Rant/Rave: my husband got to feel a kick this morning! He couldn’t believe it because I’ve told him to put his hand “right here” like a dozen times with no result. Rant is that I’m so sick of all my maternity clothes and need new ones. I ordered some from Seraphine, hoping they work.
Questions? Anyone else’s hips aching? I remember last time telling my doctor that it felt like they were being wrenched apart. Here we are again 😣
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Hmm, maybe plan a home renovation. New bathrooms, hardwood upstairs, indoor and outdoor paint, new fireplace mantle. My house is fine and doesn’t need any big renovations, but if I’m pretending I have unlimited funds why not 😆.
Rant/Rave: We had the fetal echocardiogram this morning and everything looked good! It was also the first time, DH has gotten to come to an appointment with me for this pregnancy, so that was awesome. ALSO it's the first time we've been away from our two older kiddos since March, so the hour drive, hour appointment, and hour drive home legit felt like a mini vacation.
Questions? Nothing today.
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? For a job? I would love to be a SAHM.... but not during a pandemic. I'd also love to travel more...again, not during a pandemic.
@surlyjaneausten I am having terrible hip pain! The term "being wrenched apart" is the perfect way to describe it. I my thigh bones hurt as well.
Estimated due date (EDD): 11/24
Week of pregnancy: 21+6
Baby is the size of: Coconut
Upcoming Appointments: Not until August
Rant/Rave: I felt some outside kicks this weekend and baby is definitely kicking more in general. I find it super comforting and feel some much better with ever kick.
Questions? None that I can think of.
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would pay someone to finish our basement and some of the other projects DH is doing by himself so he can stop stressing over them and it can free up his time. I would also travel more.
Baby is the size of: red bell pepper (I have no idea why red was specified but whatever 🤷♀️)
Upcoming Appointments: week 24
Rant/Rave: Apparently, I chose the most uncomfortable maternity pants I own for work today! They didn't seem this tight when I put them on this morning but I'm dying! 😫
Questions?
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Read. All. The. Books 😍 Oh, and hang out with my kids and DH! 😊
Upcoming Appointments: 24 week visit with our midwife on August 3. 2 weeks from today! Time is kind of flying now 😅
Rave: My husband felt baby kick for the first time yesterday! It was such a special moment!
Questions? Hmmm.. none that I can think of right now.
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would start every day with a personal training session at the gym followed by a coffee from my favorite local coffee shop! I would take day trips with my husband and baby to state parks, wineries, breweries, zoos, cafes, etc,. and travel with family & friends on the weekends! ✈️
Rant/Rave: I'm with you @windywoman and @surlyjaneausten with the hip pain. My hips ache so much overnight and in the morning. I keep trying to track it down to certain shoes I wore, or how I was sitting earlier in the day, or how crappy is my mattress? But I think it's 'you're a pregnant lady' pain. Going to look into some Zoom pre-natal yoga to see if it helps. The rave - feeling stronger baby movements! Went from flutters to twitches pretty much overnight. I've been able to feel a couple from the outside, I expect by later this week my husband will be able to too
Questions?
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Would love to run a non-profit kitchen incubator/bakery. In this magical world, this would be a part time gig, and the rest of the time I'd be able to get a proper exercise routine, time to get outside into nature, a garden to tend, and access to art classes on a regular basis. And have a quiet weekend home a reasonable distance away from the city that has a guest room or two, and able to travel to more exciting places with friends/family on a whim (all without greenhouse gas impact, of course).
Upcoming Appointments: 24 week check up/ultrasound. Tech couldnt get a good view/pictures of babies heart/spine.
Rant/Rave: Rant: we finally announced our pregnancy on facebook when we found out the gender. Most comments were "congratulations", but one from a relative on DH side was "great, now you have the perfect family and can get fixed after this one is born" (we have a son and this baby is a girl). That comment is still irritating me... Excited to see baby girl at another ultrasound though! She didnt want to cooperate at the anatomy scan but I was happy hubby could make it. Not sure if he will be allowed at any more visits.
Questions? Not this week!
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Probably spend my time travelling with family. Granted, covid would not exist to prevent the travels :P
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week! I've finally reached the point of tossing and turning all night. Trying to stay on my left side but I cant seem to get comfortable in any position for too long
@kerriec93 I feel like no matter what you do people will just make stupid comments! I've already been asked if we're going to "try one more time for a girl?". I literally have no response! I love both of my sons so so much and I'm sure I'll love this baby boy just as much!
Rant/Rave: I’ve been in registry hell the past few days trying to make sure I have everything! I read reviews for everything for houuuurs, and I swear no matter the product there’s always at least a few bad reviews 😂 On the brightside I’m feeling baby move a lot lately!! She’s breech and has been using my bladder as a trampoline though so lots of bathroom trips 😅
Questions? Do any STMs recommend a humidifier in baby’s room? Or FTMs do you plan on it? I’m very on the fence.
