  • @moguippy so excited to have a little gender reveal for you guys soon! So glad everything came back great with your NIPT results.

@babymamadimo we thought about a minivan for the economy of it—better gas mileage ((slightly)) and a lower price than most 3rd Row SUVs we were looking at—and the Pacifica is what I would have picked. Go for the touring level if you can, so that the vacuum is included in the back of it. 😂
  • @babymamadimo we are also starting the search for a third row car! Neither of us has ever gotten a new car in our whole relationship (11 years). 😳
  • @birdiejo I’m glad the bleeding stopped. What is a Roborock?
  • @mdfarmchick a vacuum sounds amazing for dog hair and toddler snacks!
  • @birdiejo apparently everything I typed out didn’t go through! I am kind of forced into getting a bigger vehicle because my husband is so tall. Once we have 2 car seats he won’t be able to fit at all! Right now he has to either drive or sit in the back with our son haha I really hate car shopping though!
  • @mdfarmchick it’s a robot vacuum , like a roomba just a different brand!
  • @adorebel congratulations! Boys are super fun! Yay for all the good news at your appointment!
  • How far along are you? 12+2

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Still nauseous! My friend sent me her doppler and I was able to find baby's heartbeat yesterday so I'm feeling awesome! Such a relief after having a nightmare the other day

    Any upcoming appointments? Friday!

GTKY: What is your favorite item you’ve bought this year?
I got into woven baby wraps this past year and love them for carrying my 1.5 year old. Can't wait to use them in the new baby!
  • How far along? 9+6

How are you feeling? My nausea was really bad over the weekend, but yesterday and today it’s been really good. So I’m more anxious suddenly because I can’t enjoy a good thing apparently.

Next appointment: in two weeks for a regular ob checkup. Since I’m in a rural area, there’s no NIPT or nuchal screening unless you decide to fly up to Anchorage for it.

Favorite purchase this year: we bought a house back in April, which I love and it’s perfect. But honestly I’m most excited about the banjo that I bought and arrived yesterday. 😂

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?
Physically fine. Breasts can still be sensitive at times, and I'll still randomly have a flare up of cramps every once in a while, but no bleeding. Insomnia last night was fun, hopefully that was just a one-off and not something new to look forward to.  Emotionally/Mentally my interactions with my OB's office are really draining me. For those that didn't see it elsewhere:
-My NIPT came back with insufficient DNA after being out for more than 2 weeks, so I had to re-test and start the wait over again. (Hello, anxiety). Because the cause of our MMC was chromosomal, I've been specifically waiting to tell anybody that we didn't absolutely have to about this pregnancy until our NIPT gets back. So...more waiting and diverting questions from my parents. Joy.
-My midwife keeps trying to refer me to the high-risk clinic that gave me incorrect test results in our last pregnancy and were super unprofessional about it when they got called on it, and they actually went so far as to schedule appointments on my behalf after I told three separate staff members that I'm NOT going.
-I logically know its better to be safe than sorry, but I'm feeling miffed about having to check my blood sugar 4x per day when all of my post-meal readings so far have been well under what they want them to be. My highest # has still been over 25 pts under their max, and out side of that one number the rest have all been 31-48 pts under. My job won't allow me to keep my Glucometer in the building where I work, so I have to get to work even earlier every day to check out a locker in a different building and then go there during my 2 qty 15-minute breaks to check my blood. It's just annoying. Also, I'm so over the finger sticks at this point.

    Any upcoming appointments?
My next regularly scheduled appointment is on 8/3, at which point I should be 13+2. It's just a general office visit with my OB (first time meeting her) but no ultrasound until end of September/early October for the anatomy scan.

GTKY: What is your favorite item you’ve bought this year? We bought a house with a boat right before Christmas, so probably that ;) Honestly I've been dumping all of my money into paint, door knobs, cabinet hardware, new furniture, etc. it's hard to remember if I've bought anything fun and not practical in 2020.

  • @hannahbananas11 my symptoms have been super inconsistent. From day to day and from week to week. I totally understand how that messes with one’s mind.

@WildMagelet that is a major bummer about testing at work. Can you ask your OB if you can test every other day for now?  My OB let me do that last time since my numbers were fine. Or ask if you can redo the 3hour test?

@WildMagelet that seems so disrespectful to me on the midwife’s part. Surely she’s aware of your previous loss, and she should be willing to refer you to a different practice since you had such a bad experience with that specific one. I hope she gets more on board with things as this pregnancy progresses.

    ETA autocorrect issue. 🙄
  • @moguippy - I figure I'll take my numbers in for my next appointment (I'll have been checking them 3x/day for over 2 weeks straight at that point) and go over the info and then see how things are going to progress. If my numbers stay level I see no point in continuing to test as frequently. I'm going to try to find out if what the plan is if my numbers remain good, and for how long, to either cut down the testing or get rid of it completely. If we're still going at that point, I may request another GTT around the same point that normal PG would have their test, between 24-28 wks.

@hannahbananas11 - I had an issue with her my last PG too, but I've been honestly trying to give her a shot. On the plus side, they responded to my message and gave me a couple options of other MFM clinics in our region, so score +1 for them for having the right response.

Also, my one co-worker recommended her OB/Gyn to me and gave her a raving review and the names of a few other co-workers that utilize her, so if I decide I just can't handle it anymore at the one in town I've already got an option to look at another 40 miles down the interstate.

  • So I got my fetal Doppler today and I swear it is my heartbeat that I am finding. I am 12+1 so I thought it would be easy to find. My mind after mmc is going straight to negatives. I do feel like I have more energy and less nausea this week, but also I’m so close to the 2nd trimester. Anxiety after loss is the worst!!!
  • @babymamadimo that’s why I haven’t bought one. My OBs ((all four that I’ve ever had over 6 pregnancies)) agree that it is super hard to find before 14ish weeks 😑 I hope you don’t stress too much.
  • @mdfarmchick I think I am going to put it away and not try to use it again for at least a week. My husband thinks it was a terrible purchase 😬
  • @WildMagelet I’m sorry it’s been so stressful for you! With my son I ended up driving 42 miles to my midwife and hospital because we lived in a middle of nowhere town and I didn’t feel good about delivering there. I also wanted a midwife which wasn’t possible there. It wasn’t terrible to drive at all but it was a close call for delivery haha!

@babymamadimo - Sorry it's stressing you out! My previous OB told me she hated dopplers, because if the patient couldn't find the heartbeat they'd become stressed at minimum or go into full-blown freakout-mode at worst. I had considered purchasing one, but I think I'd just stress myself out with it more by being anxious about checking it frequently.

@birdiejo - Thanks! I used to live in a small town, and know a bunch of people that still have to drive far for an OB (or other specialty doctors), so it almost makes me feel bratty to complain about a 50 minute drive that's mostly interstate.  But TBH, I didn't want to go here in the beginning for fear of running into DH's aunt (who does patient ed now, but also PRNs as L&D nurse), so maybe all of the bad experiences/bad mojo I've had so far are just a sign I should get out before she's helping deliver our baby in February, lol.

  • @babymamadimo yay! Glad you were able to find it! My friend sent her doppler and I tried once at 12+1 and did find the HB but not for a long enough stretch to get a good reading. I think I'll still use it a few times but definitely not frequently
