Hey everyone! I was on here a bit a few years ago when trying for our first. Now we are trying again and I’m really feeling like I’m needing some community because TTC can be lonely, frustrating work so here I am!

Ages (you and SO): 27

How many months have you been TTC?: 6 ish.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: right now just BD. I’m still breastfeeding and haven’t gotten my cycle back after having my daughter 13 months ago. I think temping could help me? I didn’t temp or chart the first time around so I don’t know a whole lot about it. I’m here to learn!

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): We struggled with infertility for two years and after 3 failed iui we were able to conceive naturally. My beautiful girl is now a year old and in two months I will be leaving my job to be a stay at home mom. I am so so ready. We are also so ready to expand our family but I’m feeling like we are not moving forward at all since I’m not having a cycle. I’ve been feeling discouraged but I’m excited to be here and learn and support as best I can!

@lee^2 welcome! I am still breastfeeding my DD who is 14.5 months old! I did cut back her nursing sessions to 3 day sessions and whatever she does at night and that helped kick start my body into a cycle. On average, a BFing mama’s cycle returns 9-15 months postpartum.

@chindimples04 that is good to hear! How long ago did you cut back on her nursing sessions and how long did it take for your cycle to return after that? A couple weeks ago DD was acting like she was ready to cut back on a few daytime sessions but I still offered for a few days before I cut back and now she is right back to wanting those sessions. I just don't think she is ready to cut back and I don't want to sacrifice her needs or our bonding time for my desire to have another. She is currently nursing 6-7 times a day and usually 1-2 times at night.

@lee^2 welcome! I also am still breastfeeding, DS is 16 months. My cycle started on it's own as round 6 months pp, but started to regulate a little after DS turned a year. He still wakes 1-2 times a night usually, but I noticed it regulated when he started to consistently sleep longer stretches with only 1-2 wake ups. He still on demand breastfeeds about 6x a day. I have heard that some night wean to help jumpstart their cycle. Good luck!

@Kenneylynn3 thank you for sharing your experience! That helps. I don't know anyone in my personal life that was still breastfeeding when they were TFAS. Hearing from other who are going through it is so helpful!!

@lee^2 I had my IUD taken out June 10 and started cutting back that week. I replaced the feeds with solid snacks and just kept her busy and distracted. I haven’t had my first period yet, but ovulated 1.5 ago, so will expect it here this weekend if this cycle wasn’t successful l.

Hi All! I'm Megan:

Ages (you and SO): 34

How many months have you been TTC?: 2

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Pretty much just doin' it, with a sense of when my fertility window should be, without charting or temp, which is how we made kid 1.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have a son who is 3.5 years old, and a job in crisis response, which is stressful during times of major disruption (like say a global pandemic). I am a big hiker who grew up in the PNW and learned to love the trails there and then moved to Texas for some reason and it is not mountainous. I look forward to getting to know the ladies here.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: DH thinks we are NTNP but I've been around the block enough to know roughly when O is. Also loosely going off of RHR.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): TW: Loss and BFP and more loss mentioned!

I was a bump member on the loss boards 10 years ago and we thought we were done. Then a surprise BFP in Dec followed quickly by a CP made us reconsider and give it 6 months of NTNP. Two more CP's later and here I am.

Hello my Ladies!! 💕 I'm back again 😢 I'm not really new here but just thought I would re-introduce myself somewhere.

Ages (you and SO): 37/37

How many months have you been TTC?: Since Aug 2019 but with 2 losses in between then.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Nothing right now. Cant TTC until my body is healed and resets

Hope it doesn’t take too long.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): *TW* Just had my D&E on July 9th & 10th. Hardest 2 days I have ever gone through in my life. Just off work trying to heal and rest. I'm Heartbroken and mentally and emotionally exhausted 💔. I miss my sweet baby boy already 😭 I cant believe I'm back again. Back to the drawing board. Sigh 😔 I hate the TTC journey and the mind f*#k that it is.. I just cant even begin to explain the mixed feelings and emotions I feel right now with what has happened, but I know my friends here will help support me through once again *TW end* Look forward to interacting with you all again. Xoxo.

@mindyb2019 I'm so sorry to see you back here. 💔 I've been thinking about you and sending lots of good vibes your way. After my first loss I heard someone say grief is like the words in the book "we're going on a bear hunt" - can't go over it, can't go under it, gotta get through it. That's stuck with me since, and helps me on the impossible days - just gotta get through today. Take it one day at a time. ♥️

@legallykate thanks girl. I hope I have my rainbow in my arms soon too ❤ The Dr. Said we could start trying again if we want after my first period. So once my period comes in the next 4-6 weeks we can try again if were ready.

@mindyb2019 I just had a recurring loss panel done. My RE is measuring different hormones, thyroid, etc but also looking at my genetics to see if I have genes that have translocation mutations. MH is getting the genetic stuff done as well to see if that's the cause of our RPL. MH goes in this week for bloodwork and then they'll compare our results to see if maybe we both have mutations on the same genes and that's why we keep having losses (at least that's how I understand it - anyone else have additional info?)

@acleverusername I was purely a lurker the first time around. I’m hoping participating will help me focus externally this time around 🙂. It took us a year last time, so I’m prepared for the long haul. Husband doesn’t like the pressure of TTC, so he doesn’t want to know about all of this stuff...charts, cm, timing, yada yada yada. So glad there is a community for this process.