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would probably be a SAHM and bake/cook all day! But knowing myself I would probably miss my students too much, and would want to get back in the classroom eventually. Who knows !
@kerriec93 that comment would frustrate me too! Everyone’s always gotta put their two cents in 🙄
@1sttimemomma98 I have a cool air humidifier for when he’s sick, not all the time. Actually I keep it out all the time because I started getting superstitious. It seemed like every time I put it away he’d get sick haha.
Baby is the size of: A Wonka Scrumdiddlyumptious bar 🥰
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow (7/22) regular checkup and Friday (7/24) High Risk Dr for AS follow up measurements 😬🤞🏼
Rant/Rave: Pregnancy dreams have been getting me the past couple of nights! But they’re not “good ones”. They’re usually ones I wake up panicked from. My rave is, we’re prepping to go to the beach for a week starting this weekend! Nice little socially distant vacation. I’m taking off the whole day on Friday so I’ll have an extra day to get myself together for the trip so it’s a nice short week at work this week.
Questions? This is a weird one, but it’s prompted from my crazy dream last night. I guess it’s a two-parter.
1. Can you develop cyst like zits around your nipples when breast feeding? 2. Do you still BF or pump when that’s happening?
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? Hands down I would be an elephant handler. I’ve looked into it and they don’t make much salary-wise so I would never be able to just switch career paths like that realistically. But it would be that or traveling the world food blogger style with my husband and our LO on the way.
@mama-buckets are you talking about the little bumps that show up on the areola? They’re called Montgomery’s glands and they develop during pregnancy to help lubricate your nipples for breastfeeding! They’re all good! Also I know what you mean about the dreams. I had some freaky ones earlier on. Last night I dreamed I was shopping for nursery furniture with my MIL and she said she couldn’t wait to set up a nursery in her house. DS has never spent longer than half a day there haha.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday! Just a checkup, but I'm not complaining!
Rant/Rave: I started craving salads again and I'm so happy I have something healthy to eat..maybe not so healthy with the cheese and ranch, but at least I'm getting nutrients!
Questions? Anyone else starting to get that "pregnancy brain" everyone's talking about? It's starting with little things for me...putting veggies in the cheese drawer, putting my phone down in weird places where I can't find it later...this could get interesting!
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would travel the world! Of course not now, I'd try to make sewing more than a hobby.
@reirei84 oh man! This started SO early for me. I would completely space out and forget what I was trying to say MID SENTENCE. I feel like I’m a good communicator and literally I would lose words just before they came out of my mouth. Sooooo frustrating! And I forget anything I don’t write down or text to my husband. It’s incredible to me haha.
Upcoming Appointments: Uhm... I go today to pick up my belly support belt, my next OB appt in Aug 7th, I don't have the schedule for my next MFM appt but I *believe* it will be in about 2ish weeks.
Rant/Rave: Rave: got SDs loft bedframe - Rant: it's lower than expected *facepalm* Oh well we'll make it work, I have it *mostly* put together, but DD had a meltdown of epic proportions and needed momma before I could get it finished last night.
Also, I posted about my MFM appt yesterday in the MFM/Highrisk thread if any of you want an update.
Questions? anyone else getting headaches/weird sound/feeling in their head? It's like I can hear my blood rushing in my head/borders on tinnitus occasionally, and sometimes associated with a headache. I've been in contact with my OB, so we'll see what she says if I'm just going crazy, or stressed, or what.
GTKY: If money was no object, what would you do all day? SAHM for sure! And then once the kids are in school SO.MANY.CRAFTS!!! (and naps)

@lurvleybunchococonuts I was getting that last month or so. I was CONVINCED I was having high blood pressure that was causing my headaches cause, like you, I SWORE I could hear the blood collecting up there. It eventually subsided and so have my multi-day headaches thank god. Since you have twins going on, I definitely thinks it’s good you reached out to your dr. I’m a FTM so everything is weird and new for me haha
@mama-buckets yeah, my main concern is blood pressure. I'm eating and trying to stay hydrated so I don't think it's as simple as something like that. We'll see what my OB says though. I did feel pretty craptastic over the weekend with a small bug, but overall better, just my head isn't "normal". lol

reirei84 I have pregnancy brain bad! TBH I don't think I ever got it fully back after having DS but it is so bad now! I forget everything and space out while talking too.
@reirei84 echoing others - pregnancy brain started almost immediately for me. It feels like it takes me 3 times as long to get whatever I'm trying to say from my brain out of my mouth, at home and at work. And it still doesn't always come out right. And forget about remember details about anything, unless I write them down.
Stopped by my OBs omw home tonight for a BP check. All good thankfully! Plus it gave me a chance to chat my OB nurse about scheduling the 2nd 1/2 of my soon to be twice weekly NSTs at their office.
