but it does sound like good input to incorporate.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! My biggest complaint is actually energy levels.
Rants/Raves: Baby kicks are probably my favorite thing about pregnancy and despite an anterior placenta, I get some every now and then!
Questions: Any ideas to liven up this board? Its a ghost town in here!
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? I haven’t been reading anything lately. I have a big stack I want to tackle. Probably should get on that.
@carleym93 I know! I like that it's a small group but it does get quiet. We should do more daily threads, I love Meal Plan Monday! We could do WTF Wednesday (I'm sure we could all use a b*tch session at least once a week!) along with Bump Day. I've been slacking on posting Fit Fri-yay, and another good Friday one could be FFFC (flame free confessions) - I think we've had that once or twice and it can spice things up! Also Unpopular Opinion Thursday was something we did on TTGP...sometimes it can be a little redundant with FFFC but we could try this week!
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out later today or tomorrow!!!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: An Apple!

How are you feeling?: pretty good!

GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now?
I just read “The Family Upstairs” by Lisa Jewell I read it cover to cover last Thursday SO good! I like most of her books & anything by Ruth Ware! My current read is “The woman in the window” by Aj Finn
How are you feeling?: Overall I’ve been feeling well though I’ve been super tired today.
Rants/Raves: Just a quick note to say I really like this group we have here. It’s nice and small and everyone is so kind. I love the bump pictures people are posting and look forward to the new weekly topics you ladies are thinking of trying out.
Questions: Nothing at the moment
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? No leisure reading for this mama lately. Just reading lots of board books with my toddler. Lol
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Pomegranate
Upcoming appointments: Next Thursday for anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: Fine; though tonight when I sneezed it felt like I pulled a muscle in my abdomen. So that's special. I also need to pee a lot.
Rants/Raves: I'm hungry a lot now, especially at night, but I'm trying so hard not to eat so close to bedtime because of acid reflux. It's such a conundrum.
Questions: Does anyone else feel little rolls? Like someone is doing somersaults in there? I know our babies are still small, but I swear sometimes (a couple of times a day on some days) I feel that.
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? I used to be an avid reader before having a kid. Right now I have How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen and Oh Crap! I Have a Toddler in rotation on my nightstand. I haven't read in weeks, though. I gotta get back into it! Also my husband got me some fiction books for my birthday (in February...) that I should probably get around to reading.
@amm126 I hope you feel better and get some relief soon! @whitealbum29 I like all of those ideas.
@supersara2 I loved Talk So Little Kids Will Listen! That and Janet Lansbury’s work totally changed my parenting and made it into such a joyful experience.

How are you feeling?: Really well for most of the day, and I’m so grateful for that. I have lots of aches and pain by the end of the day so I’m trying to listen to my body and take it easy (as much as that’s possible with a 3-year old)
Rants/Raves: I also love this group, it’s quiet but everyone is so kind and generous. My previous bmb was an amazing source of support but there was also a lot of drama. Also my belly finally popped for real and I feel so pretty
Questions: none right now
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now?
Oh man I haven’t read something new in a while. Last one was the latest Stormlight Archive book (I’m a big Brandon Sanderson fan and love and fantasy books in general). I also used to be such an intense reader before kids, now it feels so exhausting.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: cucumber
Upcoming appointments: nothing until the end of August
How are you feeling?: huge already. Trying to really watch my nutrition because I’m not liking how fast I’m creeping up. Other than that still some hit and miss nausea that effects my food tolerances
Rants/Raves: I started a new workout program that I’m really enjoying. Other than that same old.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a magic 8 ball
Upcoming appointments: a week from today. My OB practice has given me a choice each time to do virtual or in office and I keep choosing in office but wondering how a telehealth visit would work? I think i'd still like the reassurance of an in person visit, even though it is a pain around my work schedule.
How are you feeling?: so. flipping. hungry
Rants/Raves: I wish I looked pregnant instead of just bloated
Questions: see above about telehealth
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? I love to read most nights before bed. My recent favorite was Oona Out of Order.
@lacroixliz my telehealth appointments have been chit chats and discussion of exams, things to look out for over the next few weeks, etc. I’ve appreciated them because it saves me time driving into the office, and these in-between appointments don’t add much if they’re in person (at least with my OB).
@lacroixliz my office also could do telehealth visits but my doctor said there wouldn't be much point besides saying "hey how are you" at all of my appointments they check urine, blood pressure, fetal HB, and measure my belly which is what would catch something if there was a problem. I think if you had a conflict then doing an occasional telehealth visit could help
@jumpy57 We haven't done product spotlights yet but YES we definitely should! I started adding a couple things to a baby registry but panicked when I got to strollers and car seats and have been refusing to look at it for like a week haha. Why can't there just be one perfect car seat?! Anyway -- I found this spreadsheet on the March 2021 board with a schedule for products...we have a bit of a late start and I haven't looked closely at it yet but we should definitely start posting them! Will look more this evening! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IrF0iah5XaJFdFTHzNVcIEq4ujZTwq_j1bG9W-bovNs/edit#gid=0
@amm126 I hope the ear infection resolves! That's the worst. @supersara2 I've had that muscle-pulling feeling when sneezing and getting up too, I feel like it's round ligament pain? @happyfeet34 Ooh what workout program did you find? @lacroixliz I think I would do in person when possible, maybe I would opt for telehealth if there was a big local outbreak or something. But yeah it does seem like being there is important so they can get a look at you! It's nice that they offer it if you have a conflict tho!
@whitealbum29 I normally really like strength training, but I find that lifting makes me so nauseous still. I started the new beach body Barre program and it’s been really nice. Way more low key than I’m used to but great on my hips and keeping me moving.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a sweet potato? Might be making that up. Starting to feel some movement so however big that is.
Upcoming appointments: I'm cheap and our new insurance doesn't kick in until Sept 1 so anatomy scan Sept 1 at almost 23 weeks.
How are you feeling?: Not terrible. Thanks second trimester.
Rants/Raves: I was fairly active the first few weeks here, then fell off the planet in June when we moved cross country. Things are starting to settle down so thought I'd hop back around! Also we're starting virtual learning tomorrow for my 7 and 8 year old so FML.
Questions:
GTKY: I think we've only talked about pregnancy-related books so far...what other book(s) have you read lately and/or what are you reading now? Just finished listening to Untamed by Glennon Doyle and enjoyed it. A little long and meandering, but she made some excellent points and gave me lots of food for thought.
