Re: Healthy Habits w/o 7/27

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? It's Week 3 of Whole30 and I'm really finding my groooooove. I'm so surprised with how much energy I have without snacking. On the fitness side of things, I'm aiming for closing all 3 of my Apple Watch rings every day until end of Jul. I've really struggled w/ fitness since end of May, totally stopping running and yoga. I'm hoping to regain some fitness momentum from here on out.

How's everything going? Other than not being motivated to work out, things are OK.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? Motivated == eating health; still struggling with figuring out how to fit physical activity into my schedule, so setting a small goal (closing all my AW rings through until Aug 1).

What's a "small win" you have from last week? Hiked a 7mi "moderate" difficulty trail yesterday, and I'm surprised that I'm not in too much pain today.

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? yoga 3x a week, drinking less soda

How's everything going? I don't think I've done yoga for over a week. Whoops. Did a quick one with DH last that was mainly just stretching. That boy can't even touch his toes. I think I'm falling off the bandwagon again with not having so much soda. It's just been a weird month overall.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? Considering how sore I am from all of this weekend's weeding, I'm definitely thinking about picking yoga back up to get in better shape!

What's a "small win" you have from last week? I honestly might not have one  :#  I at least thought about yoga. Does that count?  :D

    @acleverusername week 3? That's awesome!  I didn't get past READING about Whole30 lol

@inthewoods23 At least you thought about it, I think that counts. Sometimes we have those weeks. This is what I thought of when you mentioned YH  :D

The Big Bang Theory toe touch This is one of my favorite episodes I even used it for class

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? Spinning 5x this week, tracking all my food, getting 8hrs of sleep, getting more omega 3s

How's everything going? Pretty good now that the clomid is done

What has you motivated or struggling this week? MH has been doing great with his exercise, so that is definitely motivating for me.

What's a "small win" you have from last week? I FINALLY lost the weight that I held onto for a month after that wacky cycle
  • Jumping in here to hold myself accountable! The week is halfway over...

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? I want to hit 70,000 steps this week, but have not been getting my 10,000 per day this week so it will be a challenge to get those added steps in over the next 4 days.

How's everything going?  Things have been great! But this week has been a bit busy with work on the computer, so I haven't moved my body as much as I had planned to.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? MH went walking with me for a couple miles on the beach the other day, and we both did some sets of push-ups against some boulders.  It felt great at the time, but now I am SO sore! My whole upper body feels like dead weight this morning. So it's a win and a struggle haha.

What's a "small win" you have from last week? Last week was the best in awhile! I was determined to lose the 6 pounds I had gained from just 2.5 weeks of BCP (!!) so I made sure to exercise almost everyday.  I hit 74,000 steps and have now lost 5 pounds of the weight.  So I really need to get back on track this week to keep up the momentum. I also want to get into fertility yoga this week...

@acleverusername Congrats on sticking with Whole30! How are you doing with the fitness component?

@inthewoods23 Too funny about YH & the stretching. At least he did it with you! How are you doing with the yoga & soda this week? (I feel like that annoying friend or mosquito in your ear.)

@bbrahmbhatt Love the meme. :) I swear all men are inflexible like that. Yay for being so consistent with your workouts & healthy eating. Congrats on the weight loss--hard work pays off!

@keikilove walking on the beach sounds lovely. We're about a 20-30 min drive to the beach but they're terrified of tourists coming and driving their numbers up so have lots of restrictions around parking and being on the beach. What is fertility yoga? I mean, I did a quick google and it seems like there are good poses to try out, etc. but do you recommend a specific page or youtube video? The core program I'm doing has various flows and such that focus on the core so very yoga-esque and I know yoga is supposed to help destress and research shows it can help with fertility but I hadn't heard of specific fertility yoga.

@bbrahmbhatt Jealous of those who have spin bikes at home! I want one when we have a bigger space. We keep putting off moving lol (planning to move across the country which will be a big change but we've been saying 2 more years for the past 6 and had just gotten serious right before covid)

@inthewoods23 if thinking about yoga involved *any* meditation, then it counts  :D

@acleverusername we've been doing meal delivery kits to avoid the grocery store as much and I just decided to switch from Home Chef (which has been great) to SunBasket so that we can get organic and/or pasture-raised/grass fed produce and proteins since that has been what I've gravitated towards for the past few years when I can. I am NOT planning to do Whole 30 but I'm excited for the slightly healthier focus on these meals. They are the one to go with if you are doing anything like Paleo, Whole 30, Gluten or Dairy Free, Vegan, etc. since they have lots of options for those types of things. Anyways, I was thinking of the ladies on here doing Whole 30 while I was choosing the meals. Home Chef has been driving me crazy with some ingredients that make me cringe (like the canola oil for pan frying things) and knowing their meat is not the quality I usually seek out.

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? running 5x, core work 3x

How's everything going? on track with my running, have only done one day of core work

What has you motivated or struggling this week? Finding the time and not being dead tired at the end of the day is hard - mostly with the core stuff. My original goal the first time I filled out a healthy habits thread was to do core work 7x (b/c they're short - 10-20mins) but that is NOT happening.

What's a "small win" you have from last week? One 30 minute core session but I did great with the running!

  • @inthewoods23 weeding is exercise! I'm actually pretty sure it falls in the "moderate exercise" category, and hence optimal for TTC.

@bbrahmbhatt LOL @ not getting through the rules of Whole30. Yeah, it can be overwhelming but I have good motivation... I've read that it can help with Hashimoto's and well, that reason enough for me. DH was doing it with me until today, when I "allowed" him to have pizza after his fainting incident at the blood lab. He'll restart it though; he's been losing weight on it, and wearing all his "beautiful people clothes" (stuff he used to wear when he was much skinnier; that has been collecting dust for many years now), so he's super motivated to continue eating well. Good for you for doing so much spinning! And seeing results! Keep it up.

@keikilove 70,000 steps! 74,000 steps?! Holy hell, that's some pretty good targets. I sit at my computers all day every day hence it's a struggle to get anywhere close to those numbers. I've been true to my small goal of the week and been dragging myself out for 2x 20 min walks each day this week! Just gotta keep it up today, and I'll have reached my goal. Got another 7mi hike planned for tomorrow!

@kvh22 those meals sounds great! Yum! And all that exercise leaves me embarrassed at my small attempts to have some movement in my life. Good for you! I think I'll continue doing Paleo after Whole30 is over. I really like the simple foods we've been eating... It takes almost no time to prep!
