R/R: it was a nice weekend, but busy with DH out of town. It was so hot, at least for around here, and I am glad it is supposed return to "normal" summer temperatures around here! I only like hot weather when I can be near the water. For day to day life, I prefer cooler weather.

@DoubleUp8 Ditto on your weather feelings! Glad you had a nice weekend too despite the heat!

R/R: I’m pretty sure O was yesterday! Definitely either yesterday or today, but I think I surged overnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning. We’ll have sex tonight and probably tomorrow to be sure. We had a low key weekend, it was unbearably hot out so we mostly stayed inside, but we did go to a local farm and bought some peaches, corn, a peach pie, and cut our own wildflowers. It was so nice to get out of the house and do something! DH grilled the corn last night and it was amazing. Can’t believe it’s Monday again already!

R/R: Last Friday, I decided to drive to my parent's house to visit for a few days. It's slightly cooler here (they live in the mountains), plus it's been a nice change of scenery. I've been running on a different trail every day, which has been delightful. It's also been a good distraction from AF making her appearance this morning!

@mamasloth sorry for AF, but at least you’re somewhere beautiful!

R/R: I am (yet again) so tired this Monday morning! These fun weekends are really taking it out of me lol! We spend literally the whole weekend outside on the beach and it was so so amazing. I got a fairly significant sunburn on Saturday which is pretty painful and not fun today, so I just keep putting on aloe every chance I get! When we got to the beach I realized I forgot my thermometer and PNVs, which was annoying! But I at least had my OPKs so I knew I hadn’t O’d. OPKs are staying fairly light but starting to get some watery CM so I’m hoping for a jump soon.
CS/Q:
@mamasloth Sorry about CD1. Enjoy your time in the mountains. I hope you can recharge a bit.
@runningoncookies Glad you enjoyed your weekend and you at least had OPKs so you knew you hadn't O'd. FX for a jump soon!

@dounleup8 it was so hot and humid here this weekend so I can commiserate some. I’m getting a bit sick of air conditioning.
@bows22 Yayy for O! Hoping to follow you in the next couple days. I think I got my pre-O temp dip today!
@mamasloth their house sounds amazing! We have a lot of bluffs around here but nothing tops a Mountain View. Glad it’s providing some distraction from AF.
@runningoncookies post fun weekend tired is a whole new level! Glad you at least had your OPKs so you didn’t miss out on O!

R/R: Thankfully it’s DHs Friday (he works Thursday-Monday)! I’m a bit lonely during his work week so I’m excited today is his last day for a couple days. Low key day here but it’s supposed to be perfect weather (sunny and 78) so will probably head outside for some mental health recharge!
CS/Q: Hoping today was my pre-o temp dip! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@runningoncookies a weekend on the beach sounds amazing! I’m sorry for the sunburn though!

R/R: I got a paper rejected this morning so I'm a bit down, but I'm going on a trip this week to a state park with family and am very excited to relax and not think about work for a while.
CS/Q: none at the moment, just excited to be here!
@chindimples04 I'm glad YH will be home for a couple of days
@runningoncookies ugh sorry about the sunburn but sounds like a lovely weekend otherwise. I have very fair skin and have been playing around with all of the mineral sunscreens for the past 4 years or so and I feel like they rub off more easily on the edges of my clothes but I've had so many sunburns in my life I've gotten better (but not perfect). DH has gotten 4 sunburns in his life, I think, mostly all closer to the equator and I'm so jealous. They suck.
@mamasloth sorry for CD1 as well. Those trails sound amazing!
@bows22 love the fresh summer produce! It's my favorite time for our farmer's markets (which we're lucky enough to get year round here). We're only supposed to have one person per household go so it's more of a quick "shopping" and less of a fun activity like it used to be, even though it's outside.

R/R: I'm feeling so confused about last cycle still and can't let it go. I know I'm constantly learning but that cycle threw me for a loop with the long LP and not doing OPKs or anything yet. Our weekend was nice but we have such a hard time transition back to the work week. Monday's are hard.
CS/Q: Nothing interesting in my chart yet but I'm curious about the short period this month after a 38 day cycle last month. Seems odd and I feel like I'm going to O early (it was CD19 last month but sometimes is CD14).
When do you start doing OPKs? Do you make sure it's the same time every day to start (when you're just doing once a day)? Is it important to have a certain hour hold? Would love to hear what some people do in terms of once a day (noonish, right, or at least before 4pm?) then when you start to see it get a little darker switch to twice a day (but what times?). I'm such a newb.
@kvh22 so this was my first time using mineral sunscreen! I bought one for my face because I’m sick of face sunscreen making me break out. I feel like I absolutely should’ve reapplied wayyy before I did because my face is very very sunburned. Lesson learned! As far as OPKs - typically I start around CD10 (I’ve O’d anytime between CD14-26). I’m new to doing them twice a day, but what I usually do now is test every morning, then when my CM starts to change (or when I get impatient and think I can just magically make O happen) I start testing when I wake up, then again between 1-4ish. I try to aim for a 4 hour hold but it’s hard for me to limit my water intake. That’s why I test in the morning. It’s very different for everyone! The way I do it now is totally different than when I started because I found what works for me and when/how I’m most likely to see my LH surge.
@runningoncookies I always feel like I have to apply a TON of mineral sunscreen to get the same coverage and it's kinda gross feeling. Sorry about the sunburn -- not a good feeling.
ETA: Thanks @runningoncookies and @kapeed09 for the info on OPKs. I don't think I can do a 4hr hold in the middle of the day with how much water I drink so I'm trying to figure out if I should just do FMU or do middle of the day and try to hold it if I can.
@kvh22 I try to start OPKs on CD10 or when my CM starts to change. I do once a day in the morning. Then if they haven’t gotten darker by CD 13-14 I switch to twice a day (morning and evening like after work time). I’ve always been able to catch my surge that way. I use wondfos.
@kadeephd Paper rejections are hard. Review boards can be brutal. DH is a PhD, so I've seen it first hand. Feel better soon! Have a great trip to the state park!
@kvh22 I hear you on Monday's are hard. Hope your week gets better!

@DoubleUp8 @runningoncookies Thanks for the sympathy on the rejection. This is the second iteration of the paper and second journal that has rejected it. I was feeling good about this round. It's hard not to take it personally. Oh well!
@kvh22 The only mineral sunscreen I have ever liked using on my face is Badger Damascus Rose Sheer Tint Face Sunscreen. I love the way it smells, feels, and looks, but I'm too cheap to buy it regularly.
