Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Thursday 7.23

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. CD: 17 🤬

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, CM, CP, BBT, HIO EOD/ED

R/R: Still here.... 🙄 at least the OPKs started getting darker. Hoping for a positive today/tonight! I also was dumb and made an appointment for 8am today which required an alarm. Why would I do that to myself?!?

CS/Q: everything looks good for O today, minus the positive OPK. 🙄 I keep drinking super dehydrating things so that I don’t have a diluted sample.

    New to the dailies 😊

@chindimples04 FX for your positive OPK! I usually wake up around 5, so 8 AM sounds glorious to me... 😂

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: charting, starting OPKs this month

R/R: I have a dentist appt today... I have bad teeth as it is, but during quarantine I had 3 fillings fall out, so this is going to be a rough one

CS/Q: this is my first full month charting and only my 2nd off BC so I’m still getting used to my temps. Anyone else’s temps stay high during their period?

Edit: can’t get my chart to show on my phone, will try from computer later
  • @chindimples04 glad your OPKs are finally starting to get darker. FX for O tonight!

@fameonmain2 welcome! Good luck at the dentist. No part of that sounds pleasant.

    Month/Cycle: 13/8

    CD: 20

WAYDTGKU: benched for a few more days

R/R: I have nothing exciting going on today. Just another boring Thursday at home. I started an art project that is due back to the library on Monday that I'm hopefully going to try and finish today. Otherwise, my life is pretty boring these days. I'm anxious to know what to expect for the upcoming school year so that I can see least start to plan. If we're distance learning, I can still sing with my kids but if we're leaning in person, I have to completely rethink my whole curriculum which involves a lot of singing, movement, and instruments and isn't conducive to social distancing protocols.

    CS/Q:
  • @chindimples04 I feel your pain! My OPK was the exact same as yesterday! So annoying.

@fameonmain2 yikes! Good luck with the dentist. That sounds rough. My temps usually take a while during/after my period to full regulate back to pre-O baseline.

@gingermama29 I hope you’re able to come up with a good plan for the school year. Our preliminary school plan is calling for all specials being in the classroom so students can basically just stay in one spot all day. I don’t know how you guys are going to to it!

    Month/Cycle: 8/8

    CD: 20

WAYDTGKU: temping, tracking CM, OPKs, PNV, baby aspirin, progesterone after O

R/R: One of the nurse practitioners at my RE office called me yesterday with some of my bloodwork results. Apparently my TSH is slightly high (still within the “normal” range, but higher than the recommendation for TTC). Google tells me that even slightly elevated levels can impact fertility, which is interesting. So she started me on levothyroxine which should hopefully help even out my levels. It actually made me slightly happy for another long cycle because it can take a while to work. I figure even if it doesn’t help this cycle maybe I’ll be in a better place for next month! Also DH’s SA came back and the results were good! So I feel like we are definitely making some progress over here.

CS/Q: check out this consistency! I honestly don’t think my pre-O temps have ever looked like this.

  • ugh i promised myself i'd be on here this week more...maybe next week!!!

    @chindimples04 Fx for O!

@fameonmain2 GL at the dentist today. i never enjoy that! ive actually started going 3x/yr for cleanings because it made them more bearable going every 4 months instead of 6 months. also havent gotten cavities since i started doing that a few years ago!

@gingermama29 i cant imagine sitting and waiting for a decision to be made.  the schools near me are all starting to announce their plans, most involve half days but all have some in-person aspects

@runningoncookies so great the SA came back good and that there is an "easy" fix for your TSH.  years ago i was on that (i was also only very slightly off) and i found it made a difference in my energy levels.  it wound up being back in normal range and i stopped taking the medication.  Fx that does the trick for you!  also i am channeling your temp stability this cycle, since mine was super wacky last month

    Month/Cycle: 7/7 since loss

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: prenatals, temping, OPKs, conceive+.  did proov last cycle, but probably wont this month.  got CD3 labs done this AM

R/R: this whole week has been jam-packed with work!  i've also been cleaning and picking up shifts at the restaurant because i start going into the office Monday.  otherwise life is pretty boring right now.  I've actually not been thinking about TTC much these past two weeks because i knew our timing sucked last cycle and that i had the testing the "look forward to" this cycle.  not that i want to be overthinking everything again, but i need to get my head back in it so i can get DH on board with our timing

    CS/Q: nothing to share yet

  • @runningoncookies happy to hear you have a good fix for your TSH and YH's SA was normal! Glad you're feeling like progress is being made!

@asf0613 yeah it's definitely causing a lot of anxiety. I honestly think that even if they decide to do school in person, it's only a matter of time before everything shuts down again. I'm grateful to be in NY where the virus is largely under control right now though. When will you get your results from CD 3 testing?
  • @gingermama29 yes im in NJ and i think we're in the same boat.  i think everyone is just weary of a second shutdown.  they say 2 days so i am assuming Monday! I'm in this weird headspace that of course i don't want anything to be wrong and would never wish for it, but at the same time if there is something worth addressing, it will be a sense of validation that i truly am doing everything i can to advocate for myself and have success.  what a mind@#$%
  • kvh22kvh22 member
@chindimples04 hoping you ovulate soon! if you don't normally drink dehydrating things, you might be messing with your results. As someone who has always had fluctuating FP lengths when TTC, it's annoying but you can't speed it along so just try to keep doing what you're doing and get good data in case you need it for future cycles (hopefully not). I've O'ed on CD 37, 30, 14, and 19 while TTC. It's great to be able to go back and see a pattern without trying to alter the results.

