  • Estimated due date (EDD): Nov 12

    Week of pregnancy: 23

Baby is the size of: Eggplant I think?

    Upcoming Appointments: 8/5

Rant/Rave: I’m so stressed out about all the uncertainty that’s happening right now with school, and I wish I could just skip ahead a few weeks. Ugh.

    Questions?

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would own my own preschool with like 8 kids and I’d have it fully decked out with allllll the things and I’d teach in the mornings and it would be sooo fun!

    Rant/Rave: nothing now!

    Questions? Not this time😜

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?
@kitkatz1990 Can I please join you in your preschool!!!! I've been dreaming of revamping an old bus and turning it into an art studio for my dream preschool😍 i would love to have a prechool that is mostly outdoor based where the kids are allowed to take risks (supervised of course), explore and learn in the ways that make sense to them!! I could go on and on but that's for another time😉😁
  • @babywiik YES! I follow this page on Instagram called Friendsartlab and they have the MOST amazing outdoor space and they do so much open-ended art and sensory activities, I just watch their videos and drool!! I’m such a preschool nerd and I’m going to miss it so much! In my free time I read blog posts, follow Instagram accounts and facebook pages of preschool teachers 😂 my husband makes fun of me. As soon as all this Covid nonsense is over I’ve got to get back into pre-K!

@kitkatz1990 I just looked up friendsartlab and I see lots of sensory bin ideas! (I don't have Instagram so could only see the first few pictures🙄) Love sensory bins and in my opinion, a pre-k teacher can never have too many mediums for sensory play! Sometimes I wonder if im overboard passionate when it comes to children and their development😆 yesterday i was playing with my friends 2yr old and commented that she's in the beginning stages of learning 1 to 1 correspondence and my friend was like "I've never heard of that! What is it!" I forget that not everyone understands all the ECE terms that are used😅
Edit: I found their website and I'm impressed! I think I'll change my dream a bit for if money wasnt a problem. I'd love to be able to offer high quality care and experiences to children of low income families. The children who's families don't really have an option for the type of preschool/daycare they attend because affording care at all is a challenge. I know there are a lot of great daycare centers out there in low income areas but there are also many that have completely filled classrooms and revolving door teachers who may or may not have education or the desire to even work in childcare.
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 11/10

Week of pregnancy: 24 weeks today!

Baby is the size of: A cute cuddly big bunny!

Upcoming Appointments: August 13 for the dreaded glucose test and 8000 blood draws. 😑

Rant/Rave: The back pain has been awful this past week! My dr recommended some yoga style stretches and if they don’t help, he will refer me to a PT. I don’t want to do that!

Questions? Not at the moment ✅

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Build a pool and live in it. 😂
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 11/12

    Week of pregnancy: 23

Baby is the size of: Grapefruit

    Upcoming Appointments: July 28th

Rant/Rave: DH grandpa got put on hospice on Friday. He has been in the nursing home for over 10 years. Since corona no one has been allowed to visit. He got an infection in his foot and refused treatment, which has now spread to his organs. No One was notified of this until recently and have got mixed stories. We went to go visit him Saturday and it was the saddest experience. We had to talk to him through the window. No one was allowed in to hold his hand. They are making him die alone! As of Saturday he had two negative corona tests. Yesterday, Monday, they said he tested positive. 😡😡 They are lying to get more money!
Why would they test him again if he has just had two negative tests?
Why are the wasting money and resources to test someone who is on hospice?
Why in the F does he still have a roommate if he is positive!
They won’t give anyone a straight story and we are not allowed in, it’s so awful to see DH family go through this. They are also saying the hospital is full so he has to stay in the nursing home. I’m ready to call a lawyer to see if they have any legal grounds to keep them out, but it’s not my place. F U Corona! I think the family is all in agreement that he had put in his time on earth and they are accepting of his choice, but not letting him live his last moments surrounded by his family is not ok.

We also have vacation that’s been planned and paid for since January on this Thursday, but that’s all up in the air at this point.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Well right now, I could use a damn drink!!
For real though... I would help DH open his dream restaurant.

Estimated due date (EDD): Nov 10-14

    Week of pregnancy: 23 - 24

Baby is the size of: An ear of corn

    Upcoming Appointments: August 11th

Rant/Rave: Rant - I've been so congested for the last couple months and my OB said it's pretty normal... but the last couple days have been terrible! I'm already not sleeping well and now halfway through the night I get so stuffed up I can't breathe!!!!!  Rave - This weekend going to visit some family an 8 hr drive away, and have been told to bring the truck because my sister-in-law has a pile of baby stuff for us!!  The last couple weeks I've been getting our spare bedroom read to be a baby room/spare room and it's exciting to start getting all the baby stuff ready!

    Questions? Why can't I breathe?!?!?!?!?

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?  I would travel!!!

@potofgolden So sorry to hear about DH's grandpa, and so frustrating to have to go through all of that.

  • @potofgolden thats terrible about your husband's grandpa! Nurses wear protective gear when caring for corona patients so if they insist a patient has corona, especially one who doesn't have much longer left on earth, they should find ways for the patients family to visit safely! Sending thoughts and hugs to all those involved♡
  • @babywiik my other favorite is Pocket of Preschool, I sit and watch her old Facebook Live videos while I fold laundry. 🤣 I have spent hundreds of dollars on her resources and incorporate tons of her ideas in my classroom.

Sensory play is the best and has SO many benefits! Plus you can easily sneak in math and literacy skills and they don’t even use it. I could not live without my play-dough trays and my sensory bins. If I’d decided to work this year, I was going to make each child their own separate sensory materials because so can’t live without it!

Alright all we need to do know is win the lottery and open up our amazing center! I’d love to serve low-income families! The centers in my area that serve low-income families are really poor quality.

@1MommyRunner I have Glo.com subscription that I use for Yoga because they have a lot of prenatal classes. It really helps with my back (SI joint issues here).
@potofgolden I am really sorry that is stuff. I work for SNF and sometimes doctors demand their residents get tested, but at the facilities I work, they are in constant contact with RP about what is going on so that sounds terrible.
@mia80 I get the worse congestion during pregnancy. Constantly stopped up!

    Estimated due date (EDD): 11/12

    Week of pregnancy: 23wk 5days

Baby is the size of: Grapefruit

Upcoming Appointments: 6/30 GTT and doc visit

Rant/Rave: I want all the sweet things today. I haven't wanted sweet things this pregnancy until now.

    Questions? none...

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would go work with the local juvenile diabetes association at no cost and provide nutrition services for them.

    Estimated due date (EDD): 11/8

    Week of pregnancy: 24

Baby is the size of: a Chips Ahoy tray

Upcoming Appointments: highlights of next month’s appointment with the midwife will include the glucose test (luckily I can just drink juice instead of the Glucola) and checking hemoglobin. I’m a bit nervous about the hemoglobin one because I was anemic at week 7. :|

Rant/Rave: Rant- covid. A few nights ago I dreamed I was eating in a restaurant with friends. It was so normal! Except maybe for the sushi platter for dessert...

Questions? I wish I could rub my belly like a magical lamp and have it tell me what my stretch mark situation will be in a year... but no answerable questions.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I might start a farm with amazing heirloom varieties and animals and it would be so beautiful people would want to have weddings there. And I would have employees so I didn’t have to go outside in the heat. (And I’d definitely hook you ladies up with delicious fresh food @potofgolden @babywiik@kitkatz1990, and @mtengl for your projects!)
  • @csardaszz having a farm sounds really fun and good thing for employees because farming I imagine is a lot if hard work😅 @kitkatz1990 and I will bring our preschoolers to your farm so they can learn all about planting, harvesting and taking care of animals first hand 😁 then we'll go eat at @potofgolden's restaurant so they can see how the food comes from the farm and is then prepared and served! Too bad we didnt all live in the same town and these dreams could be reality 😍😉

    Estimated due date (EDD): 11/9

    Week of pregnancy: 24wks + 4 days

Baby is the size of: a cantaloupe

Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test next month, sounds fun 😬

Rant/Rave: I had been sleeping like shit until I bought a pregnancy pillow! It is amazing! Kinda pricy (I'm cheap) at $60 but well worth it!!

Questions? Just worried about this stupid virus and delivery.... Will husband or family be allowed in delivery room? What about visitors after the baby is born?

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Open my own private and Language clinic for adults and children!
  • First of all, sorry I was MIA the last two weeks. 😬 honestly just got caught up with the nice weather here and took a hiatus from electronics/social media.
@1MommyRunner I have an account with DownDog. It’s an app (can also be on computers) for yoga. They recently made a prenatal yoga app too (literally right before we all got pregnant so it was perfect) and that’s what I have been doing. You can pick the length of time you want to practice and everything. It’s led by voice and video demo.
@potofgolden I am so so sorry to hear you and your husband are going through all that. I’m astonished that they are keeping family away at such a critical time. I wish I had some sort of advice or words of wisdom but I don’t...ready to be a sounding board for any and all venting though! Did your vacation end up working out???

Estimated due date (EDD): still 11/11

    Week of pregnancy: 24+4

Baby is the size of: Atlantic Puffin 🐧 (also read that she weighs as much as an NBA basketball!)

Upcoming Appointments: In my hiatus, I had my f/u u/s and everything looks great! I also had my 24 week midwife visit IN PERSON (exciting!) and was told my bump is tiny but right on track. I have the 1hour GST sometime next week or the week after (I just walk into the lab whenever I can) and a 28 week midwife follow up on 8/21. THEN I get another bonus u/s on 8/28 to make sure my placenta is migrating north and not staying by my cervix 🤞

Rant/Rave: Mixed between the two - the weather in Washington has finally warmed up to the 70s/80s!!! I have been getting out daily after work for a walk around this 3 mile trail by my house! It’s so nice! I also took a break from all socials and I feel so much happier. Tomorrow is supposed to bring a heat wave (high of 96!) so really thankful for AC tomorrow!

Questions?: Gonna save it for tomorrow’s check in since I’m so late to this one.

GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day?: Definitely travel and try all the foods! I love everyone’s answers and I feel like most were very philanthropic 😂 guess I’m selfish.

@lovelee3 Glad to hear everything looked good at your f/u. And I'm with you... Everyone else in week 2 is a much better human being than me... I would travel if money was no object! 🤣

@mwagensomer the GTT isn't tooooo bad, I actually got one my first pregnancy that tasted like a green ice pop which I had been craving... As for the COVID and delivery that is my biggest freak out right now. Right now we are in a hotspot and when I go to my appointment this week I am going to have a billion questions about it. My friend delivered yesterday. A lot of hospitals are letting the partner in only, even after delivery. I would just ask your doctor what the current protocol is but as always everything can change still...