@fameonmain2 good luck at the dentist. You can see in my chart below (in spoiler) that mine stayed high although I didn't temp every day during it.

@gingermama29 that's got to be tough to be so up in the air with school plans. You obviously need time to prep.

    @runningoncookies yay for some answers!

@asf0613 I'm sure it's both good and bad to be busy right now. Nice to be distracted but obviously don't want to miss anything important.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: BBT, PNVs + a few other supplements, OPKs, Proov strips, HIO every 24-36hrs (missed last night but made this morning work 😂 I don't even think I'm in my FW yet but timing wasn't great last cycle so I don't want to mess it up again)

R/R: my work laptop won't charge anymore. I was able to get it at just the right spot after trying for hours yesterday and got it full but I couldn't get oin my computer most of the day yesterday so am essentially working from my phone. They're overnighting me a new charger but by the time I harassed them enough since they weren't responding to my help ticket, it didn't go out yesterday AND the guy I was talking to thinks it's the port on the computer, not the charger so I have to wait until tmrw to figure that out and then probably need a refurbished computer. This one is only 1.5years old. Anyways, I'm saving my actual work and calls for when I turn on my laptop.

CS/Q: do you use Mon or OPK in FF? I feel like I like the option of low, high, and peak but not sure of I should just be using the -/+ instead since I'm using cheapies.
I also paid the $20 for 3 months of VIP with the free upgrade to a year so I did chart duo with my RHR. What else should I be utilizing to get th most out of VIP?
    CS/Q:

    Babysizer Cravings Pregnancy Baby Tracker

  • @kvh22  I almost never drink water. 🤣 I live in fountain soda, juice, Gatorade zero, and bubbl’r. I’m just worried that if I start drinking water that it will dilute my urine and I’ll miss something. Lol.
@asf0613 hopefully your Cd3 labs reveal some good information!
@runningoncookies Yayy for answers and progress! Those consistent temps are impressive!
@gingermama29 I am on the same boat about wanting to know fall plans. Our health department says not more than 15 people, yet my roster is slated at 23. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just want answers.
@fameonmain2 welcome! Since your account is new, you won’t be able to tag or add pictures for 72 hours. My temp is usually high the first day of my period and then drops back down on CD2.

  • @chindimples04 Good to know about the tagging/pics! I guess I'll have to respond tagless-ly!

@gingermama29 I'm an educator, too, and I feel you 100% on school. We have no idea what's happening.

@runningoncookies yay for the good news on SA & hope the levothyroxine works quickly!

@asf0613 I wish my insurance would pay for the extra cleaning a year. I have to get so much work done. Not thinking so much about TTC will hopefully make it seem like O arrives quicker!

@kvh22 thanks for sharing your chart - it made me feel better about the high temp! That stinks about your laptop - hopefully it's only the cord..
  • @chindimples04 hope O comes tonight!

@fameonmain2 I hope the dentist was able to fix all your problems without too much discomfort.

@gingermama29 I hope you get some answers on what your school year will look like soon.

@runningoncookies I hope you finally have an answer and this helps you move forward.

@asf0613 I hope you get a break before you go back to work on Monday!

@kvh22 ugh, tech problems are the worst, especially when you're working from home!

    Month/Cycle: 3/3 take two?

R/R: I have a family member having surgery on Monday, so I spent the day on the phone with hospital reps and the insurance company. Everyone was nice, but it's a lot to work through! I'll be glad when it's done on Monday!

CS/Q: not much to show at this point.

Gonna lurk for a week or so while my cycle gets going.

@runningoncookies my TSH came back at 3.36 and the OB also started me on levothyroxine. Are you taking 50mg? Curious... does she want you to re-take the blood test in a few weeks?

@gingermama29 I don't think know... are you on BC for your cycle to regulate, assuming that it will return to normal for a few cycles so you can leverage that for TTC?

  • @chindimples04 yeah my OB put me on it to balance hormones. I have PCOS and my cycle before going on it was 100 days long. I was nearly 50 days into the next cycle with no sign of O when I started BC. I have never had regular cycles in my life so the hope is the BC can get my hormones balanced and make TTC easier and more successful. If I'm not successful, I have to go back on it for another 3 months and then we look into medicated cycles.

@kvh22 ugh that's so frustrating about your computer. I hope it gets resolved quickly.

@DoubleUp8 sending positive vibes for your family member's surgery. I hope everything goes smoothly!
  • @gingermama29 got it. I hope this works for you!

  • @acleverusername my TSH came back at 4.0 and they started me on 50mcg of levothyroxine. She said they will want to check my levels in about a month to see how they’ve changed.
  • @runningoncookies that sounds like the right thing to do (getting it re-checked in a month). The OB at my clinic told me to go see an endocrinologist. 😆😭 That was the final straw with that clinic (which was a NEW clinic for me since I just moved; and I only went there because my best friend is a patient and said nothing but great things about her OB... whom I couldn't get in with for 2 months, so I only saw her NP and this other OB.)
